Hidamari Sketch and Lucky ☆ Star both have this charm to them. They are extremely similar animes about teenage girls going to school. Animation is unique in both. If you liked Lucky ☆ Star you will most likely get into Hidamari Sketch, and the other way around too. =)

Similar to Lucky Star, Hidamari Sketch is a slice-of-life comedy with four high school girls as main characters.  While Hidamari Sketch has very few references to other animes, its calm, relaxing atmosphere and background music are perfect for winding oneself down at the end of the day.

Both are laid back, easygoing slice-of-life comedy animes about four girls in high school. Each character in Hidamari Sketch also has a matching character in Lucky Star, if you think about the way they behave.

They have the same kind of atmosphere, for the most part. It's funny, relaxing and I think you'd have to me in the minority if you liked Lucky Star and not Hidamari Sketch. I should mention that you follow the art students just as you followed Konata and her friends in school. They both contain moe.

Both are charming slice of life featuring a group of four girls interacting and being friends. Lucky Star is more heavy with references and parody segments while Hidamari is more about comfort. Both have a similar laid back atmosphere and offer fond character moments.

If you like one slice-of-life series about four school girls, surely you'll like this other series fitting the same description! Both have a very easy-going tone and a silly, quirky sense of humour, and if you like the music in one series, then you're in luck! Both have music done by the wonderful Kousaki Satoru.

Both of these anime are super simialr in the fact that both are adorable girls doing cute things in a high school setting, just relaxing.  Both are Slice of Life anime, and are definitely some of my favorites.  I think even Konata Izumi (Lucky Star) would agree that A Channel is pretty cool too.  <3

Being a parody show, seitokai no ichizon is made with the full awareness of lucky star.  The first episodes steals a few screens from lucky star as the show is fully expecting the viewers to cross over.  To not have seen LS is to miss the very language of the show and its references.

Seitokai no Ichizon are much inspired on lucky star. Both have a group of 4 main girls (In Seitokai no Ichizon plus a male in group), much anime parodies, mainly for suzumiya haruhi. School life and slice of life themes also.

Both with lots of anime references, with many from Suzumiya Haruhi. The characters for both shows fall into the moe genre. Both are very light-hearted and funny shows with little to no plot advancements.
Ichizon also had a direct reference to LS.

Cute girls that do absolutely nothing within the span of the anime's showing. Each girl in both series feature some sort of archetype, and they all reference various anime from various places. (They reference Haruhi a lot for some reason). A fun way to kill time if you want something not so serious.

Dialogue heavy anime with a focus on a group of friends discussing various every-day topics with occasional references and jokes. Incredibly laid back as they're down to earth and occasionally relate able. Biggest difference is Lucky Star's theme of otaku culture while Joshiraku tends to focus on more general Japanese topics.

Joshiraku and Lucky Star are comic series with opposite themes, but with similar plots. A group of girls discuss Japanese culture, trivial things in life and even anime issues. Both usually perform satires of the aforementioned, showing the various conclusions of these, taken from a different point of view, with a humor that can be childish and sometimes very intelligent. Even one can not fully understand.

One would often find the comedy and the characters almost similar. From reserved to an outgoing main character, you will find these traits in the characters of Lucky Star and Joshiraku.

These two series follow the daily lives of a primarily female cast. While Lucky Star is about high school students (and no, not elementary students) Joshiraku is centered among young adults as rakugo tellers. Often the discussions each of the characters have from both series are tied to Japanese literature, culture, tradition, or any of the sort.

Note that the comedy in Lucky Star relies mainly from parodies of other series like Full Metal Panic! and Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (some of the original author's favourite series), while Joshiraku would be enjoyable for a larger audience. read more

The main heroines of both series are appalling otakus (the target audience) cleverly disguised as little girls, and the humour is based mostly on anime & video games references. If you liked Lucky Star you'll going to love Himouto, as it's story does not revolve around mundane events like eating chocolate coronets and sometimes even manages to be funny in a way thai is not related to references and overused tropes.

These two anime tell about the main character who overdosed on becoming an otaku. All their life, especially at home they will do like playing video games, watching anime, reading manga, etc. also these main characters only have female friends. I really recommend it if u like slice of life genre.

Both anime are quite similar to each other, in that they both deal with the everyday lives of a group of girls. Niether series has any large plot to follow, with each episode having a stand alone theme.
They're also both very funny in the way that they show the situations that the girls get into-such as going to the beach,what they do over school holidays, or thier school life.
Finally, each series has some random comedic moments thrown in which makes them both very likable.

Both shows are based off of 4-koma featuring cute schoolgirls doing cute things. 
Lucky Star features a highschool cast and focuses more on various thoughts or experiences that come to mind but still features plenty of comedy. 
Ichigo Mashimaro features a gradeschooler cast that likes to orbit around a 20-year old college student and is a more straight forward comedy overall.

Slice of life that focuses on a small group of characters (mainly female) at their school. Humorous and dialogue-driven, both of these series contain many random moments. Yuyushiki has a bit more fluidity to its pacing and conversations. Lucky Star makes a lot more references to other series and features an otaku girl as the main character.

Both series constantly spout random facts and lighthearted comedy out of thin air. 

There are several form of two man comedy 'manzai stunt' that involves one straight man (Kagami in Lucky Star / Yui in Yuyushiki) and two idiots (Tsukasa and Konata in Lucky Star / Yukari and Yuzuko in Yuyushiki). 

Both series also in a funny way have every extra characters besides the main casts displayed as an ordinary character, bland, lacking of colors, or even to extreme degree in Lucky Star everybody else is voiced by the same person.

Lucky Star and Yuyushiki are both slice-of-life genres of your not-so-everyday high school girls. These groups of friends act out mainly on whims and impulses, however, it's understood that the friendship between them is genuine. The conversation topics might seem tangential and even at a loss for logic, but still help to bring them closer together.

Both are shows about a bunch of girls doing... well, nothing in particular.
Lucky Star deals with crucial matters such as the best way to eat dessert, while Yuyushike focuses more on the interaction between the characters, but they share both these elements.
Overall Lucky Star has a (delightfully) slow pace, while Yuyushiki is faster and a bit louder.

Both Yuyushiki and Lucky Star have you following the daily lives of a group of high school girls, each with their own quirks. The laid-back, positive and easy-going vibe present in both anime make them enjoyable to watch. Yui's character in Yuyushiki bears a striking resemblance to Lucky Star's Kagami, in terms of personality, being the more sensible and mature, but adorable when embarrassed. It's also nice they're both not with that fufu lame ish. 

If you enjoyed Yuyushiki, it's hard to go wrong with Lucky Star.

If you liked らき☆すた(Lucky Star), you're definitely going to like Yuyushiki.
Just beware, Yuyushiki is, what I would call, "Borderline" between Lucky Star and Yuru Yuri, so expect a bit of "yuriness" from time to time.

Both are slice of life, have comedy and there is an otaku girl. Lucky Star focuses on 4 friends and Watamote just in one girl, but the style is alike, the life of the main characters with no a story, just random facts of their life. I found watamote like more depressing comedy and lucky star lighter but I am completely sure you'll like both.

Another minor fact Tomoko looks alike Konata and both are otaku, of course they have different personalities.

Both main characters are very alike, as in they're both otaku and have similiar interests. However while Watamote looks at the downsides of being an otaku (and perhaps the reality of it for some), Lucky Star has a more optimistic view on what it means to be an otaku. I'd recommend watching both to really compare the unhealthy otaku Tomoko vs healthy otaku Konata.

Both of these anime are about an anime loving school girl.
Lucky Star has Konata Izumi a lazy school girl that blows off homework/ schoolwork, and uses her time to watch anime, play games, or read manga. 
Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaetemo Omaera ga has Tomoko Kuroki who is well versed in the ways of otome games. 
One of the more major differences of these 2 anime is that Konata has friends, while Tomoko is trying to get friends and improve her highschool life.

Both shows are similar in a MOE + slice of life sort of way.  In comparison K-On is slightly more mature while Lucky Star is more cartoon-ish and relies on the cute factor a whole lot more.  Both shows share the same target audience.

The Anime's genre is different, however I find many of main characters quite similiar in both of animes.  (Kagami would be clannad's Kyou, Tsukasa=Ryou, Konata=Fuko).  I can quite assure that if viewers enjoyed Lucky Star's Characters, they surely would enjoy/appreciate Clannad and It's Characters.

Lucky Star and Clannad are very alike cause they're mostly about humor :) But Clannad WILL MAKE YOU CRY (Warning just for you people :) ). And if you didn't cry, that means you either have no heart, or you didn't watch it all the way through. ._.

Ok, so back to where we were, Clannad also has characters that are similiar to Lucky Star characters, not exactly like them, but similiar at least ^_^ This anime also features romance, which is something that Lucky Star didn't feature (Note: This is the stuff that will make you cry :) ). Well, Clannad is mostly a comedy anime, and the romance parts aren't like, all the sappy and corny ones also. So it's a really good anime for those people that want some laughs.

Oh, and also for those romance lovers, finish the first season and move onto the second season, a bit more romance for you. :) (And yeah, I know this is "recommending" a sequel, but I didn't make a whole new recommendation for it, so yeah :) )

They're quite different from one another. Lucky Star will make you laugh while Clannad will make you laugh and cry :) Oh and Lucky Star characters have similar looking characters in Clannad. Kagami - Kyou, Tsukasa - Ryou and Konata - Fuko

Humorous slice-of-life, similar-looking characters with similar backstories, and perking your happiness up with a salting of sadness.

Don't expect them to be the same, though. Clannad's got the strong points in terms of anime, but Lucky Star is really about otaku(s).

Both of these anime have cute characters, humour, and pure plotless fun. 
The only difference is that Lucky Star deals with everyday people while Magipoka has magical creatures in it. So if you're ever tired and just want something mindless to watch, go for it!

both shows follow a group of female friends in their daily high school life and therefore rely on the charm of the characters and situational humour to be a fun watch. scenes are short and sweet, and both series often rely on awkward interactions between a straight-talking girl and one who is a little more prone to bashfulness.

while a lot of Lucky Star's humour comes from pop-culture and geek-culture references, Galko focuses more on common real life myths and questions believed and asked by girls of their age and therefore (perhaps unintentionally) leans a little towards sex-ed territory on occasion.

the two shows are both very easy to watch, but whether or not the viewer likes them will largely be up to whether or not they expect actual plot from series they follow! read more

How are these two similar? Much of the similarity comes in the art style, although one is a slightly newer style, but there are enough similarities including the bright colors. There's also the humor which is similar in both. There's also a rather perky feeling to both series which gets downplayed. Both are slice of life pieces.

Both animes happen in the schools, and there're some funny stuff, which is some time really stupid. Some difference is that Most of lucky star character are girls, but Cromartie are boys. Lucky * Star also doesn't have golilars or robot likes Cromarties High School.

unlike in LS in GA they have a main character. except for one of the girls obvious obssesion with anime and manga  they both have the same energy and random comedy so if you liked one you'll enjoy the other

Four schoolgirls and various quirky friends. Both involve decent plays on school-life anime cliches. Hyakko's humor is somewhat weaker (but less random), and lacks Lucky Star's otaku elements.

Non Non Biyori addpermalink

Both animes center around slice of life and comedy with similar characters and really cute storyline both has light hearted humour the dissimilaritys are that lucky star centers around everyday life in the city whereas non non biyori centers around life in the country also lucky star is a parody whereas non non biyori is not. If you loved the light hearted humour and the cute storyline then you will love lucky star but if you watched non non biyori for its amazing art then lucky star is not for you

Miyakawa-ke is a spin off from the Lucky Star series featuring two of the very minor characters that appeared throughout the series.  Similar art and style.

Its similar that both are comedy and very funny. Main chacters are same i think, both them are funny and very cute. i just love konata and italy!!!! i treally hop you like those animes!!!!!

An otaku and a tsundere. Konata is to Hajime as Kagami is to Kaoru. If you've seen Lucky Star and thought, "Konata and Kagami would be so cute in a relationship", then you'd enjoy seeing DgNwIkWK.

The difference, however, is that Lucky Star relies on anime references while DgNwIkWK pokes fun at the otaku fanbase.

Both anime's are full of comedy and make you laugh at its really weird randomness, also they both show life of highschool students in a funny way. One might show  more about love than the other but they both do excelent parodies of other anime's and movies. xD

Kind of obvious, both are based on 4komas, deal with the daily life of a group of girls, and both are funny as hell. Only diferrence is Lucky Star is really random while Dojin Work has a story.

Hanayamata and Lucky Star are two very colorful Cute Girls Doing Cute Things anime. The main characters are all girls in this comedic slice of life show, though Lucky Star is more about its comedy while Hanayamata has more of a concrete narrative. There are similar characters with an eccentric girl who is energetic towards her interests, a shy girl and her close tsundere companion, et cetera, but they are different enough to consider giving this show a try.
