I did come across Oniisama e... at some point and did consider it since Rose of Versailles was interesting enough, was busy with other works but it would be nice with more Girls Love works with quality narratives so I'll definitely check it out as well as Ikeda Riyokos other works. The majority of her works haven't been adapted to anime but I suppose they carry some historical value since she is considered one of the most notable Shoujo authors. Her works seem to have inspired Ikuharas, wouldn't be surprised judging by how Utenas character bears strikingly similarity to Oscars.

One thing I have noted from Satou and HAL Film Maker is there seems to be at least a couple of unconventional takes on the magical girl genre like Pretear and Uta Kata, they aren't the most convincing narratives and fall short on Princess Tutus quality but they have some interesting ideas and messages which may be worth checking out. Thought it was worth mentioning this.

It was Hikari to Mizu no Daphne. Actually it doesn't have that much fan service and I wouldn't consider it an ecchi just because the way they dress, but I was running out of time so I didn't riskt it. You can watch it if you want, it was one of the gifts at some point.

Thank you for your santa recommendations. I was actually planning to watch both Haibane Renmei and Boogiepop wa Warawanai eventually, I simply didn't feel like adding them to my PTW list.

As thanks for your efforts, I'll provide you a recommendation in return. You seem to like Shoujo and Iyashikei(healing) series so I think Kaleido Star would be to your liking, its a Performing Arts show about entertaining and be one with the performers and audience basically, its made by the same director as Princess Tutu and Aria and is also a 2000s show with similar feel and style. :)

Yeah I got tired of waiting for my present so I thought I'd help out to get the present sent out faster. Still ended up being a new year event in the end though! Part of the delay was because there were so many naughty santas who failed to show up, so we had to step in and fill the gap. Another factor I reckon was because of the stringent requirements for the messages. I personally had to redo some of my earlier presents as they didn't initially contain enough sentences, etc, and it's not always easy to stick to the message requirements when you don't have a big overlap in lists with the recipient. Actually, I'd be interested to know if you'd prefer shorter messages with the present - maybe just a couple of sentences on why they chose the gift - or more elaborate ones that describe the recommendation in more detail, but at the expense of receiving the presents later?
