Ore dake Level Up na Ken Season 2: Arise from the Shadow

The story is mid. The character development is mid. The animation is... actually pretty top.

Even "Sister Leveling" has a better plot than this!

So why on earth am I watching this on a weekly basis ever since Season 1 ?!
I don't even know myself. It just catches. It's addictive. It grabs your attention and takes you for the ride.

It's the storytelling!

It's an impeccable way (doubled by great music and animation) to tell a story that's so basic you've probably heard it 100 times before in other games and anime alike. And yet you've never seen the story in THIS way. It never got you THIS ... excited to see what happens next.

At first, I was afraid this is turning slowly into One Punch Man, with the main character quickly overpowering everything. But no, 4 episodes into Season 2, we already get at least one fight that's a really close call. Fights for which Jin-Woo actually has to work extra hard. And these are the parts you'll love most. Parts that it's worth waiting for.

So if you loved Season 1, be at ease. you're in for the same ride

...are the people clicking 10 actually watching the show? Are they the same people who thought Kirito was an interesting character? Maybe they just really love dungeon diving shows? I'm trying to connect the dots, and all I'm left with are more questions.

If you want to know what 'mid' looks like, oh boy have I got a show for you. The animation is good! The music is fun! The setup is interesting! And...that's the show. Readers have always admitted that the series was carried by its art, and if they had been able to deliver that on a top-tier level with the anime I could ... see where people were coming from. But it's merely good, and these days good isn't good enough to stand out in the space. The plot is largely nonexistent, the MC is a blank power-fantasy slate after the first episode or two, and it's more of the same in season 2 so far.

Solo leveling is for those few special people in your life that have no tolerance for plot or meaningful writing and just want to watch the equivalent of two actions figures bashing into each other. If you want anything else out of a story, look elsewhere as there is nothing redeemable about this story besides the art which is still very generic if well made. If you are watching this above the age of 13 you need to reevaluate how your life is going. This is the new generation's SAO and we should treat it as such. Manwa is a near creatively bankrupt avenue due ... to the influence of this trash and the boring power system leaves no nuance since you can read the stats and see who beats who with NO CHANCE OF ANYONE GETTING STRONGER OTHER THAN MC. The message of this show is that nothing matters unless you are god's chosen glazer who gets to be better than everyone else by virtue of having a skill window. This show isn't even as deep as a puddle its more like the leftover milk left in a half eaten bowl of cereal in terms of depth. IF YOU HAVE A BRAIN STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SHOW.
