How I rate my anime
I will supply a quick explanation of how I rate my shows followed by a spoiler button that when pressed will give you some examples of my fav shows that I gave that rating.
-A 5.5 is average as you can't give a 0.
And to clarify further,
the "average" is a non-existent value created inside my mind.
-I 'drop' most shows I don't enjoy w/o marking them down
-I never fully give up on a show,
marking it as "dropped" *feels* wrong
even if i'll probably never revisit it.
I dont go a day without thinking about these shows.
Monogatari (the entire series, obviously) Hunter X Hunter Berserk Steins;gate Made in Abyss
9s are the best of the best without being my absolute favorites. I've rewatched them all dozens of times, i love them all
Katanagatari Re-Zero FMAB Rainbow Parasyte Attack on Titan
Anything 8+ has a home in my heart. Not only was the show good but it had to resonate with me enough to open my heart and peek inside
Arakawa Under the Bridge Ergo Proxy Yamada-kun and the 7 witches Inuyakishi Devilman Crybaby
(7)hardest rank to explain.
A 7 is the baseline for all shows I love. 7+ are all worthy of my recommendation but maybe didnt orchestrate with me like the 8+ did
Bleach Claymore Elfen Lied Sword art Online Psycho Pass Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt
(6)A good show.
Maybe just missing something that would make it great. It was entertaining enough to get a pass and had good enough *insert something* to take it to a 6.
Deadman Wonderland Space Dandy Snow white with red hair Higurashi when they cry High School DXD Goblin Slayer
(5)A fun show
entertaining enough to happily watch but flawed enough to prevent me wanting to watch it again. Slightly below average. (average being 5.5)
Akami ga Kill Rosario + Vampire, to love ru, Testament of sister devil Happy Sugar life Killing bitessssaaa Eureka Seven Shinsekai Yuri from the new world (trust me its overrated)
(4)Eh, it's aight.
decent enough. Has something to make it worth watching but I would prob never recommend it
Corpse Party Guilty Crown C: CONTROL killing bites Ben-to
(3)Best of the worst
Sometimes I just dislike the shows I'm watching. Sometimes I can see the appeal in them, sometimes I can't. A 3 is reserved for shows I think are terrible but had some sort of appeal that gave it a level of enjoyment. If not, it'll go into the 1-2 category... And you don't wanna go there..

Rambling about how I rate my shows.
How I rate shows I consider average: 5.5 is the middle between 1-10, not 5. A 5 on my list is only going to be slightly below average whilst a 6 is going to be slightly above. Generally a show needs to do 1 of 3 things, resonate with me, entertain me or make me think. If it *almost* achieves one of those things it'll probably get a 4. If it DOES do one of those things it'll get at least a 5.
For example: A mindless ecchi shows main purpose is to entertain you. If it manages to do that successfully it will earn a rating of at least 5 whether it's got a plot or not. Take note that having a good plot, etc, makes it far easier to keep you entertained and will naturally increase the shows rating.
Also, The reason I don't have an explanation for scores under 4 on my main page is it's pointless. I have my own reasoning for differentiating between a 2 and 3 but theres no benefit for me to list those differences.
Also remember: people don't finish shows they don't enjoy so it makes sense that their mean score would be higher than 6. .Don't be elitist wankers, thanks.
My intro post :)
As I have ventured further and further into the anime world, having my soul repressed by the 50-50 pull of perfect and annoying characters I have slowly come to the realization that what dictates my enjoyment of an anime is the character& story depth along with the dialogue contained within them.... I simply cannot escape the heart-feels.. So upon completion I sit in silence, trying to re-grasp my humanity outside of the anime I just binge-watched, alchemize a ladder from nothing but dirt, hope and puppy cuddles while escaping with my life and sanity barely in tact.
But alas, I continue to dwindle away my life getting over-stimulated to both amazing and annoying, craving something unique, subtle or deep.. I'm afraid my life will end in front of the computer screen, having been melted from the inside out after watching an anime bad enough to break me or good enough to (explode?) me.. Maybe my poor, longing heart just simply couldn't take it and gave way for the feels to leak out and overcome my sanity.
But in any case, these are the anime which haven't stripped me of my happiness (or life) and which I somehow actually enjoyed enough to finish. They are in an order which seems to correlate pretty well to the anime which I enjoyed the most. But please don't disagree with my list as it may be the thing which pushes my poor little heart over the edge.
