Since it's made by Bones, I will. Though I'm not sure when that'll be, there's so many anime I have my sights on first.

I also have a recommendation for you; it's a pretty well-hidden gem called
which is a masterpiece; a victory for anime and anime fans all around the world.

That sounds nice, and since Oshi no Ko actually became popular the series won't need to sit and rot for years wthout any followup. Since the manga is still going, surely they won't try to rush an ending in the second season, so many series have already tried this and it never works.

Thank you for a nice summary, I will be taking a look at some of these over this year🧐 And yeah every year is gonna be weak in comparison to 2007 (higurashi Kai release) so I understand how you feel. Do you feel like Oshi no Ko warranted its insane popularity?

Years have passed, but... I do not age. Time has lost its effect on me.

Yet, the suffering continues. Aku's grasp chokes the past, present... and future. Hope is lost.

Got to get back — back to the past... Samurai Jack.

Also Hikaru no Go's OST insanely carried the anime. Absolute bangers like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lhmeru_SYW4
The internet cafe arc took me back man, back to the past of computer gaming.

Lunder Favourite Anime of All Time
Fact

You rewatched 27 series and movies, and still didn't watch Higurashi Kai. I can't believe this. In Japan, it's bad manners to not finish what you started.

Anyways, what was your favourite of the past year? Anything that stood out?
SMGJohn Jun 3, 10:07 AM
Since January of 2023 I have seen 26,9 days worth of anime in one year, 1573 episodes in total and 46 series/movies completed and I re-watched 27 series/movies.

Considering there is 365 days in one year I spent a total of 7.4% of my year watching anime.

A 0.3% increase over 2022

Hikaru no Go is on a priority list for me once I finish my journey with the entirety of Macross, especially after my brief discussion with my buddy Gexis. I watched Chihayafuru this year and I needed to find something like it

"You become heart broken when the series ends, its over, thats it, no more, its like loosing a good friend.
Its a really nasty feeling, and leaves you depressed for a day or two". You sir have been diagnosed with Post Series Deperession. That feeling of Pokemon Hearthurt and Pokemon Soulsad will feel like it lasts forever. The way I cope with it is to obsessively look for a similar series as to one that made me feel that way. Hence my copium of finishing Chihayafuru a couple months back and wanting to find something like it.

There's these two videos I would like for you to see ( If you haven't already seen it lol ) but it seems like you went through the same philosophical journey that he and I did within the last decade.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyBGYD07NyU

and most specifically this time stamp.

https://youtu.be/ty9ggzQDJ34?t=1251

Bouncing back on your previous sentence before this though, Summertime Rendering is without a doubt one of the best thriller, mystery, psychological series I've seen in a long time of watching anime. I'll leave it at that before I end up writing an entire essay about the specific itches it scratched for me.

I question myself sometimes. I'm certainly unhinged. Perhaps it's out of sheer passion mixed with obligation? Maybe it's because I "gameified" it in my brain? I can trace back where the journey started and I know where my end goal is. Quite frankly it scares me knowing that I might reach the "End" of that goal within the next decade. I might keel over with a case of what the hell do I do now?

I can say one thing for certain is that it's much harder to watch something that's not airing for most people. I probably wouldn't be completing as much as I do. Most of the time people are very intimidated when they see X number of episodes and are simply daunted by the choice of time commitment alone. (Reasons why it's so hard for me to get people into One Piece or any other long running anime that won't stop me from trying).

Also, I got to try what you do with AR glasses. Just doing that alone sounds fun in itself.

I am still waiting in the land of Wano. Going to reach 2000 by the end of this year!

japanese anime is banned in north korea. and since you're a north korea supporter you should stop watching anime for the rest of your life to stop the hypocrisy
