[[ Live Action Adaptations ]]

News and Updates

Dante Harper, who was the first writer to take a swing at adapting Sakurazaka Hiroshi's All You Need Is Kill, which became Edge of Tomorrow, is working with Collet-Serra, the studio and producers on Akira. Warner Bros. announced that the film was due to be released this spring, which obviously didn't happen. Collet-Serra is finishing up work on the thriller Run All Night, reteaming him with Liam Neeson, which is due out in February 2015, so, after that, we may hear more about this. In the mean time, a group of people called "The Akira Project" created a fan-made trailer.
You can view it here: Akira Project

Dragon Ball Z: Saiyan Saga
From what i could gather the 2012 Live Action for DBZ is a fan made trailer only. Even though it's from a small production company the budget was still $250K just for the trailer alone. You can watch the trailer & read more about it here: YOUTUBE. Technically i shouldn't mention it here but it still counts as a Live Action in my books - although i will remove the Anime reference so there's no confusion.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. has acquired rights for a live-action film adaptation of Tite Kubo's Bleach. The script will be written by Dan Mazeau. Peter Segal will produce and possibly direct. Other producers include Michael Ewing, Masi Oka, and Jason Hoffs at Viz Productions. Branon Coluccio will be an executive producer. Source: Variety

Blue Submarine No. 6
In 2005, it was announced that the live-action of Blue Submarine No. 6 film will be produced. However, as of 2012, there has been no news nor reports of any progress, suggesting the movie is still pending or in long term suspension. Source: Wikipedia

Cowboy Bebop
This Live Action has been in the works since 2008. On 22nd Oct 2013 Reddit website interviewed Keanu Reeves, who would play Spike, who confirmed that the project would cost half a billion dollars to produce. "They turned in the script and it was very expensive...I don't know where it's at right now. Cowboy Bebop does not look like it is going to happen with me in it" Keanu announced - source AnimeNewsNetwork

Attack on Titan (aka Shingeki no Kyojin)
After Tetsuya Nakashima left his position as director last December, the official website for Hajime Isayama announced that live-action film adaptation is moving forward with a new project team. They will begin filming in summer 2014, for a planned 2015 release - source AnimeNewsNetwork.

TRACE (the webtoon by Yeong-Hun Go)
The Korean webtoon Trace has rumours for a live action movie. AsianWiki.com has a profile page for the proposed movie, but beside that I can not find any other references, at this stage.
Stay tuned folks, updates to follow!
