Yeah, for Steins;gate I had the exact same feeling. Amazed it's so popular given how dull the start was. It just felt like it was going nowhere and the lead was so unlikable without interesting enough characters to surround him. I looked up and apparently it gets slightly(?) better later (and there's a reason his awful personality without everyone abandoning him), but if you can't have semi-interesting characters halfway in, who's going to watch that?

Yep that’s the one. You can watch the spin-off later if you enjoy the main series.

Btw I noticed that you’ve already added Tensura: Slime Diaries to your PTW and that’s more like a spin-off anime of the main series, so I think you should first watch the main series to get a better idea of the story and the characters.

Yep Tensura is really good and I had a great time watching it. I highly recommend it specially if you like watching Isekai anime.
