Its about 4 girls just hanging around talking about whats on their mind in both animes.
There is the glasses-girl, the Otaku, the clumsy oversleep-all-the-time girl, the classic moe girls.
Both hame similar drawing style being "fun" and lighthearted.
Both of them misses any kind of real story, its just a lot of sketches of the girls doing sleepovers, missing homework and talking about stuff.
Both shows have cute girls making funny observations about every day life...
...But in YuruYuri, they clearly have crushes on each other! Lucky Star had some subtle shoujo-ai subtext, but they go for broke in YuruYuri.
Still, if you like cute character designs and slice-of-life humor, check both out!

Cute girls enjoying their school life. Cast of characters is very similar - otaku, tsukkomi, the one that always fantasing about others, the silent one etc. Lucky Star is more geeky and random but both are very funny
comedy 4-koma, otaku (Toshino Kyouko), both are stories about 4 girls with fun school life with nothing to accomplish >.<
Similar cast of characters. They're both slice-of-life / comedy with all female leads. Konata is a lot like Toshino; a bit of a pervert, a huge otaku, and completely enigmatic. Yuru Yuri is Lucky Star if all the characters in Lucky Star were lesbians and in middle school.

Yuru Yuri is also an anime about a group of school girls doing random and sometimes mundane things, and both are also comedies.
Although some people may be put off by the yuri, it's still a pretty funny show that I would recommend.

These are both similar in the way that both anime revolve around a group of female friends who go through various misadventures and daily life together. Both series are very random, slice of life/comedy featuring cute girls with no specific plot line.

If you liked Yuri Yuri, you'll probably like Lucky Star and vice versa. Both are essentially "pure" slice of life shows, in that their contents consist entirely of slice of life hi-jinx with no deviation whatsoever. So if you like what you saw from the first one, give the other a shot.

Similar archetypes and character interactions in both shows. Yuru Yuri is, for lack of a better term, gayer, and Lucky Star is more heavy on references.

Four girls and one friendship
Your standard CGDCT with average school girls with ordinary life as they make every scene hilarious as it can get. As for my opinion, the two are similar mainly in their premise of not having a plot as it primarily focuses on its gags to make it seem fun towards its viewers.
