The protagonists of these series have overpowered psychic abilities, so much that no one stand a chance against them. They actually have to restrain themselves so that no one else gets hurt. A big difference is that, in case of Mob Psycho, Shigeo is portrayed as a character who is as simple as he can be, so everyone at first glance won't pay any attention to him. On the other hand, Saiki from Saiki Kusuo tries his best to avoid any type of attention, and realizes no matter what he does he is going to be at the center of every little and big events around him.

If you liked the comedic aspects of MP100, Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan (TV) has got you covered for me. The latter lacks the intensity of MP100, but its quick wit and fast pace is enough to keep you hooked.

If you enjoyed the comedic side of Mob Psycho, you'll definitely like Saiki Kusuo, a much less serious gag comedy focused around its similarly overpowered protagonist. While Mob is a bit out of it, Saiki is relentlessly cynical and sarcastic, giving the show a more intense, hilarious vibe compared to MP100. Don't expect touching plot or drama from Saiki K, but it's a great watch anyways. Likewise, if you enjoyed Saiki K but wish it was a tad more serious/dramatic, MP100 is wonderful. Both are great, highly recommend.

Mob Psycho 100 and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. are both ridiculous, over the top comedy series about a teenage boy with superpowers. Each show has a part where the main character bends a spoon with his powers. There is a girl with dark blue hair who, in Mob Psycho 100, Mob has a crush on her. While in The Disastrous life of Saiki K., everyone else has a crush on her.

Just watch it and trust me. It's kinda similar. It's both really funny and random humor. Both characters are really strong. Difference is that saiki really is about the comedy but at mob pyscho it's also about crazy fighting scenes. So if you liked the overpowered part and comedy part definitely watch saiki. If you only liked the fighting part than saiki is not for you.

They both have Powerfull Protagonists that have problems dealing with the problems caused by their powers, yet The Disastrious Life of Saiki Kusuo has a more comedic tone and the main character shows more emotions.

Do you like psychics??!! Do you want to have a good time with a crazy and most of the times non-sense plot?? Unique characters that can't be possibly be taken seriously? Well, those shows are made for you. Two unique characters with crazy overpowered psychic abilities trying to live a normal life that will bring awkward and sometimes hilarious situation.

While the comedy is vastly different and Saiki K is episodic in nature, both anime do feature protagonists who are ESPers. Both are extremely funny and ridiculous, but Saiki K is more of a gag comedy that focuses on the silliness of the characters rather than the situations like in Mob Psycho. If you liked one, you're sure to like the other

I'm sure this connection has been made countless times but it's for completely valid reasoning.

Both share a very similar concept: MC is a school kid with overpowered psychic abilities. 
There is a heavy focus of comedy in both series.
Despite their very similar concepts, the execution is completely different for both series, with Mob Psycho 100 opting to have a few serious parts, whereas Saiki K. is primarily humour.
The animation in Mob Psycho 100 is simply breathtaking. By comparison, Saiki K. is rather lacking in those departments, though that doesn't tarnish the experience whatsoever.

TL;DR if you liked either series, you will more than likely enjoy the other. ^^ read more

Both involve overpowered psychics who don't use their powers too often for reasons. Along with a ridiculous cast of characters, but Mob Psycho 100 has a different way of storytelling and a very different art style. Both are funny though.

Mob Psycho 100 and Saiki Kusuo Psi-Nan have similar protagonists. Mob and Saiki have psychic powers and both are in school. However, as Mob uses his powers to fight villains, Saiki uses his powers to do daily chores and problems. Although both have comedy, Mob Psycho 100 have more action sequences while Saiki has more comedy.

Both these shows draw from the exact same premise. A teenage schoolboy (one in middle school and one in high school) have to deal with having psychic powers. However while they are similar in premise, they explore the idea in very different ways. Mob Psycho is primarily an action comedy while Saiki takes a more comedic approach. However both are equally great watches, even if for different reasons.

If you like the comedy in Mob Psycho 100, you will probably find The Disastrous Life of Saiki K funny as well. Both shows follow a similar plot of the protagonist holding psychic powers and experiencing the ups and downs with having those unlimited abilities. Just like Mob Psycho 100, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K has emotional, heart-warming moments. The main difference between the two shows is that The Disastrous Life of Saiki K seems more quick-paced, but that is not a bad thing.

If you like one, you'll definitely like the other. Both are comedies about a terribly over powered psychic doing his best to deal with high school life. Both try to limit the use of their powers, albeit not for the same reason. Heck, they even began airing with less than a month's difference (as well as the mangas).

Saiki is an introverted and sarcastic teen who thinks his powers, although useful, have very annoying drawbacks that stop him from either enjoying or suffering life. He just wants to live undisturbed, as normally and unnoticed as possible. Sadly, there are some very wacky and bothersome characters in school who cotinuously get in his way by trying to be his FRIENDS (how dare they!).

Kageyama (Mob) is a shy teen who's afraid of losing control of his powers and cause harm to someone. Instead of relying on abilities that, from his point of view, don't make him better or more special than others, he wants to become a better person through effort, like normal people. In this effort, he will befriend many wacky characters, who will encourage him to use his powers.

Saiki K. is all about comedy, with 5 minute episodes that throw joke after joke at the viewer. The show is fast-paced and very character-driven, with no overarching story, but a surprising amount of character development for something that's supposed to be just for the laughs.

Mob Psycho 100 is heavy in the comedy department, but also incorporates action and a bit of drama. It's mostly story-driven and has an overarching story, though character development is strong too. read more

introverts who possess immense psychic abilities? and they are not prideful about having supernatural powers? now that's what im talking about. These two have a special place in my heart as they both became my comfort anime. Although similar vibes, mob focuses more on action packed scenes, while saiki concentrates on the satire aspect. As for their personalities they are quite distinct: mob is comfortable showing a vulnerable side to him and isnt afraid to show his kindness and empathy towards others, while saiki tends to always hide his good intentions behind a cold exterior facade, he is known to have a more blunt and straightforward personality. I have a soft spot for both anime so i highly recommend watching these series.

they are both about a person with sycic abilitey and that are not happy with thear lives but in diffrent vayes. These shows are qouit simallar but saiki ficuses more on comdy slice of life and dosnt really have a big plot it follows, its baissily like the episods of mob when they dont really do anytthing but dickaround.

If you dont know saiki is about a guy with sykick powers like he baisiklly have evry power know that dosnt maek him happy qouit the oppiset, he hates that he has never workt for enything and cant even go to the movies becuse he can read minds so evry movie gets spoiled. He hates anintion he just wants to live an univentful life but it never gos his way there are a lot of pepol that just want to hang out with him or are in love with him witch he hates. I would say whatch it if you like dialog focust humar, slice of life, pardoy on the normal anime tropes and saiki is the kind of character that breaks the 4th wall but its acully funny when he dose it.

watch its on netflix but watch the originall the renewd netflic original did not caputer the same spirt as the first one but its not bad in my opinon just not as good and personly i like the dub better.

Both shows are comedies with overpowered psychic characters surrounded by mostly incompetent people. Saiki K's short burst episodes are quirky and fun while Mob Psycho has more of a continuous story. I found both shows hilarious but Mob Psycho to have more unexpected situations. Comedic anime fans will love both shows.

These two are very similar in the foundation of the characters and their interactions. Both have an op psychic protagonists who attract wacky characters, which leads to funny interactions and situations. The biggest difference is that mob psycho has an actual serious plotline, but saiki focuses solely on the comedic aspect. Aside from the fact that both protagonists are psychic they don't have much in common personality wise as well tbh.

So can two things be any more similar than this, well as far as we're talking about the main leads I can bet you it can't.

Saiki in The disastrous life of Saiki-K and Shigeo in Mob psycho 100, they both have psychic powers, which obviously they aren't very fond of. But this will lead them on a journey to be acquainted with many and many different individuals, which will open a path for them to break out of their shell and to lead a normal, usual way of living which they certainly dreamt of at some point of time. So yeah looking for a character driven plot with loads of comedy go for Saiki-K, and if both of these plus some typical shounen style fights then go for Mob psycho 100. read more

Recommending Saiki K. for fans of Mob Psycho 100 feels a little redundant at this point; after all, I'm the 50th person to do so. But you can't go wrong with fifty recommendations - these shows are remarkably similar, with the only real difference being the style of humor. MP100 is more plot-oriented, while Saiki K. is gag-based shorts. Still, they're pretty much the same show, and if you like one, I can't imagine why you wouldn't like the other.

The main character has physic powers and each character has depth to them and character development happens gradually as you watch them in comical and serious situations-although compared to Saiki K. it a bit more focused on fighting and plot but still has the funny situations the mc has to try not to get involved in fully-All in all it is worth your time if you like the idea of ordinary people who happen to have psychic powers

Whenever I have anyone show interest in Mob Psycho, I always recommend The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. The concept itself of a young male lead with some form of enahnced power is alike for both series. While Mob Psycho generally focuses on its underlying plot point, it does also depict day-to-day experiences of its significant characters. As with Saiki K, each episode displays a slice of life aspect to the viewers involving various adversities and conflicts between the characters. While the goals of each main character differ from the other, the challenges they face are similar as they both struggle with forms of social and emotional acceptance. read more

It has the same high-school setting, and both main characters are espurr's who have their fair share of struggles in their own life due to their powers. Both characters want a normal life, in addition, there are also quirky side characters in both anime that create funny and uncomfortable situations. This is a great anime if you want a show similar to Mob Psycho but is less serious and funnier with some slice of life.

Little guys with psychic powers! Both are hilarious to watch while still keeping some aspects of action involved. In Saiki K, the main character is more annoyed with his powers and puts in great efforts to hide them, while in Mob Psycho the main character doesn't really care and works for a silly conman. All of the characters are so fun to watch I love both of these animes!! They're great for some light binging or even entertainment while eating dinner.

They both have similar comedy. If you're interested in a long show that's similar to Saiki then Gintama is for you. It also can get dark and serious with some of my favourite arcs in anime coming out of those dark arcs. Also it has a less simplistic art-style then Saiki.

The protagonists have a lot in common: both are lazy but powerful, compelling, have a sweet tooth, and are absolute sadists (who doesn't love sadists :D). The characters are all unique and lovable and their traits are what make the silly gags/jokes so great and hilarious. The humor is pretty alike (though Gintama has more, well, "unsuitable for children" jokes) and will for sure make you cry with laughter at times :) If you liked the humor in Gintama, you'll most probably like Saiki Kusuo.

Essentially, Saiki K's comedy is executed almost exactly like Gintama. Both series break the 4th wall and make funny references based off of Japanese pop culture. This series also draws a unique cast of characters which make them really enjoyable to watch.

If you like your absurd comedy shounen jump anime like Gintama, Saiki Kusuo definitely hits that same exact spot. What can I  say they are just really damn fun to watch. Also while you are at it (and haven´t read /or seen it yet) Sket Dance is another great recommendation!

When watching Saiki K, I was immediately reminded of Sakamoto desu ga? because the humour is so similar. They both feature jokes and skits that involve the side characters who are for some reason obsessed with the protagonist. Saiki and sakamoto deal with the same sort of situations with a similar attitude, just with completely different methods.  If we could hear sakamoto's thoughts like we can saiki,  they would probably be very similar.  I wouldnt be surprised if sakamoto was a psychic as well lol.

￫ Gary Stu-type MC in a school setting, the only difference is that Saiki has psychic abilities (where Sakamoto only seems to have them).

The main characters have a very similar vibe. Both a school setting, but Sakamoto is more of a 'perfect' student that people try to sabotage, and Saiki K is more of a down-to-earth kinda guy

Both are funny parody anime with the MC being a very overpowered person. Both eventually also gain an 'apprentice' of sorts who is overwhelmed by their power. I love both as they are both very funny, so give Saiki Kusuo a chance if you love the humour of the series :]

Chances are if you enjoyed OPM, you liked its comedy. Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan cranks that up to 11 (don't worry about episode count, most sites make it 24 normal episodes).

- Both MC's are hilariously OP to the point of boredom
- They both feature the same type of comedy (but Saiki K. pulls it off better, OPM has better action)
- MC's have similar personalities (although Saiki K. is more cynical)
- Both have a colorful supporting cast full of wacky personalities

If you want more of One Punch Man's comedy, this is where you'll find it in bucketloads. Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan is THE funniest anime I've ever watched & I would definitely recommend it to fans of One Punch Man. read more

Both shows are comedies feature an OP main character for whom having powers is more of a disadvantage than a good thing. A big part of each show is the wacky group of supporting characters that appear over the show. However, Saiki K is more episodic and slice of life, while OPM has an overarching plot, but for me the jokes in Saiki K are much funnier.

If you enjoyed One Punch Man, you'll enjoy this. If you enjoyed One Punch Man but are not a fan of Shounen, you'll enjoy this.

The humor in both series is pretty similar and as someone that watched One Punch Man, it's pretty fun to watch. Without ignoring the similarities between both MCS of course! The only difference is that Saiki isn't bald- yet.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is like a slice-of-life remix of One Punch Man. I think someone who enjoyed OPM would find a lot to love in Saiki K. (and vice-versa). They're different enough to not feel like you're watching the same story, but similar enough not to stray too far outside your comfort zone.

They both feature protagonists who have god-tier, extremely OP abilities and are bored with life because nothing is ever challenging or can surprise them anymore. Saiki is a psychic who can read people's minds with ease, making it hard for him to live a normal life while being bombarded by the (often very eccentric) thoughts of everyone around him. Saitama, meanwhile, is an amateur superhero who's so strong he can defeat even the most powerful monster with a single punch — and when you're that strong, do fights even mean anything anymore? Where do you go when you've reached the very top of the power ceiling?

Both series have a similar sense of humor. Lots of gag humor and running jokes —especially ones about the MC being waaaaay too strong for the situation. Saitama's actually fighting seriously??? It's because it's coupon day at his local grocery store and he wants to get there before they're sold out. Saiki is mitigating conflict??? He's annoyed because he can read minds and knows exactly what everyone wants, and what HE wants is just some peace and quiet for a change.

Both have pretty wide and diverse casts of side characters who get a lot of screen time, while the protagonist frequently plays a more back-seat role. This is really just a result of having an overpowered MC. Hard to write a protagonist-centric story when Saitama can simply punch his way through everything and Saiki can just teleport the problem away whenever he so chooses. Not to say that the protagonists are boring (they're not), but you can expect a lot more of the action, screen time, and character development to come from the side characters. read more

There are many similarities...
OP MC trying to live an ordinary life, hiding his OP power, going to school. Using a limiter to keep powers in check. A girl chases him around, and she happens to be this super cool/perfect girl who would never go after an ordinary guy.... except she does. And she's persistent.

The main character has something he really likes - one loves coffee jelly (and sweets in general) while the other loves crispy noodles?

Both are also comedies.

There is also that one other guy who calls the MC "master" and bows to them. However, one MC has the ability to make people forget what happened, while the other does have hypnosis but.... doesn't have such a convenient power.

They also struggle with controlling their OP abilities, which causes many consequences that they have to resolve.

Some more differences:
The Chinese one has more action, as just about everyone (from what I've seen) have powers, while in Saiki K. only a few have psychic powers, and the titular character happens to have a bunch while the rest are ignorant. Xian Wang de Richang Shenghuo has way more action, and more sad moments, I guess.

From what I've seen so far, very similar, 100% worth watching one if you liked the other. Although the Chinese one has some subtitles which are a little off, it's not that bad.

It follows a similar premise, with an overpowered main character trying to fit into high school and hide his power, with a wacky cast of side characters. However, Saiki is a lot sassier and is constantly making sarcastic comments about his friends. An incredible subversion of many shonen tropes, this comedy anime is one of my favourites of all time.

Very similar shows. Both have overpowered protagonists who want to live normal lives, but end up having to use their abilities for good. The MC's friends also feel very similar. The main difference is that Saiki K is foremost a dry comedy, while Daily Life of the Immortal King is more action-oriented.

Both have a extremely overpowered protagonist who doesn't want their abilities to be shown. Both animes also have a if not partial school setting. I'd say the only thing to note is Xian Wang de Richang Senghou/The Daily Life of The Immortal King is a Chinese anime while Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan/The Disastrous Life of Saiki K is Japanese.

Both have so much similarities that it would not hurt to call Xian Wang De Richang Shenghou to be a rip off of Saiki Kusuo No Psi-Nan as the latter released much earlier than Xian Wang De Richang Shenghou
It's a ripoff with the author copying almost every aspect of saiki's life from his powers, to his parents behaviour, to how he was born, how many and how good the friends are, to even copying saiki Kusuo's memory erasing device (that design was so desperately added smh)
While I feel bad for Pure Xian Wang De Richang Shenghou fans but it's the truth

These anime are similar in so many ways.

1. They are both focused on comedy very strongly and try making the viewer laugh. And they both succeed with it. 

2. They are both divided in short stories that are mostly independent. Saiki has only 4-minutes per Episode. Danshi has a 20-minute episode divided in 3-4 short stories. So the length of one story in the anime are about the same what makes these two animes so similar.

3. Those two anime tell just about the daily lifes of schoolboys and a psychic. There is no major plot.

In conclusion: Both focused on comedy very strong, and both have short little episodes (about 5 min) telling the daily routine of the characters. 
I think there is nothing more similar for both of the animes.

Both Saiki. K and Daily Lives follow a very simple storyline with over the top unoriginal characters that hide no shame in being unoriginal. They are flawlessly genius comedy series portraying the realistic side of high school (although Daily Lives is focused almost entirely on males while Saiki focuses on male and female). Putting aside the hilarity of Saiki's psychic abilities both shows give off a very similar vibe that you can't find elsewhere.

Both series follow a rather comedic and unique cast of characters in the daily high-school lives. Though they have different premises, they are two of the funniest anime I have seen. One deals with a main character, Handa, who is completely oblivious to the fact that the whole school loves him. The other is about a character, Saiki Kusuo, who tries to avoid the limelight and hide his psychic powers. Additionally, both series have great dub and sub voice acting. I strongly recommend both series.

I actually watched Handa-kun first and loved it, so I was thrilled when I started watching Saiki and discovered it was similar in many regards. 
Both of the main characters are popular without realizing it and don't really want the attention they get.
They are both a bit sarcastic and standoffish and have a friend group that is introduced in such a way that it is easy for you to remember who is who.
I think the format of both these anime are very easy to digest: Saiki is broken down into 5-minute shorts while Handa-kun has about 2 to 3 different shorts in each episode until you reach the end.
The humor in both is also golden: they keep hitting you with joke after joke so something is bound to land. read more

Both of these anime are completely comedy based with little to no actual story building. The comedy in both of these series are hilarious as well. They are both episodic anime where the episodes don't relate to one another and each episode has multiple little stories in it . Also in both animes many characters are introduced that are minor characters but they still make appearances in future episodes.

The only big difference is the aspect of comedy. Handa can't read anyone emotions at all whereas on the other hand Saiki can read peoples emotions a bit too well.

Both animes show main characters surrounded by people when they just want to be left alone. In Saiki K, he is a guy with psychic powers, and in Handa kun he is a popular guy idolised by the rest if the school, but he thinks they all hate him. Both characters seem emotionally disconnected and cold. Both series have characters with vibrant and slightly overexaggerated personalities, with a similar sense of humor in its comedy. Both are in a Japnese high school setting, and follow these not-so-everyday characters through their everyday lives.

Both feel sort of similar in a way. I definitely think that if you enjoyed the humour in Saiki K that there is a good change you will enjoy what Uramichi Oniisan, even though the latter show has a slightly more realistic slice of life view of things.

The main characters, comedy, color pallets, and cast of characters are very similar. Even though the comedy from each show are mostly different, they both have the same vibe. I think anyone who enjoys Uramichi-Oniisan will find Saiki K just as or even more enjoying.

I think the comedy in both shows gives off the same vibe, despite being in completely different settings. The main characters are similar. If you liked the humor in Saiki, I'm sure you will like the humor in uramichi oniisan as well.

At first glance, these two series don't seem to have much in common, other than being comedies. So why am I recommending them? Simple: Hiroshi Kamiya. He voices both Saiki and Uramichi, and both characters have a very similar vibe of being completely done and fed up with their lives. If you enjoyed that aspect of Uramichi Oniisan, you may very well enjoy Saiki K. - or vice versa.

Both anime have fast-paced, offbeat humour, with a vibrant cast of characters. Saiki and Uramichi Oniisan have a similar deadpan outlook on life, with moments of softness and sentimentality that make them as likeable as they are. In a certain sense, Saiki can be considered as the "male" version of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, since while Nozaki parodies the shoujo's tropes, setting and characters, Saiki does the same, only with works for the shonen audience.  The only difference is that Nozaki is strongly focused on romance and sometimes are sentimental, while Saiki always remains a gag comedy with an unceasing parody and humor.

While Saiki Kusuo is parodying Shonen tropes, Gekkan Shoujo is parodying shoujo tropes.
Both have a similar type of humour, a collection of random story in one episode, and the characters are really unique.
The comparison between characters is like this
Saiki -> Nozaki
Teruhashi -> Chiyo
Mikoshiba -> Kaidou
I highly recommended both anime since it will make you laugh out loud alone in your quite room

High school anime paroding stereotypical characters and their relationships.

What else can I say.. The type of humor, the lenght of episodes (or "sketches"), typical "highschool" situations, unrequited love... If you were falling off your chair with laughter because of one, the same will probably happen with the other.

Both the Nozaki dub and Saiki K. can be interpreted as the everyday life of ace and/or romantic people, both of which have quite a fair bit of aromantic comedy that parody a lot of rom-com troupes. They have other very diverse humor as well with Nozaki-kun having a diverse cast while Saiki K. centers mostly around Saiki and his parody-like SCs

This seems weird at first, but these two shows are super similar. Saiki and Nozaki are uncannily similar, and the dynamic of each show's cast works in nearly the same way. If you want a good laugh, both of these have great dry humour that I seriously loved.

Both shows share genres and normalities, Komi-san has very vibrant side characters, which you can choose to find very entertaining or rather annoying, exactly like in Saiki K, where every character is an exaggeration of their respective archetype. Komi-san tends to lean more towards the romance side than Saiki K does, which I think is done better than Saiki K, while both are repetitive; Komi-san was more captivating, Saiki K being a more casual viewing experience for comedy lovers, more than Komi-san.

Komi has a similar gag with the side characters being completely over the top, unrealistic satires of different archetypes. I haven't finished the series yet, but certain aspects remind me a lot of Saiki, and they have a similar episodic structure. However, for me, the comedy is Komi doesn't land nearly as often, and the main draw of the show is more Komi and Tadano's relationship. Still, it's worth checking out if you enjoyed Saiki.

Both are comedies that are actually enjoyable and are not filled with second-hand embarrassment. The focus is more on the characters than on a relevant plot. Although not on the same level as Asobi Asobase, Sakiki does have its fair share of screaming and hilarious faces to go along with the anime. In general, their plots aren't alike but they have the same vibe.

They are both great gag comedies. while ones focus is cute girls, while the other involves an all powerful psychic and his friends. Both involve reaction faces and hilarious jokes.

Same absurd humour, same kind of silly crazy frenzy taken to a whole other level, where every over-the-top idea is just getting crazier and crazier. Saiki Kusuo is much more fast paced though, and there is a somewhat real plot - at least, a final goal and some character development.

The obvious comparison between these shows is the main characters... Both psychics with similar personalities (bar their intelligence) being forced into similar wacky situations. 

Both shows have a very similar style of humour and plot-layout as well. The main difference between these shows is the intent. Saiki is a more fast paced, skit based show intent on being as entertaining as possible whereas Hana starts off similar to that but quickly converts into a fairly heartfelt comedy with some real meaning behind it.

Comedy centering around characters with psychic powers is...not actually what I found to be the main similarity between these shows. What Hinamatsuri and Saiki Kusuo both share is a constantly developing world and characters, enriching the experience by keeping the jokes fresh and interesting as well as putting more weight behind them. 
This is comedy with thought behind it, that gets you to invest in the characters and their stories.

Both anime are pure comedy shows that revolve around a powerful psychic living their daily life. No one knows about their powers with the exception of their family and the few other espers that are far weaker than the mc.
Though the thing that really makes both of these shows similar is how the unique and funny set of characters interact with each other and the protagonist. They just stick to the mc like a flock of birds and shenanigans ensues.

The only real difference I could find between the shows is that Saiki is intelligent and tries to hide his powers while Hina is dumb and does so naturally.

Both shows are extremely funny too and their comedy style is really similar, so if you liked one of them then you'll definitely like the other. read more

Both of these are funny as hell, yet manage to be a feelgood kind of shows. Both have espers as main characters and both are emotionally stale. Which is fun. I swear. Hinamatsuri is more from the weird side of shows compared to SaikiK, especially how the storytelling goes.

Similar type of comedy shorts type feel, concerning a character and how hes not what he seems. Although more alike in 'vibes' i guess than plot, as Saiki Kusuo is definitely more extensive with a larger cast and somewhat of character development, but both shows are baseline feelgood comedies and I think if you enjoyed the comdey style in one youd like the other.

Both are fast-paced comedies with five minute segments compiled into longer episodes. The characters are all very intriguing (batsh*t crazy), expect it's kind of reversed in the fact that the main character in Saiki is the sane one while the main in Gokushufudou seems to be the oblivious one. They are both produced by the same studio as well, but I believe Saiki was done a bit better. I highly recommend both because they're simply hilarious and introduce situations that should normally never happen.

I instantly thought Beelzebub when I started watching Saiki. They are about high schoolers with unique attributes. They are both slap stick comedies with no deep plot and have episodes with stand alone plots.

Both feature an overpowered potagonist and his daily life

For Beelzebub it's Oga and his strenght (and baby Beelzebub) and for Saiki it's his psychic powers.

Both anime feature a silly, slapstick style of comedy, it gets very ridiculous at points but still remains funny.

The side-love intrests also remind me of eachother, Kunieda and Teruhashi both put up fronts but they actually are sensitive, timid girls on the inside and in denial of their love for the protagonists.

Both comedy anime that have so many similarites.

-Both mostly take places in school.
-Both MCs are overpowered.
-Both MC's parents look kinda similar (especially their father).
-Both have some delinquents and stupid characters (like Toujou and Nendou).
-Nendou's family have the same face like him. In Beelzebub, there's an episode where the people of the town have the same face like Shiroyama (lol).
-"Queen" Kunieda and "Princess" Teruhashi always imagining romantic scenes between them and the MC that will never happen.

If you enjoyed one, you might like the other.

somehow the exact same type of cast/characters, writing and comedy with the exact opposite plot/premise
- both shows will make you laugh way more than you expect (comedy gold mines)
- iruma and saiki are the exact opposites of each other personality wise but they both live with the goal of wishing to be seen as normal and blend in (even though their roles make it very unlikely)
- both main characters end up having like a fanclub's worth of friends without desiring it and it's great

Just watch it and trust me. It's kinda similar. It's both really funny and random humor. Both characters are really strong. Difference is that saiki really is about the comedy but at mob pyscho it's also about crazy fighting scenes. So if you liked the overpowered part and comedy part definitely watch saiki. If you only liked the fighting part than saiki is not for you.

Both have a pretty similar basic concept but Mob Psycho is more focused on the Mc trying to improve himself and getting along without his psychic powers while Saiki Kusuo is more of a comedy series.

they are both about a person with psychic ability and that are not happy with their lives but in different ways. These shows are quite similar but saiki focuses more on comedy slice of life and doesn't really have a big plot it follows, it's basically like the episodes of mob when they don't really do anything but mess around.

If you don't know, saiki is about a guy with psychic powers like he basically have every power know that doesn't make him happy quite the opposite, he hates that he has never worked for anything and cant even go to the movies because he can read minds so every movie gets spoiled. He hates animation he just wants to live an uneventful life but it never gos his way there are a lot of people that just want to hang out with him or are in love with him witch he hates. I would say watch it if you like dialog focused humor, slice of life, parody on the normal anime tropes and saiki is the kind of character that breaks the 4th wall but its actually funny when he does it.

watch its on netflix but watch the original the renewed netflix original did not capture the same spirt as the first one but its not bad in my opinion just not as good and personally i like the dub better.  read more

Yoshiko's childhood friend is somehow similar to Saiki.

- Deadpan, level-headed protagonist.
- So very punny.
- Fast paced gag humour.
- Colourful supporting cast with their own amusing and troublesome quirks (troublesome for the protagonist at least).

The setting is very different but the pacing and style of joke telling is pretty similar. Japanese knowledge is helpful because subbed puns can be hit or miss.

Ouran Koukou Host Club addpermalink

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K has many very similar aspects as Ouran High School Host Club. For starters, they're both comedies with similar senses of humor. They also have episodes which can be watched almost completely independently. There are no long-lasting arcs so you won't need to have watched the whole show to get each episode. If the rewatch value of OHSHC was admirable to you, then you'll find Saiki K to be the same. Overall, both are dumb fun anime which you can rewatch over and over when you're feeling down :)

Both are comedic anime, perfect for getting a good laugh at the end of the day. With each of them having characters with unique and interesting quirks, never a day goes by without some random and stupidly dumb events occurring.

Grand Blue is probably more age-restricted, as it contains content not suitable for younger children (such as drinking, nudity (censored) and suggestive ideas). However, this anime would definitely not be complete without such idiotic themes. It creates a large part of the plot and sets up the scene for many situations.

Saiki Kusuo has some supernatural elements and is a crucial factor in its own right. The plot surrounds a unique character who is born in a completely ordinary family, yet was special from birth, having possessed superpowers. It is these superpowers as well as the people he is surrounded by which creates a vast plot and stupidly funny scenes. read more

In terms of the comedy, style presented, both go for an in your face style that is quick, loud and entertaining if that is your preference in said comedy. Character interactions are very similar in tone and attitude too but one must keep in mind that this style of comedy is character focus around said events, so basically, liked the character and the pieces will fall into place.

As for Osomatsu-san there is no story as a whole, I think it's important that its recommendation is not just another anime with comedy. For Saiki Kusou is somewhat the same, there is no story outside of comedy to develop. It doesn't switch between comedy and story. It's just for comedy.

Anime: Boku no Tonari ni Ankoku Hakaishin ga Imasu.

The moment I saw the first episode of this show, I immediately thought of the Disastrous life of Saiki K. There are many things that are similar between the two shows which include: 
- similar genres (slice of life, comedy, school - the genres are present in similar style as well) 
- similar characters 
       - to elaborate: Koyuki and Kusuo share the desire to be normal, yet their daily lives are interrupted by the weird people around them. Hanadori and Kaido are normal high school students who believe they have some dark power contained within them, even though when they "release" it, they are helpless (and it's hilarious). If I had to compare Tsukimiya with anyone from Saiki K, it would be Kusuo's brother, Kuusuke. Both are weird genius' and both are annoying to the main character. Of course there are other characters I could compare to Saiki K, but those three, Koyuki, Hanadori, and Tsukimiya, are the main three.
- similar plots
      - I say this as in the plots really don't have anywhere to go, and that the story exists merely for comedy. However, a minor difference is that Saiki K has three (I think) small mini stories per episode and this show is just the regular continuous plot. It's not like the plots have anywhere to go besides comedy though. 

I do want to point out some differences so you can be aware of them and of course there is a major difference. While "A destructive god sits next to me" is just a slice of life comedy, Saiki K has the extra aspect of the supernatural, as in the main character is an extra powerful psychic who just seems to attract the weirdest people. However, the psychic powers just adds an extra kick to the comedy, the same kind of comedy that this show exhibits. Also, another difference is that Kusuo doesn't mind interacting with the weirdos, but he would prefer if they didn't talk to him. On the other hand, Koyuki just wants to get away from it all. In the beginning of the first episode he even makes it clear that he will not interact at all with Hanadori.  read more

Even though these series don't have similar stories, they'll both leave you with a smile.
So if you are looking for another show like Love is War, then I recommend Disastrous life of Saiki(or vice versa) because of their likeable and sometimes relatable characters.

-Both main girls(Teruhashi in "Saiki" and Kaguya in "Love is war") have the goal to make the main character fall in love with them but falls for them instead

When I watched Wan Sheng Jie, I immediately thought it was similar to Saiki K.

They're both Supernatural Slice-of-Life Comedies.
Saiki K. has a school theme while Wan Sheng Jie has more of a roommates theme.

And here are some similarity points: (I'll add more when I think of them.)

Characters-
There's a diverse cast in both, which are full of parodies. In Saiki K. there's the typical anime characters- delinquent, pretty girl, super energetic class rep, the stereotypical dumb guy, etc.. In Wan Sheng Jie there's typical supernatural creatures- the angel, vampire, werewolf, demon, mummy, etc.
Their personalities are also hilarious and fun to watch. Character to character interactions are great.

Story-
Both have a sort of overarching plot, but focus more on short episodes that are like their own standalone stories. Wan Sheng Jie's stories are shorter though.
Both anime are also hilarious and I would say they're 10/10 comedy.

Puns-
It's more the title and some character names and things like that. Wan Sheng Jie = 万圣街 or 万圣节 (one is the name of the anime, the second is "Halloween") --> and 1031 naturally stands for October 31, but anyway. Yes. Nice and punny.
In Saiki K, "Saiki Ku---" is a pun for "psychic".
Character names in Wan Sheng Jie are more related to the character species.
Character names in Saiki K. are puns on psychic powers. For example "Teruhashi" = "Telepathy" and "Hairo Kinsehi" = "Pyrokinesis" so it's all funny and punny.

Nanbaka addpermalink

Both shows, Saiki Kusuo and Nanbaka, have the similar factor of heavy comedy in the earlier episodes. Although Nanbaka strays away from comedy and focuses more on serious issues in the latter portion, Saiki Kusuo holds true to the comedic aspect and carries through 'till the end. 

If you've seen Nanbaka and enjoy the wit and humor of the characters, Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan is definitely something you should consider.

The character with supernatural God-like powers? check. High school comedy? check. Unusual or simply strange set of friends? check. Action? check, kinda. While Saiki is the level-headed protagonist, Haruhi is not, but the story-telling is similar (due to Kyon). Well if you enjoyed one, you would definitely like the other

They're both just so sweet. Ore Monogatari is basically Saiki K with the roles reversed. Suna is way too similar to Saiki and Takeo to Nendo. The two anime are both hilarious, they both follow an episodic way of story telling, but Saiki is more focused on the daily and funny lives of Kusuo and his friends while Ore Monogatari is just a sweet ol' fluffy romance show.

If you like Saiki K, you'll also enjoy Durarara!! Both shows poke fun at common anime tropes and aren't afraid to make fun of the audience. While Durarara!! does have more drama than Saiki K, the comedy is still there. It's very self aware.

Don't seem related at first, but enjoyed them for similar reasons. Both have a similar style of quick, cynical humour and clever writing, with Bunny girl senpai providing a more coherent story with a bigger emotional pay off. A good gateway anime before more dialouge heavy shows like March comes in like a lion and the Monogatari series.

Both shows are comedies that are totally hilarious.  But the thing that makes both shows similar is the format as both shows are told in five mini-episodes in one compilation episode.  Both shows are great comedies worth watching, but Saiki Kusuo is centered on one guy while Azumanga is about girls going crazy.

The two series are the showcase of the very best and the worst of J.C Staff.

For the fan of both franchise, I recommend to watch these two until the end. It's enjoyable.

For the casual viewers, watch out for a sudden disappointment with the production.

In general, comedy lovers and battle shounen maniac should take this ticket to ride.

While the two shows are different, they share some similarities. Both main characters have powers and will eventually meet other characters in their towns and have small events that the main character either solves or tries to avoid. While Saiki won't be fighting a main villain, it was pretty interesting to watch his daily life.

Similar vibes/tone/mood. No actual central plot and episodes are separated into three different sections about different random topics. Both are about the daily lives of the main character/characters with the main character being more of a judgemental, reactionary protagonist character. 
They also have somewhat similar art styles and a few similar soundtracks too. 

If you liked either one, I'm confident you'll enjoy the other.

I can't really explain it. But for some reason, every time I sit down and watch an episode of Urusei Yatsura (2022), it makes me think about The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. It's probably because it ticks a lot of the same boxes: an episodic story, fast-paced gag humor, crisp and colorful art, and most importantly, outrageous characters voiced by a talented cast of seiyuu.

Saiki is a more "affectionate" high-school comedy, whereas Aggretsuko is a biting satire against the workaholism in Japanese culture.

Both MC's have a very simple goal (sleeping and leading a normal life) and are trying their best to achieve that goal, while being in a situation that makes this very hard to achieve (being held hostage in the Devon lord's castle and having superpowers).
The comedy in both anime derives from the supporting characters reactions either to the MC or what's happening around them. So both anime have a pretty big and fleshed out supporting cast.

JoJo is campy while Psi is a parody, so they are different genres, but similar.
Psi has references to JoJo, such as a Jotaro-lookalike in the early episodes, sound texts representing intense situations, characters spelling their character's strategy and thinking a counter to it, a glorious GAR narrator explaining concepts in a bombastic style, shorts arcs, a silent protagonist (mostly applies to Jotaro again), etc.
Both are great anime, though JoJo is obviously the better one.

I am surprised this one has not been mentioned before. The main appeal of Saiki is not the premise (as interesting as it may be). Rather, it's the ensemble of wacky characters and the funny high-jinks they get into. 

This is something that Urusei Yatsura has a lot of, as well. As with Saiki, Urusei Yatsura has an ensemble of extremely endearing and lovable dumbass characters (with new ones being introduced periodically), always finding themselves in a new absurd scenario.

-Both have Megane MCs with deadpan expression.
-Both MCs are forced to do things they actually dislike (Keima forced to save the girls from Kaketama, while Saiki forced to take a part in any events that makes him inconvenience).
-Both MCs are "The god" in their own story (Keima is the god of galge. Saiki In other hand, has a "god-like" power).
-Both have Supernatural elements.

The difference is Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai focused on romance and the Harem Story of Keima, while Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan as the title says, focused on how disasterous Saiki's life was..

Despite Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan didn't focused on romance, Saiki still get some girls who love him (just like Keima). Both also have a good amounts of Comedy (especially in Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan). read more

So... You should read my rec for Wan Sheng Jie (1) if you want the full "reasons why" but I also had to make one for (2) specifically due to the introduction of a new character.

The Demon King guy in Wan Sheng Jie is pretty similar to Saiki in some ways. I mean, he just wanted to sleep, but people keep waking him up, and then he gets mad and starts destroying everyone.

Let's be real let's not interrupt his nap from now on okay?

It's really cool just how similar these two series are. IF you like one 99% chance you'll like the other because of the diversity of characters and "character motivations" ahah.

Super good humor/comedy as well. I actually considered laughing but then I realized I would look like an idiot if I did that.

Right, a slight difference between the two (especially Season 2 of Wan Sheng Jie) is the relationship between the main character and the love interest. In Saiki K., the main character isn't interested at all (ahem, probably tsundere), while the girl chases after him. In Wan Sheng Jie, the main character is definitely trying to win her over. Whether she realizes it or not... well... that's another story. read more

Well, the main characters (at least one) is super powerful. While they hide it from basically everyone except the people they live with.
Both are also very funny and have comedy and stuff.

The genre and settings of both animes are quite similar. Both MCs are high school students who are considered geniuses/talented (Aoyama=soccer, Saiki=psychic) and surrounded by people who are obsessed with them, yet the MCs prefer to avoid them (Aoyama being a cleanliness freak while Saiki intentionally maintaining a mediocre image to live a peaceful, normal & average life/lifestyle). Both MCs are also notably serious yet their actions and seriousness make situations more hilarious.

Both are shonen shows with interesting plots, lovable characters and great senses of humour. Both Saiki and Senku are often isolated from others due to their own genius and hilarity ensues when they are often surrounded by some of the more "simple" characters. The character designs and OST's are both amazing and I feel both shows are criminally under-rated. They are both adapted from popular Shonen JUMP manga and occasionally break the fourth wall for comedic effect. Both are exhilarating anime that leave you hungry for more!

Both of these anime are gag anime that make you laugh out loud real hard. Saiki Kusuo is more straightforward in its comedy while Gag Manga Biyori is filled with more random and bizarre moments.

You must be scratching your head thinking, "how in the world are these two anime similar?"

(This is a kinda long recommendation, but reading it would be appreciated)

Well, the similarities lie in one key aspect and that is the fantastic usage of time.
Saiki Kusuo utilizes 5 minute episodes to adapt a single chapter, and does so extremely well as the experience from start to finish is aimed at comedy first without anything in between.
3-Gatsu no Lion takes the chapters from the manga and adapts 2 per episode, which are about 25 minutes long, or 20 minutes if you take out the OP/ED.


I'll admit that these two are extremely different experiences, but they do manage to avoid dragging on a chapter.
These two anime are certainly not the first to have little to no filler, but I'd say they are some of the best and deserve their scores.

And just a few words about the series themselves.

Saiki is a nice brief slice of comedy that feels rewarding to watch. 
For me it's like Gintama in that it provides some much needed relief and variety.
The characters and plot are very simple, and that's okay because it doesn't need them.

3-Gatsu is a very calm, down to earth anime with a focus on the chess-like game shogi. 
It provides a different sort of relief and variety than Saiki, but it's relief regardless.
The thing that really helps the anime go to another level is it's amazing cast of characters and it's top-notch animation from Shaft.

Saiki is heavily under watched and I implore you to give it a chance.
While it may have 120 episodes, that only amounts to 10 hours, or about 30 standard episodes of anime.(20 minutes each)
3-Gatsu is fairly popular, but I still feel the need to recommend it as its just that good. read more

Focusing on the Dad character in both of these anime series only, and yes, I do mean Kuniharu Saiki for Saiki and Hiroshi Mizuno for Tsuki ga Kirei.  Both of the Dads have the same voice actor and have the same decently malleable personality.  On a general level, these Dads are roughly the same Dad-like characters, in a good way, of course.
