Watch the original tv series trust me, it took me about a week to finish it and you won't really get a lot of references if you watch plus.

It's an easy mix up. A lot of people were pushing to have the Nihon Animator Mihonichi shorts split up into 35 individual database entries so folks who are adding it to completed are most likely thinking that's what's going on and don't realize it's a totally different short anime.

It sure doesn't help that Japan barely gave it a different title. But the virtual reality movie is shown in only 1 theater in Japan where you have to wear a headset to view it. I don't think anybody on MAL has actually ever seen it.

which I believe you think it is as you mention Studio Khara in your review. Studio Khara did not work on the VR movie.

You made a bad decision of watching Chars Counterattack before watching zeta gundam, that movie is a disappointment. I don't think it's the magnum opus of Tomino like many others but you should at least experience it I forced myself to watch it and ended up liking it in the end.
