Chargeman Ken! is a meme... a So bad it's Good anime that turned into Japanese golden Meme!

Everything about it is wrong!

Animation is like Speed Racer but even more Terrible. (1/10)

Characters are Dumb and awful. (1/10)

Music is WAAAAY too corny and awkward (1/10)

Story... PFFT what Story? it's just typical stories of the Hero saving the day all day (1/10)

Enjoyment was the best part because of how awful it is (10/10)

Chargeman Ken has:
— Ok voice acting.
— Poor artwork, even for the 1970's. Remember, a lot of anime in the 70s had at least passable animation.
— Bad sound effects. In addition, most of the time, there's no sound at all. There will be complete silence for a good couple of seconds before someone finally speaks and by then, the episode is almost done.
— Recycled animation to the extremes. It's ridiculous. I know it was the 70s but again, there were quality works even in that time.
— The plotlines are ridiculous, repetitive and predictable. Bad guy (mostly the aliens) evil, sometimes there's a side read more

Chargeman Ken is one of the most fascinating pieces of animation that I've seen in ages, despite the fact that it barely moves.

Objectively, it's probably the worst anime I've ever seen, but that absolutely does not mean it is unwatchable. It's a perfect train wreck of baffling decisions and laziness that all comes together into a surreal comedy.

Every episode is horribly written, horribly drawn, horribly animated, and horribly acted, but the bite-size runtime of 5 minutes means it never drags. My husband and I started watching one episode while we have our morning coffee, but inevitably we end up saying "one more, just one more".

Honestly, read more

This show is amazing. It's an utter catastrophe in nearly every aspect of it's production and execution. This is "The Room" of anime

Watch as a young child transforms into a superhero and callously kills many, many innocent people. Particular highlights include watching a man shoot himself after pretending to be mentally ill, another old man being driven to suicide by evil aliens who leave nooses around him, our hero crashing his spaceship into a plane and essentially killing hundreds of people, an episode where somebody is forced to be an arsonist, and who could forget the episode where Ken kills his sister's crush (who is read more
