Q. What's the criteria for this list?
A. Well, OP MC is always entertaining, when done right, and I usually prefer characters who aren't ultimate cucks around women as well (so some anime with "romance" also show up). Some anime featuring cuck MC's are present in the list, but the cuck level is low/bearable enough or the rest of the anime is entertaining enough to sit through main character's cucky shenanigans (cuckanigans?).. viewer discretion is advised.

I'm gonna be honest. The overall premise and theme isn't very original, characters are pretty average with a garbage "princess" character leading the whole story. What keeps this show entertaining are the brutal fights the MC gets involved after he transforms. The overwhelming force, the action and visuals it's all pretty damn fun to sit through, and the reason why I've re-watched this anime despite everything else being just "meh".

This would be "wildly entertaining", if not for the annoyingly stupid antagonist "best fraaand" MC has, who also happen to secretly wielding some top quality plot armor and skills.
Unfortunately, whole series is based around MC and his "friend" duking it out till the end in most childish way possible.
Gonna be honest, the "BEST FRIEND EVAR" kinda ruined the anime for me, but your mileage may vary and all that shite..

I watch very few romance anime, but this one takes the cake for being actually entertaining with cute (not in creepy way) "sister" that keeps the comedy flowing.
Not to mention, season 1 itself ends with an amazing song that I've never seen any other anime match, ever. Do watch.

If that doesn't tell you a lot, then I'll just say that this anime overall had a good idea, to create something unique with a summoner as MC. But in typical anime fashion, it was turned into mediocre harem anime.
MC is OP, doesn't lose a single fight, but you'd think he would at-least be used sparingly like the MC from Eminence in Shadow, right? Nope. Like most terrible Isekai, MC is all over the place kicking ass and living the most generic harem life ever.
Also, 12 episodes, whole story feels rushed, way too many plot points and characters are introduced and there is zero guarantee this will ever get a season 2. Enjoy.

First season is average isekai, second season is a slight step-up, but overall a generic isekai fantasy where the writer seems to be in a hurry to wrap the whole thing up and go on a vacation. Not a single original thought in the premise, the setting, characters or lore. Watch it when nothing else is available.

Barring 2-3 average episodes, I would say this anime does a lot of things right.

I guess if I have to complain, it's the same complaint I have with every anime ever. Why the fuck is every character a kid always? Even older people look like kids and I can't take most of the scenes seriously because of that.

When I first viewed this anime, I rated it 1/10 back in 2019-2020.
Re-watched it in 2024, wondering if I judged it too harshly back then, and I was right.
I now rate it, 6/10.
Even though it doesn't do exactly something new, compared to most Isekai shows out these days, this anime has good art and characters who aren't annoying or pedo-bait.
I wouldn't mind seeing a season 2, but alas, I don't think it'll ever happen (it aired in 2019).
