Synopsis

Kou Ichinomiya is the son of a wealthy businessman who holds a firm belief in his elite status. As such, he is determined to avoid becoming indebted to anyone; but one day, after a run-in with some mischievous kids on Arakawa Bridge, he ends up falling into the river running underneath. Luckily for him, a passerby is there to save him—but now, he owes his life to this stranger!

Angered by this, Kou insists on paying her back, but this may just be the worst deal the arrogant businessman has ever made. The stranger—a stoic, tracksuit-wearing homeless girl known only as Nino—lives in a cardboard box under the bridge and wants only one thing: to fall in love. Asking Kou to be her boyfriend, he has no choice but to accept, forcing him to move out of his comfortable home and start a new life under the bridge!

Anyone interested in Zen philosophy and satori will love this anime and will get something special out of it. I don't think it's just by chance that its writer [Hikaru Nakamura](https://myanimelist.net/people/4039/Hikaru_Nakamura) is also the author of "[Saint Young Men](https://myanimelist.net/anime/15775/Saint%E2%98%86Oniisan)".

OK here's a quirky suggestion: watch this anime in the same period as you're reading Alan Watts's "The Wisdom of Insecurity" or "The Way of Zen" or "Tao". One activity will illustrate the other. I read once that a zen teacher used "Alice in Wonderland" to teach Zen. If one had to choose an anime to explain zen and satori, *Arakawa Under the Bridge* would certainly be ...

A masterpiece of randomness.

Arakawa Under the Bridge is hard to grasp at first. The storytelling and the plot are quite original. But looking past them, or rather learning to enjoy them, Arakawa quickly becomes one of these feel good comforting shows.

The strength of the anime is in its characters. A bunch of society rejects living under a bridge with top tier voice acting. Each character is unique, unpredictable, well written and inevitably hilarious. Each one has unique quirks, an interesting past and is completely detached to anything with a sense of logic. The voice actors help a lot with a few coming from Gintama.

The ...

I am really confused about this anime I started in hope that i would get some romance plot development comedy and some drama but all we got is comedy!!!!!
well at least the comedy was satisfactory but i have seen better comedy anime than this so its not the best............

At last i will give it a decent score of 6/10 because of its comedy and the fact that i didn't drop this anime.............

well, some people would say there are many morals and deep meanings but i don't watch anime for these things...........i just want entertainment and this anime barely qualified in this field..don't get ...
