Dr. Stone: New World Part 2

Years ago, astronaut Byakuya left behind precious materials in the belief that his son, the scientifically-gifted Senkuu, would one day find them. In the present, the Kingdom of Science's Kohaku and Ginrou have infiltrated the harem of the Petrification Kingdom’s leader with the help of Amaryllis, a local girl. At first, their mission progresses without a hitch. Unfortunately, an error enacted by Kohaku and Ginrou leads Minister Ibara and the Island’s strongest warrior, Moz, to identify the intruding duo as enemies.

Even worse, Moz tails Amaryllis when she returns to inform Senkuu of the news, discovering the scientist's secret hideout. However, Moz's agenda does not align with Ibara's—he wants to dethrone the minister and keep the petrification device for himself. If Senkuu plays his cards right, he could gain a powerful ally and win the war once and for all.

basically feels like more of the same. not in a bad way, just very similar to part 1. this show still isn’t super deep or mind blowing but it’s fun and has some exciting moments here and there, so i still enjoy watching it. im still not a fan of the animation style, it’s just not my thing but i really love the character designs. they’re so quirky and weird and that’s honestly half the charm of the show for me.

one thing i did like is that this part actually has a main villain, which makes the story move in a more natural direction than ... before. It gives the show a clearer goal. but at the same time, there’s zero suspense left now bcuz of the medusa. we all just know that if someone gets hurt, they’ll just petrify them and then revive them with the fluid and boom, fixed. that kinda kills any tension, because nobody really feels “at risk” anymore.

still, even without suspense, the show never drags. it’s packed with wild science experiments and a bunch of selfish or strategic decisions from the characters, which makes it more fun for me.

Mixed Feelings

"fly me to the moon"
I only liked the first season, a brilliant idea of ​​mixing shounen with science, searching for a solution to a very complex puzzle, but the journey is not without excitement and adventure. For me, the matter became trivial after the first season, you could understand the obstacles that the writer faced in terms of balancing between the purifier and the Stone Age, but the balance was completely lost, so we moved from making simple things where it was very exciting to making things that are impossible to make without heavy machines, and here we are entering the stage of traveling to ... the moon. Simply put, the matter became crazy and it seems that the writer has lost his ideas, so he began to stumble in trying to continue balancing between shounen and science.

Did 3rd season part 1 make for a good lullaby before bed? Well prepare to wake the f*** up samurai, because its BATTLE SHOUNEN TIME, thats right! Dr. Stone is now a battle shounen! Even if the mangaka smoked the wrong stuff during his creative spurt. How one goes from restoring humanity with scientific trial and error, to a fever dream is frankly unexplainable. So, do you love Beyblade and many other kodomomuke battle shounen? Well Part 2 of season 3 delivers almost too in this category, if not, prepare to cry tears, of disappointment! As you wade through a complete disaster.
