Synopsis

During their decade-long quest to defeat the Demon King, the members of the hero's party—Himmel himself, the priest Heiter, the dwarf warrior Eisen, and the elven mage Frieren—forge bonds through adventures and battles, creating unforgettable precious memories for most of them.

However, the time that Frieren spends with her comrades is equivalent to merely a fraction of her life, which has lasted over a thousand years. When the party disbands after their victory, Frieren casually returns to her "usual" routine of collecting spells across the continent. Due to her different sense of time, she seemingly holds no strong feelings toward the experiences she went through.

As the years pass, Frieren gradually realizes how her days in the hero's party truly impacted her. Witnessing the deaths of two of her former companions, Frieren begins to regret having taken their presence for granted; she vows to better understand humans and create real personal connections. Although the story of that once memorable journey has long ended, a new tale is about to begin.

Now I feel like I love life. Watching Sousou no Frieren was an experience that made me realize how I tend to hide things, maybe out of fear, and then I end up regretting not having accepted that part of myself sooner.

I'm human, I don't have much time, but even so, I tend to make that same mistake of hiding, rejecting, forgetting.

This story is not for everyone, it is for all of us who have regretted a mistake from the past and that due to the circumstances of time, it is something that we will never be able to change.

Where do I even start with this anime...

The synopsis of the anime is what made me so excited to watch it the idea of it is extremely interesting and something I've always wanted to see however I do believe it was executed poorly.

I enjoy slow burners I wish this anime was long drawn out lasting and starting from the very start of the journey frieren as a baby and that being episode 1 leading towards an end of the series frieren reaching like idk 1000 years old on like episode 250.

Alot of times this anime feels extremely short or extremely long on certain parts that ...

Frieren isn't deep. It's just empty in a pretty wrapper.
So I watched Frieren, and honestly... I just couldn’t keep these thoughts to myself.

People are constantly praising it for being emotional, thoughtful, and “beautifully slow.” And yeah, I get where they’re coming from. But to me, it felt more like someone telling me to stare at a river because it’s relaxing. Like… sure, it flows nicely — but where is the goal? What’s the point?

There’s no real conflict, no antagonist that actually matters, no moral dilemma to chew on. The characters just kind of go through the motions without ever really being challenged. Even Frieren herself ...
