Synopsis

Formerly an all-boys school, Seigetsu Academy is now a co-ed institution that hones its students' knowledge in astronomy. In this regard, Tsukiko Yahisa enrolls as the first and only female student in the academy. By her side are her childhood best friends, Kanata Nanami and Suzuya Touzuki, who shield her from the advances of the student body. As Tsukiko learns to navigate her new environment, she encounters 13 distinct boys who are based on the Western zodiac star signs. Eventually, Tsukiko's involvement with these boys drags her deeper into star-crossed routes that will entangle her in numerous affairs.

Let me start by saying those who reviewed based on one episode or those who didn't know this was based on a dating sim and reviewed are missing the whole perspective and need to give this show (as well as the game) another chance with the whole perspective.

I had seen art for the game and it intrigued me enough that I want to watch detailed playthroughs for sure, but what I hadn't known until recently is that this anime existed. I was actually pretty excited to watch it even though I knew most people wouldn't care for it.

I was immediately drawn in by the art ...

Mixed Feelings
Starry☆Sky is an anime that is a series of Japanese otome game visual novels created and developed by the software company Honeybee. It was separated into four games, the first released in 2009, with three love interests in each, making a total of twelve possible love interests. It was well received in Japan, having Drama CDs, countless manga adaptations and a 26 episode anime adaptation. While it was revived well for many of the otome games, the anime is a swing and miss at bat.

As someone who played all the starry sky games, this is a pathetic attempt to try to squeeze every single character's plotline into 1 show. They only give 2 episodes per guy (which is only 11 min per episodes so a full episode per guy). They don't even use this time wisely to fully cover or describe the character. In fact they have tended to add original stuff (like Homare's episodes) and completely change the perception of characters to those who never played the games. The animation & character designs were transferred poorly and everyone had derpy faces 90% of the time.

This is ...
