Chargeman Ken.... Oh, Chargeman Ken. Probably one of the few anime everyone can cohesively say is the worst anime ever made. But oh, that's the charm of the entire anime.

I first discovered Chargeman Ken by this video by Kenny Lauderdale that a friend sent to me — https://youtu.be/uczvIKDcnS4 (this is not sponsored in any way) — and I watched this in disbelief. Surely there can't be an anime as bad as Kenny's saying. It can't be as lazy, thrown together and hash tag as anyone is saying in the comments. It just couldn't be.

So I went with a few episodes Kenny highlighted in the video read more

I adore this show with every fiber of my being. I was genuinely disappointed when I finished it because I knew I wouldn't be able to experience anything so beautifully terrible again.

Never in my life did I think there could be an anime so staggeringly lazy, so bafflingly inept, so utterly spellbinding in how it gets everything wrong in the most spectacular way possible.
Chargeman Ken makes Mars of Destruction, Skelter+Heaven, and Garzey's Wing look almost competent by comparison.

I could go into incredible details explaining why this show is a disaster on every conceivable level, but I implore you to watch it knowing as little as read more

Chargeman Ken is one of the most fascinating pieces of animation that I've seen in ages, despite the fact that it barely moves.

Objectively, it's probably the worst anime I've ever seen, but that absolutely does not mean it is unwatchable. It's a perfect train wreck of baffling decisions and laziness that all comes together into a surreal comedy.

Every episode is horribly written, horribly drawn, horribly animated, and horribly acted, but the bite-size runtime of 5 minutes means it never drags. My husband and I started watching one episode while we have our morning coffee, but inevitably we end up saying "one more, just one more".

Honestly, read more

This show is amazing. It's an utter catastrophe in nearly every aspect of it's production and execution. This is "The Room" of anime

Watch as a young child transforms into a superhero and callously kills many, many innocent people. Particular highlights include watching a man shoot himself after pretending to be mentally ill, another old man being driven to suicide by evil aliens who leave nooses around him, our hero crashing his spaceship into a plane and essentially killing hundreds of people, an episode where somebody is forced to be an arsonist, and who could forget the episode where Ken kills his sister's crush (who is read more
