I am sorry for your loss, and sorry for your parents. I am still young, but if I were to put myself in their shoes, I would be disappointed as a parent, to give birth to a subhuman such as yourself, it is truly heart wrenching.

Are you trolling?

Well, that's something. So in essence KNY has more excitement to offer. I'm gonna prioritized KNY and Enen could be waiting for a while I guess
DannyTheDonkey Aug 18, 2019 7:18 AM
Also what do you think about Enen No Shouboutai ?
DannyTheDonkey Aug 18, 2019 6:47 AM
Well that's surprising you didn't know Kung-Fu Hustle. I think it always aired at least once every year in our local TV. I don't even remember how many times I rewatched it. I watched it alone, with my friend even with my family. I sincerely believe it's very famous movie, well at least here.
The movie is mainly comedy and it was hilarious. I'd definitely recommend it.

Sadly no I haven't. Pulp Fiction is the only Tarantino's movie I had seen. I think I had many movies including his on my External Harddrive. It just my motivation to watch movie alone is very lacking, I did tried though, I'd seen a little bit of Inglorious Basterd but I wasn't in the mood back then and so I haven't managed to finish it. I guess I'm just more suited to watch movies with someone or groups because movies length generally are quite long and it's very fun to talk with others during watching it.

I remember that I was also interested in Enen no Shoubotai because the initial reception it had. I think it was ranked 2 in rating for this season only behind Vinland Saga, but yeah as the anime goes on the rating is decreasing probably it had something to do with the fanservices. But I haven't seen it, what do I know?

For some reason I always think that Kubrik in Hollywood is like Satoshi Kon in anime just because how creative their creation are compared to standard movie, although their style is completely different haha.

Anyway thanks for the references. I'll make sure to keep it for my super lazy backlog movies list and I haven't seen World of Kanako so that could be some priority.

Ah Shit. I deleted the wrong comment which was your latest reply instead of mine because some typing error. There goes my movie references. Could you list it again if you don't mind. I just remember Fitzcarraldo and prestige from the last comment.

I'm not much of movie geek myself since what I watch is something that come out from my friend's circle. I never searching it thoroughly myself like I do with anime. But on top of my head here goes my list. :
- The Social Network
- 12 Angry Men
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
- 2001 A Space Odyssey
- Path of Glory
- The Dark Knight
- Kung Fu Hustle
- It's Such a Beautiful Day
- Pulp Fiction

About Dr. Stone. The first six episode maybe is kinda annoying to you because on the whole it is very uninspiring. You got a comic relief sidekick that always screaming every five second, the psychological state of the characters is thrown out of window considering they're petrified
for a long time and some exaggerated unbelievable shit that you will find from typical shounen stuff. Positive thing is to me the idea of building a civilization through science is interesting. Not exactly following the usual battle shounen formula. And it's definitely better than this seasonal isekai garbage so I think it is a good idea to watch it on weekly basis.

Guess I can't really disagree about UBW considering my argument based on memories comparing to yours which come from your reviews (ha.) when your memories still fresh.

Speaking of standing and talking, what do you think of 12 angry men if you have seen it? Also for future references, if you don't mind, could you share your all time favorites movies, because I'm pretty sure you are definitely seen more than I have.

yeah I have also seen Cache. I think I have seen 4 of Hanekes movies but only Cache and the white ribbon were nice. But only the white ribbon really stayed in my mind, i kinda forgot about cache. His movies all seem to have a very slow build up and I think it worked the best for the white ribbon.

Agreed. Aside from the premise and that headless chicken symbolism or whatever. I didn't remember much about Cache, I did liked what I saw but if you told me to point out what's the best thing about I probably could not explain it very thoroughtly. The ending is also quite memorable too I guess, but not because it is great but because it was weird and need further analysis, I remember reading some post about it was the point of the title cache/hidden in english, but didn't really satifisfied with I read. White Ribbon had clearer ending which what makes it more satisfying as a whole movie.

I always liked OPM because of its comedy and its animation. Both seem to be not as good in season 2 in my opinion. For me the best episode of season 1 would probably be ep 9 with the sea monster and Mumen rider. It doesnt really seem like they can recreate such a comedic masterpiece, but i will have to see. Heard from some people that they attempt to do the same later in ther second season but kinda fail to do it right.

It's probably quite Ironic that I've never really think OPM as an pure comedy show to make laugh, but that's probably my fault for not paying attention to the comedy element in the season 1 because I just want to watch the action and the glorious animation. So when the animation is not as good in season 2, I pretty much obliged to attend in its story, so that's why I quite enjoying the content in the S2. Although yeah the execution in season 2 as a whole is below average.

Kimetsu no Yaiba is ok. I criticized ufotable before for their Fate stay night series being not as well animated as people make it out to be, but I think Kmetsu no Yaiba is pretty decent. One punch man is still probably the best animated anime tv series though. I also like the artstyle, like the character design and overall atmosphere. And the soundtrack is very much to my liking. That being said the anime is very much your generic shounen, not much originality character wise. The comedy (which there is a ton later on) doesnt really fit since the anime otherwise is pretty dark and bloody and I think the pacing is too fast. There is one character I like but they dont seem to do much with him so far. And i am not sure if I like the setting in the Meiji era. It can have its good points but so far it wasnt really used that well.

Really? I though the best thing about fate franchise being adopted by ufotable is because their production quality. Thus come the terms "unlimited budget works" which is silly but I do agree with it because it was well animated and the choreography was smooth.
So the pacing is quite fast? I probably try to marathon it soon.

About the Vinland saga, I think in order for it to be on par with Berserk it would need something on the same level as the Griffith-Guts dynamic from Berserk. So far I dont quite see something like that in Vinland saga. I like some character but the main one is a bit annoying so far, although it looks like he is about to change a lot, so I will hope for the best. At least in the last episode i have seen he became more interesing and was a nice change from the boring main character from kimetsu no yaiba.

Well, the reason why most people comparing it to berserk not only because the medieval setting, but also because it's one of those series that covers the lifehood of the protagonist from children to full-pledged adult. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't talk much about about the future plot but I take it is Askeladd that you liked... or is it Canute? (Do the anime already introduces him by the way).
DannyTheDonkey Aug 15, 2019 3:12 AM
Yeah I have seen Confession, although it was quite a while ago. Was a nice movie and kinda got me introduced more to the genre, I like to call, "crazy japanese movies". (i guess my first one was battle royal though)... so after confession a watched a few more of those, including the works of Takeshii Miike. I feel like some of the ones I watched were better than Confession and I kinda forgot about it, but I do remember it being a nice watch.

Maybe I'm not much familiar with the style of that kind of movie because I had not seen much of it. But I'm impressed when the violence and gore is went very well together (I know it's about revenges but still) and the individual storyline is entertaining on its own.

Glad to hear that you liked the white ribbon, I also fairly enjoyed it^^

Speaking of the film I just realized it was directed and wrote by the same guy who did cache so White Ribbon actually my second movie of his. Have you seen Cache also?

About the anime: Last december I checked out the second season of rakugo which I liked, although not as much as the first one. Also checked out "Made in Abyss" and "Sangatsu no lion" which got me introduced to shogi.

And recently I just checked out "yakusoku no neverlands", the second season of "one punch man" (althoug i am not finished with that one yet) and the two on going shows "vinland saga" and "kimetsu no yaiba", the ufotable anime.
All of the anime I mentioned were decent and enjoyable but none really blew me away in any sort of way. Kinetsu no yaiba had a very nice soundtrack and artstyle but the story was very very clicheee. It kinda made me want to watch a good shounen again, like the original FMA. Vinland might have the potential to be great, have to see.

What anime have you been watching\ enjoying recently?

I actually think OPM season 2 is not as bad as people thinks. The great animation is gone yes, but the story is progressing and new characters is not as bad as the previous and Garou was good enough as a Villain.

Ah saw from your updates. It seems you've seen the episode 19 of Kimetsu No Yaiba which makes the community gone crazy. Honestly it kinda makes me want to watch the show just to see what makes people hyped about it.

I've been trying some current seasonal anime. But it's a shamble that there is not even a drama anime this season. Heck, Not even drama about kids in highschool. So I'm just picking up dumb isekai show just for stupidity and luls. I'm quite enjoying Dr. Stone but I have to give it a benefit of doubt that it is in fact a show for kids or middle school grader.

I know I'd love Vinland Saga but I just want to wait more episode to come so I can marathon it in one go. I already read the manga long time ago, and although my current score on it is not that great because the series suffer from Berserk's syndrom. At the end of the day, the beginning is great. If the anime is only cover the prologue arc it's gonna be an A or S grade anime. Heck even if it cover the Farm's arc i'd still gonna give it the same score.
So yeah Vinland is great and I don't think it will dissapoint you.
