Humans are complex and these stories attempt to understand them. Mushishi explores the world, the relationship between humans and nature, and the meaning of life. In contrast, Sousou no Frieren delves into character growth, friendships and regret, death and the value of life. While both Ginko and Frieren learn more about people during their travels, they begin learning more about themselves on the way. If you're looking to go on a journey, then these stories will take you along. They'll put you at ease and give you a moment to heal while their music soothes your soul. Unparalleled tranquility in both anime. The love of nature is prevalent in both anime. Complex and very humane characters. Rollercoasters of emotions. Adventure anime at its best!

Both series unfold in fantasy realms, featuring protagonists on tranquil and heartwarming journeys. The atmosphere is serene, and the OSTs evoke similar emotions in both narratives.

Both anime series have a distinctive iyashikei style. The characters embark on a journey to explore different lands and the mysterious wonders of the world. They meet new people, help others, and learn valuable lessons. I believe that no other anime series can teach me as many profound and valuable lessons as Mushishi did, but fortunately, I was able to rediscover this precious feeling in Sousou no Frieren.

Both protagonists are wise, independent, and somewhat mysterious. There is the theme of traveling around the world helping people. Both are iyashikei.
