Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e

On the surface, Koudo Ikusei Senior High School is a utopia. The students enjoy an unparalleled amount of freedom, and it is ranked highly in Japan. However, the reality is less than ideal. Four classes, A through D, are ranked in order of merit, and only the top classes receive favorable treatment.

Kiyotaka Ayanokouji is a student of Class D, where the school dumps its worst. There he meets the unsociable Suzune Horikita, who believes she was placed in Class D by mistake and desires to climb all the way to Class A, and the seemingly amicable class idol Kikyou Kushida, whose aim is to make as many friends as possible.

While class membership is permanent, class rankings are not; students in lower ranked classes can rise in rankings if they score better than those in the top ones. Additionally, in Class D, there are no bars on what methods can be used to get ahead. In this cutthroat school, can they prevail against the odds and reach the top?

As someone who's always been fascinated by psychological thrillers and social experiments, this anime hit all the right spots. The premise is simple yet genius: take a bunch of talented students, throw them into a high-stakes game(Top Japan School) and watch them claw their way to the top.

What really drew me in was the cast of characters, particularly Kiyotaka Ayanokouji. His calm and collected demeanor belies his incredible intelligence and strategic thinking. I was deeply impressed by his abilities and found myself constantly wondering what he would do next.

The supporting cast is also amazing, with complex characters like Suzune Horikita and Kikyou Kushida adding depth ... and intrigue to the story. And the plot twists? Mind-blowing.

But what really sets Classroom of the Elite apart is its thought-provoking commentary on class, privilege, and the education system. It's like the anime is holding up a mirror to our own society, and it's uncomfortable to watch at times. Yet, it's also mesmerizing.

Overall, I'd give Classroom of the Elite Season 1 a solid 9/10. It's a gripping, intelligent, and addictive ride that'll keep you on the edge of your seat. Just be prepared to sacrifice a few hours of sleep – trust me, it's worth it!

Mixed Feelings

Uh.. what the actual fuck is this?

Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e is an anime that brought many of us into the light novel, presumably because of it's interesting MC and the fucking incredible event at the end, it was really exciting. All from episode 1-12 are all fucking bangers and no misses and I would have loved the anime IF ONLY I had never heard of it's light novel.
But seriously, so much was cut off from the light novel, and the narrative of the anime doesn't even COMPARE to the light novel. The fact that this was adapted into anime has seriously and ... tremendously lowered Ayanokouji's terrifying aura. The way he speaks in the light novel is to me fucking terrifying, and the way that story flowed is so fucking logical and smooth, but what did the anime do? It felt rushed and not enjoyable AT ALL to a light novel reader.

To me, this really is just an ADHD version of the light novel because of how fast it felt compared to the intense 1 hour reading that one scene in the light novel. Holy shit this was not worth revisiting, but the fact that it got me into the LN is also why I love and hate this anime so much. Im feelin a 61/100 on this anime. Thank you!

the MC's character development is just awful. guy does smirk for 3 seasons and doesn't give a damn about anyone. i mean this had to change at some point in his supposed character development. events are few overall.and they are mostly awful and full of fan service. the art is great. but it doesn't salvage the anime as a whole. the show itself is boring. the only good moments are the MC's checkmate moments where his plans fall into place. but that is approximately 3 times in 3 seasons . boring indeed. could've been one of the greats if it was executed properly. ... wouldn't recommend.
