Not gonna lie, very different from what I was expecting.

At the time, I was new to the isekai-reincarnation-villainess genre. This Webtoon was one of the first that got me into the genre.

What makes this Webtoon different from the others was the main character coming back to take on the revenge, rather than only preventing her death from her previous life. She used her wits and pervious knowledge of the past to get back the life she always wanted. There are interesting twists to the story and you really feel enraged with the antagonists, which the author does a good job at.

A good ... story with lovable side characters.

While it was a good distraction, I found myself hoping there was more character development for all characters, including villains. We see the main character grow a lot, but it was too quick and only because she has been through it all already. There is very little development otherwise for all characters involved. The characters are plain and one dimensional, they are either straight up good people or down right bad dumb people, which is a bit boring and disappointing. So if you are looking for an interesting read, this is not it. If you are looking for a time killer, fire ahead.

Webtoon has been bringing on to many of these weird revenge romance stories. Even if they manage to make me like them, they make me feel guilty and they beat the stuffing out of the trauma suffered by the characters. The story started off alright too.

The series was a letdown. Despite its intriguing premise, the execution fell short in several areas, resulting in a story that was ultimately unsatisfying.

Firstly, the characters were not well-developed, and it was difficult to connect with them on an emotional level. Jiwon, the protagonist, had potential as a strong female lead seeking revenge, but her motivations were not fully explored, ... and her actions often felt contrived. The other characters were mostly one-dimensional, with little depth or nuance.

The plot also felt rushed and poorly paced. The series attempted to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time, and as a result, many plot points and character arcs felt underdeveloped. The series tried to blend romance, drama, and revenge elements but didn't do justice to any of them.

Furthermore, the art style of Marry My Husband was average at best. While it wasn't terrible, it lacked the charm and personality of many other webtoons. The characters' designs were not particularly memorable, and the backgrounds were often bland.

In conclusion, while Marry My Husband had an interesting premise, the execution failed to deliver. With one-dimensional characters, a rushed plot, and average artwork, the series left a lot to be desired. As a critical reader, I would give Marry My Husband a 4 out of 10. While it may still be worth a read for those interested in the revenge romance genre, it is not a series that I would highly recommend.
