Mob Psycho 100 III

After foiling a world-threatening plot, Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama returns to tackle the more exhausting aspects of his mundane life—starting with filling out his school's nerve-racking career form. Meanwhile, he continues to assist his mentor Arataka Reigen and the office's new recruit, Katsuya Serizawa, in solving paranormal cases of their clients. While continuing his duties, Mob also works on gaining more independence in his esper and human lives, as well as trying to integrate better with the people around him.

However, new supernatural and ordinary challenges test Mob’s emotional stability and force him to confront the realities around him. As he strives to continue forward on the path to maturity, Mob must resolve his emotional crises and reassess the naivety he has held on for so long.

(ACTUALLY IT"S SPOILER FREE)
"People can change" and "People need relationships and human connections" are the underlying themes that have pushed the plot of Mob Psycho part 1, 2 and 3.

You see from the unique art-style to the epic voice cast (sub and dub both) to the all 3 parts depending upon one another and completing each other, that is what makes Mob's school and work adventures with his master (Goatgen Arataka) so special.

Now since this a review of the 3rd season, I think it's fair to put up some info of Part 1 and 2. So minor spoiler alert?

Personally speaking, what makes this show ... so great for me is
- Everybody has flaws, but they don't shy away from them. And through depending on others they are able to become better.
- How the MC. Mob tries to fix his faults with his unwavering will, how every time someone is in a pinch. You can count on Mob to help them. But that doesn't mean Mob is a perfect being with himself doesn't depend on others, it's the complete opposite of that.

Instead of typing words I don't fully understand myself and making 60000+ word paragraphs.
I'll say, I love how strong, reliable, honest Mob is. How through his life we get to know the true meaning of Friendship and connections. With as little bias, I can comfortably say that unless you don't know how to enjoy the good things in life. You will also enjoy this funny, complete story of Mob, his friends', his master's Life.

I took inspiration from a few others review so I'll shout them out. @MageDB and The Mob Psycho Reddit comm.

6.25/10 ~ a noticeable step down in quality

The begining of season 3 was really quite slow and got to the shows most boring towards the middle section which was my problem with season 1 a whole.

Pros:
- Some of the conclusions were quite cathartic
- the final action scene brining back the original intro has so hype
- im glad they just stopped introducing new characters I dont care about
- Overall this was a story about trauma and how it can really change you, if you look at it that way it was done well enough

... Cons:
- most of season 3 felt like filler... thats not good for a conclusion
- jokes were not as good as season2, better then season 1
- only Mob and the master had any amount of meaningful growth
- the final boss of the show was VERY predictable
- I wish death ment something in the show...
- music still not great
- there was clearly budget cuts or something as the animation and art got real bad through out the season
- the conclusion was just... ok which is not acceptable as an end
- most of the lessons they tried to convey fell pretty flat

Season 1: 6/10
Season 2: 6.5/10 - 7.0/10
Season 3: 6.25/10
Show Overall rating 6.25/10

Overall Mob psycho in time will only be remembered for its pretty unique art style for its time, its story, charecters and plot are all pretty forgettable. I enjoyed the run well enough but this show as a whole sits just bellow my bench mark of where I go out of my way to recommend / talk about something which is 6.5/10. Like I said for season1, im sure this will be some peoples favorite anime of all time and get many 8/10+ ratings and that this show just is not for me.

A disappointing conclusion to a great anime.

After watching the excellent Season 2 late last year, I was really looking forward to Mob Psycho 3 but decided to hold off on it due to the change in voice actors which I found quite jarring. Now that I've finally gotten around to watching it I'm honestly pretty disappointed. This season for me was a mess, with terrible pacing, episodes that feel completely out of place, storylines that don't really go anywhere or relate to an overarching plot. It just feels very messy to me.

I started to get hooked towards the middle of the season as Mob finds ... himself in a difficult situation but then it just quickly boils over and the show just goes back to being a happy slice of life anime which I found bizarre. Episode 8 in particular made me question why I was even watching the show, its so out of place. Tonally the show is all over the place and doesn't even seem to know itself what story it is trying to tell. Just random episodes that feel disconnected except for a couple of episodes in the first half relating to Dimple which felt like they were building towards something greater only to fizzle out.

This season also has by far the weakest fight scenes of any season with a serious lack of action that made the show quite boring at times, aside from one episode with Dimple which I found to be excellent. The voice acting is decent but I do think the replacements for some of the actors are a downgrade and I think its a joke the way in which Crunchyroll handled the dub situation. Also the ending to me was very unsatisfying and quite random.

Despite my issues with this season, there is still great animation, likeable characters, funny moments and some level of entertainment here. I was just very underwhelmed mainly due to the lack of action and lack of a real plot and especially after how great season 2 was. The fact that this season is rated so highly on MyAnimeList is crazy to me.
