So you're not going to use a racial slur at me, I'm very disappointed in you. I double dared you but you seem to cower a bit when I dared you to use a racial slur on me. I'm a person of color, I don't know what race you are, but you seem to hate western which would be ironic if you're white.

When you joined MAL and you get involved with MAL forum, you're part of the anime/manga community no matter what. But you insulting mangaka for working on western comic and OEL manga would not take off really well with other anime/manga fans. You already offended me when you just downright insulted Yoshitaka Amano and Katsushiro Otomo (along with Go Nagai, and Shotaro Ishinomori).

Buddy, I don't know how long you've been in the anime/manga fandom for (I've been in the fandom for a long time), and I've learned to be more open-minded because of that. In this fandom, it's expected for that fans to be open-minded, that does applied to you. If you're a long time anime fan like I am, then I don't know how the heck did you not know of MAL (since this website's creation in 2004).



Does that applied to Korean and Chinese animation? Because if you have a grudge against that, then I would've perceive you as racist if you have a grudge against those animation too. I mean do you not watch anime based on Korean webtoons and Chinese manhua? What would happen if a manga or a light novel got a Korean animation adaptation, would you watch it?



Hm, they already did. Ultraman Rising is one of them (if you're wondering why you can't find it on MAL database, now you know). Oh and the Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance ONA on Netflix. Yeah, that one was a co-production between Bandai-Namco and American producers and the original language is English, and Japanese is the dub. And one more thing:




That might look like an anime shorts from Acura, but it wasn't done by a Japanese studio, it was done by a UK animation studio. Now what do you think's going to happen if more and more Japanese IP holders like Bandai-Namco & Acura decided to have their animation done by western animation (or even South Korean animation) studios like the way Acura did instead of using a Japanese studio? A lot of western animation studio (and I'll also include South Korean and Chinese animation studio) have successfully been able to make animation that are on par with their Japanese counterpart and given the way that Japanese IP holder like Bandai-Namco, Tsuburaya, and Acura are allowing western animation studios, writers, producers, and other prominent figures to do the work for them (they may extend that to South Koreans and Chinese) given their outsourced animation work. Japanese animation have already worked with Chinese animation for the last few years. You would've known about this if you're a long time anime fan.

Congratulation, you just insulted all the mangaka that worked on the anime you watched on your list for working on western titles/works. Maybe the anime/manga fandom just isn't for you. If you can't respect the mangaka that worked on western comic and OEL manga, then why do you want be part of the anime/manga fandom for anyway? If you don't like to respect their western work, then what would you do if Japanese companies have a western animation (or even a South Korean) studio to do a animated adaptation of your manga or Light Novel? What would you do if Bandai-Namco had Studio Mir (South Korean studio), and/or Powerhouse Animation Studio (the one responsible for Netflix's Castlevania) worked on a Gundam animated TV series in the near future, would you hate the Gundam franchise forever for doing that?



Does that applied to 2 South Korean manhwa/cartoonist that worked on Kurokami/Black God manga (which was later adapted into anime)? Does that applied to Stan Lee who wrote and worked on Heroman manga & anime? Are those manga "garbage" because it wasn't done by a Japanese artists?

Again, I don't think the anime/manga fandom would be for you given the way you showed disrespect toward mangaka both Japanese and non-Japanese that can worked and expand their work outside of their usual medium.

Were you aware some famous Japanese mangaka have gotten involved in OEL manga and also even western comic? Katsuhiro Otomo (you know the guy who created Akira, even directing the animated film) was one of the artist involved in Batman: Black and White comic/graphic novel, were you not aware of this? Do you know Yoshitaka Amano, the one who worked on Vampire Hunter D, he did the artwork for several western comic like this one:



He even did a variant cover design for a Harley Quinn comic:



Amano also did the artwork for Neil Gaiman's Sandman series for DC Comics, particularly this title.

So by saying OEL manga and anime-influenced western animation are "soulless, flavorless commercial garbage that doesn't have any merit", by your logic, are you saying Katsuhiro Otomo, and Yoshitaka Amano doing artwork for DC and Marvel are tasteless and those mangaka should stay in their lane and should be doing work in Japan and not for some dumb foreign companies like DC and Marvel, is that what you're saying?

FYI: Go Nagai (the creator of Mazinger Z) did a OEL manga/comic of Mazinger in 1988 for the US market some many years before manga became mainstream in the US. Also, Shotaro Ishinomori (the creator of Kamen Rider, Cyborg 009, Super Sentai series) did a Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past comic for Nintendo Power in the US (which has been re-published by Viz Media in 2015), it has now been re-classified as a OEL manga many years later. Applying the same logic, are you saying Go Nagai and Shotaro Ishinomori working on OEL manga are soulless and flavorless too?

You seen to have a lot of old school/retro titles in your database collection. How old are you? How did you not joined MAL many years ago?

Also, what do you have against OEL manga and anime-influenced western animation? I mean do you not watch any Korean or Chinese animation beside Japanese one?
