Ah, festival day with fireworks.

Kinda the perfect day for Summer time. It's nice to see Pikari getting more spotlight and even making a new friend this episode. Pikari is so friendly, easily any character can make friends with.

I bet there will be more festival events in the future as it's very fitting for a show like this.

The girls looked great in their yutaka :D

Great episode again.

Is Kokoro-chan a boy or girl? Pikari seems pretty sure Kokoro is a girl but I'm still suspicious. xD

Things got pretty violent there with the octopus and the eel. :o

Aria-bucho making noises into the fan was absolutely hilarious. xD

The fireworks were absolutely beautiful, so sweet of Pikari to work hard so that they could all get first row seats. Pikari needs to be treasured. <3
Mato-chan sensei has a big nostalgia burst. :3

The scene with all the eggs hatching and the little octopus's emerging from the shelter was absolutely stunning. Fantastic visuals too.

Hmm they found an octopus and its nest huh. Pikari sure met an interesting kid though. The struggle between the octopus and the eel while brief was fun. The cat's though were hillarious. Hmm both Hikari and Futaba's yukata's look amazing. The monkey themed yukata would no doubt be a funny one. Wow Hikari's secret weapon sure gave them a front row seat. The trivia about the octopus though was interesting. The sight of seeing all those little octopuses hatch and float away though was beautiful. A slow paced but calming episode. The festival and the octopus scenes sure contrasted well with each other.

Kokoro means heart and a name used for girls.
Tho she to herself with ore instead of atashi or uchi which is usually used by girls, usually masculine girls use boku which is the male way to say i.
Ore isn't formal and in same cases even rude to use, it's almost exclusively by men.

This episode was nice i really like the octopus.

I also forgot how adorable Pikari were :3, looks like she found another friend to dive with :D That scene with the mini octopus was absolutely fantastic.

Teko getting quite jelly with Kokoro though xD

When Kokoro was introduced, I thought they were adding a shouta into the cast. I wonder if she will end up becoming the Ai-chan of Amanchu.

And lol @ Teko getting jealous because Pikari was hanging out with a new female friend. They should just start dating already.

Liked this episode much more than the first one, especially the scenes at the Amanchu-ya, showing Pikari working. Just the kind of SoL I like to see.

I really want Pikari and Teko to rip each other's yukatas off with their teeth and make love under the fireworks. Is that too much to ask?

As a diehard supporter of Pikari/Teko, I almost feel threatened by the presence of Kokoro and the intimate scene they shared with Pikari at the end of the episode. Pikari referring to their first meeting as a "date" was also a red flag. However, I would hope that Pikari wouldn't be stupid enough to fall for an angsty grade schooler over Teko, who is perfect.

Then again...remember how in the first season it was established that the big cat's going to fuck the little cat at some point? As wholesome as it is most of the time, this show's no stranger to unhealthy sexual dynamics.

Pikari met Kokoro this week for a story about the circle of(aquatic) life. Momtopus wasn't havin' any of that eel's shit! Between the fireworks and birth of the babies there were some stunning visuals, though I did miss Teko. Good thing she seems to be taking back focus again next week!

They adapted 2 manga chapters this time, I don't remember if they used to adapt more of one in the first season, but they did it so we could get the firework chapter with the Kokoro one so it was good.

Seeing Teko's jelousy is so cute. I wish this were a shoujo ai.

And the animation is as awsome as always.

Yeah, the art in this show is really detailed. Probably because iirc, unlike most anime, this show is animated in 1080p, rather than 720p.

Quite a comfy episode. I'm always puzzled at the fact they open their eyes and mouth in the water and they can seem to hold their breath with no apparent effort. Maybe they're part of the sea people from Nagi no Asukara?

So, about Kokoro: SPOILER AHEAD, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. Your doubts are answered in volume 10 of the manga, which probably won't be adapted in this season due to the short amount of episodes available. If you really want to know...
(It's supposed not to discuss the manga beyond this point, but I guess it's fine if I hide it with the spoiler button.)

If you're seeking that in a series by Kozue Amano, you'll likely be disappointed. I mean, there's romance in them, but not to an erotic level.

I mean, the erotic level is unnecessary (though much appreciated), as I care much more about the yuri than anything else.

Good, I was trying to make sure that people didn't come into this show with the wrong expectations XD
As for the yuri itself... I'm not still 100% sure about that either. Despite the evident yuri tones of the anime, the original manga is much more subtle about their relationship and it is still not clear to me whether they're in love or not (if we take the original work as a reference). I love it either way.

If the first season of Amanchu was about the exploration of the ocean and the girls achieving getting a divers license, then the second season is about the characters and their relationships.

So far this has held true as we watch the girls grow closer together and have fun. Inside it all is a realization that this won't last forever. The series up to this point has had some very serious yuri undertones between Pikari and Teko since the first episode of Amanchu Advance. Currently the episode titles are:

The Story of One Summer Night and a Confession
The Story of Midsummer and Sparkling Eyes
The Story of the Pro and the Expert of Happiness

All the titles elude to a physical or emotional trait within a character in a story. I know its not listed in the genres, but I do believe its very shoujo ai like. Thats not the sole reason I like Amanchu Advance. I love the character relationships and how well they are done. Its paced rather well and the use of an acoustic guitar to set the melancholic mood does wonders to a scene. Most of all, the backdrops and color of the world really bring this anime to life. The scene in question when Hikari teaches Kokoro about the ocean and its cycle of life and death and seeing the rebirth aspect in person is poetry in motion, beautiful. The first two episodes have definitely developed Pikaris and Tekos relationship in shoujo ai, and judging from the next episode preview thats not gonna stop anytime soon. Heck Teko got jealous when Pikari was talking about her "date" with Kokoro. I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Amanchu Advance is an incredibly relaxing show. Best watching after you see something that ticks you off. Kinda like the 14th craptastic episode of Darling in the Franxx.

I hope Kokoro becomes a regular in this season... she seems like the perfect addition to the team. I really like her already =w=

oh what an amazing episode but I feel so bad for teko. I need more episodes why did this episode end so quickly? I hope we get to see more of kokoro-chan I loved her inclusion and how her and pikari bonded over the octopus mom and her babies. I'm a little sad that teko didn't really get much screen time and that we didn't get to see the monkey themed yukata.

I understand Teko. Everyone does love Pikari. She's just so lovable.

But the amount of strong attachment even miles away warmed my heart. And their Yukatas were so SO CUTE.

The whole story with Kokoro and Pikari was endearing and such a sweet relationship. I really like the naivety and persona of Kokoro. Despite her being slight competition for Pikari affection hehe.

Is she even a girl? I bet Kokoro is a man albeit 10-11 years old probably. From neoprene it was hard to tell but there were several flags before. Otherwise they would probably introduce this new character less ambiguously.
