Children dabbling in superstition, conspiracy, and pseudoscience.

Occultic;Boob derives its mysticism from electronics, and Ghost Hound from neurology; both equally loaded with bullshit but probably easy enough to disregard if you know literally nothing about the topic. Maybe.

Vapid but atmospheric. Have good visuals for the time they were made.

At first glance, these two might not be similar, but both are about the endurance of the human spirit and the importance of friendship in harsh times. As well, both feature an inspiring big brother figure whose way of thinking touches the main characters throughout the series, as well as people he hasn't even met.

Rainbow is definitely more realistic than Gurren Lagann, but both have a tendency to be uplifting.

Both series share a few similar concepts that I'm surprised there aren't anymore recommendations made between the two, though I'm not saying you'd like one show given you like the other since they vary in tones.
Both worlds are inhabited by entities unseen by normal people whose very lives are threatened by their presence. They are maintained by specialists that hunt these entities for the safety and stability of the world. The hunters have their means of combating without interfering with everyday normal life.
Both female leads have this role of being a hunter, whilst the male leads portrays the partner whose existential presence at first, goes against the female's ideals. This quickly changes with character progression, where the couples help each other throughout the series.

Just going to leave this here, but Amanokuji and Hachiman are NOTHING similar. These are all first episode impressions, and are reasonable at that point. Episode 1 starts off with Amanokuji rumination on the idea of quality, before dismissing it entirely as being true.

This only holds for 2 moments within the anime, the introduction and a scene in episode 4.

In any case, 90% of the time, Amanokuji has no discernible train of thought, rationale, or philosophy. He is essentially a stoic brick in terms of thought. Hachiman is aggressively cynical, which is an actual personality, to an extent.

Amanokuji=No personality whatsoever

Hachiman=Being a misanthropic jerk

This is not an attack on Amanokuji. There is suppose to be an element of mystery as to why he is stoic. I just believe the comparison to be inaccurate 6 episodes in, and thus entirely fails as a recommendation.

Both anime start with the motivation of the protagonist wanting to find his/her parent, who are considered legendary at what they do.

These series start in a somewhat light tone but get progressively darker as time passes.

Their settings allow for very interesting worldbuilding that makes the viewer want to know more about the world of the characters, giving a fantastic adventure feeling.

Shoukoku no Altair
Both stories are set in a turmoil/warring period and both plots (unlike typical shounen series) do not progress by simply fighting but rather by focusing on bigger picture -- in Kingdom there are the strategies and ideals while for Shoukoku no Altair its the political and economic relations.
P.S. For Kingdom, just endure the awful CGI and you'll find yourself a good story.

One Punch Man and Monster aren't really the same except for the main character. Monster Musume is a harem with good comedy and ecchi(A LOT OF ECCHI don't watch if you can't handle ecchi), while One Punch has a super hero fighting villians. The protagonists are relaxed with encountering death defying actions and their personalities are very similar. Both have good comedy.

It has a very silly humor, but it is funny and is very easy to follow, the characters are very funny and the stupid things they do in their day to day makes me laugh a lot. His comedy is more effective than almost a lot of anime/manga of his genre, and his scenes (mostly) are well executed. PD: It's a shame that this series was not successful, as it deserved a continuation.

This movie deals intricately with witty character interaction, good character development, and extremely similar elements of time-travel. The animation and art are both great, and the music will really pull you into the show. There are tense moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and there will be light-hearted moments where you can laugh. Either way, if you watch either, be prepared for one heck of a ride!

Important note:The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is only a movie you can only fully appreciate if you have watched the previous two seasons adapted before it.
