Before, i said 2013 because Shingeki no Kyojin is from 2013.

Yeah I didn't hear many good things about the story. 0 still has the best story and I have played all the Yakuza games, they just really delivered with that game. The rest are more flawed and have some bad twists etc.

I think if you are more invested in Haruka you dislike the story more since she was kind of dumbed down, it doesn't fit her character from the previous games to do something like this.

I kind of wish they didn't use this new engine for Kiryu's last game. Its his finale, they should have gone all in.

Yeah Kiwami had some really frustrating boss fights in general.

Personally didn't care for Yumi, she didn't have much character and barely appeared but I definitely felt bad for Kiryu & Haruka. It was especially shitty for Kiryu who lost so much in a short time (two good friends with Reina and Shinji, his father figure with Kazama, old best bro and then love of his life..wtf).

I think Nishki's end was the saddest part. His character transformation was well done in Kiwami (the cutscenes about him after Kiryu goes to prison were all new and not part of the original game) and it was just sad to see the bro from Zero go that dark direction. What did you think about him and the overall story?

Haven't played Yakuza 6 yet. Have you already bought it?

Yeah I get that. Even if we get Kiwami 3-5, it will still take some years so I understand not wanting to be patient (I wouldn't be either).

Recaps will definitely help a bit.

Agreed, Yakuza 0 is overall the best Yakuza game. They really learned a lot from previous games (including 1) and delivered a well crafted game. Kiwami is fun but it still has some of Y1's flaws like the ridiculous boss fights.

Ok I won't spoil the story, it gets really emotional yet, thats all I'm going to say. Taking a break makes sense, Kiwami is just too similiar to Zero.

Definitely but sadly without Y3-Y5, some of the impact of Y6 will probably be lost for you since it has some connections with those games. The beginning picks off right where Y5 let off for an example

Really glad to see that Yakuza 0 introduced so many people to this great franchise.

What are your thoughts on Yakuza 0 and Kiwami? Which did you prefer? Who are your favourite characters so far?

Same, really surprised they are already releasing Kiwami 2 so soon in the west. 4 Yakuza games in 2 years is pretty great. I hope they make Kiwami versions of 3,4 and 5 as well so new fans like you can enjoy them.
