I'm usually pretty slow at responding though. Oh, and I don't accept random friend requests.
Hey it's been a while. Didn't really want to bother you, I thought you may have left anime for good or maybe you just didn't had anything to talk about.
I had my hands full last year for the most part, but I still had a couple of breaks from time to time where I picked up videogames and visual novels. I don't really follow that much anime anymore, it really doesn't hold my attention unless is really good or fits my interest (maybe one/two per season, that's it).
In regards to DRV3, yeah, I've played. I think SDR2 was still better, maybe is because I liked Nagito's character way too much and the way it influenced the trials by having a deuteragonist that could one moment be on your side and another on the culprits's side, but he created a very interesting dynamic that I felt the former was lacking. That being said, DRV3 is pretty good, and in terms of presentation, graphics, minigames is the best one I feel. My favorites in that game where Miu Iruma and Korekiyo, even though I feel the later was wasted potential (I don't know if you've played that game yet, so I don't want to share unnecesary spoilers). General consensus is that DRV3 has the best characters as well (I disagree but I don't find that opinion unpleasant or anything) and the ending has mixed opinions (I didn't liked it that much, but is less about the nature of it and more about that I felt that it went on for too long and they could've shortened the whole deal and reveals). Overall is SDR2 > DRV3 > Despair Girls: Another Episode > DR1 to me, but all of them are good. If you haven't played give it a try, I can almost guarantee that you will like it more than DR1.
In terms of VNs (if you still are into them), I would recommend you give a try to Fata Morgana no Yakata/The House in Fata Morgana (romance/tragedy), Dies Irae (if you like chuuni/visual novels with fights like Fate Stay Night) or Subarashiki Hibi/Subahibi (mystery/SoL) those are the best releases that have come out in recent years.
>I'd say ufotable's productions are definitely more male-centered most of the time
I agree, but I actually like a lot of "male-centric" stories, stuff like Monster, Texhnolyze, Galactic Heroes, etc . . .
>That's definitely something that comes with age, right.
I always hope, when I see stuff like that, that they're younger, but it's the internet, so you never know.
>once you get older you can definitely see the flaws in every show, even your favorite ones.
I think it's partly that, and partly just understanding that not everyone likes the same kind of stories. I have my favorite types of stories and types I can't stand, just like everyone else.
Abyss is pretty good so far. It's a sci-fi/adventure/mystery. The production value is great, and the backgrounds are stunning (and I agree about the OST. I haven't downloaded it yet, but it sounds beautiful from what I've heard in the show). It's easy to root for the characters, but the real star is the abyss itself. I really want to know more about it lol. It's definitely worth watching.
Thanks! It's nice to know there's people on MAL who are okay with others who don't have the same taste. I can see the appeal of UFO Table (especially their animation), but for whatever reason, their characters just don't do it for me.
I'm excellent. My days have been wonderful so far this year. Life is good
Well it is nice to hear that you are watching anime man. I have not watched anything in 2018 yet
Kind of anime do you like?
I personally think that they just run out of budget with the game (it was not even gonna be made in the first place, so it is on tight one already) and that's why it somewhat ended in a cliffhanger (they didn't even animate any of the epilogue files). I mean, is kinda obvious how is gonna go down (they have infinite chances to find the terrorist and they are eventually gonna do it regardless because there are multiple universe) but is somewhat disappointing. I enjoyed the characters a lot (Carlos, Junpei, Phi and Sigma were easily the best of the bunch to me) and the story was very engrossing and interesting, really loved how they tied up ZTD with VLR like you said.
About DR3, yeah, is pretty good. I liked Future more than Despair at the beginning, but they're kinda even now that Junko has taken the stage (last episode with Komaeda's shenanigans was great). But yes, I agree the pacing is too rushed and is kinda obvious they should have made at the very least a couple more episodes for each (I would say Despair-hen could've easily had 24 if they wanted to, and they could have included DR0 in there as well). What I'm not really digging is the fact that they somewhat wanna push the reason behind them changing because of the Anime that Ryota is making. That just seems lazy and a way to give us a reason because they have to wrap the series in 12 episodes. Regardless, they're still very enjoyable.
Occultic;Nine? I mean, I'm guessing is for the creators of Steins;gate, Chaos;head and Robotic;Notes, but what it's about?

Anime van het seizoen is echt Re:zero voor mij :D

Did you end up playing ZTD? I liked it, but I thought it wasn't as good as VLR. What are your thoughts on the game?
Also, Danganronpa 3 is being really good. Didn't think it would end up being such a good follow up for the games, but both have their good parts.
