this is the list of my favorites isekai... feel free to suggest some others isekai if I'm missing out... this list groups animes with most similarities together...
it's been said that watching isekai anime is like going downward spiral into a rabbit hole of darkness and some depravity ecchi stuff... folks, people are being over dramatic because some isekai are lewd doesn't mean theres any decent isekai that don't rely on lewdness or other hentai stuff... I'm here to demythify that... at least argue against that false premise...
on this list you will find family friendly isekai that are healthy and wholesome...
just to update that for now but if take your time you will find what are marked family friendly isekai that will get you straight out of the world depravity... is not given but yeah just want to let people know that is not completely a dark path... those who went to the dark side did by choice... so do you rather not go to the dark side?
for those insisting that isekai genre is whatever because of repeating classical trope is like arguing that romance genre is bs because you for sure will know that the stuff usually is the lovey dovey and kissing or some whatever tragedy and sadness... every genre is known for its quirks is totally normal, do people really have its expectations in the right place?
my short recommendation if you like Mushoku Tensei meanwhile waiting for the second season then watch:

-is very op... as much as Rudeus... Guess Mushoku Tensei this season will be about the magic academy.

that time I recommended Goblin Slayer to fill the goblin slaying reference that was lacking in Mushoku Tensei. this is a much more older reference for fantasy isekai anime, pretty good. I'm not sure if this anime is pretty popular or not I just saw it recently and Omg it has very good representation of different roles of a party for a lot of anime in this genre. it has very much the similar mechanic in how magic works. this anime was before goblin slayer, I thought this one has serve as inspiration that's why I found that Goblin Slayer even though wasn't isekai has a lot of good quality in it.

is very bloody is not very advisable if you can't handle gore...this anime helps expand on the goblins topic that was barely covered in Mushoku.
some may wonder why goblin slayer is on the list if the mc isn't reincarnated or teleported to a fantasy world...my answer to this is... to think about it this way, the main difference between an isekai in contrast to a straight forward fantasy, is the Mc origin backstory, so in the end it doesn't even matter whether isekai or non-isekai the fantasy world setting is the same for both... capiche? in simple terms this is being used as reference material...
put it bluntly if we have Rudeus Greyrat and the goblin slayer...the latter have a backstory usually in Japan being hit by truck-kun... this being said the main point is that after watching Eris the goblin slayer FYI the Mushoku Tensei OVA ...I got curious and then... yeah after that you want more goblin slaying action in a longer series...what else?
-Skeleton Knight in Another World
even though this anime is of somebody who suddenly woke up in the game... it seems more of that sub-genre of games world isekai... like the fact this one doesn't have the game interface and pop-up menu that's been seen in these others isekai.
-That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime aka Tensura
I highly recommend it... this anime will share and borrow narrative elements from different isekai I consider it a rich and very elaborate and wholesome anime...
ok... I like this one because it doesn't have a game user interface in which is a good thing ... instead it has the better idea of having an ai voice assistant... the reason behind why I'm recommending skeleton knight and Tensura, I saw it has fast travel and teleportation in which is a big deal of a topic in Mushoku for the future so folks watch more isekai with Teleportation and fast travel really a big deal and is interesting... there's some others anime that has it not mentioned for now maybe later or ahead down below keep an eye peel...
-The Faraway Paladin
some says that this anime did took inspiration in Mushoku Tensei... seems it does it also have its own thing... maybe its cover more on the Paladin sides of things, truly is really well done in that sense I did enjoy the concept of paladin that's not very often seen in the genre, as we know mostly the protagonist usually is a mage... the paladin thing did blew my mind what is the middle ground between an mage and a warrior .... ta-da! a Paladin...
basically these are the recommended watch order just to be a more enriching experience on isekai that got ideas that are more elaborate in different story... people complain that isekai are generic but I think is an evolution so it may happen that some ideas are repeated but we can see that it works better than other I think that Mushoku Tensei was able to wrap a lot of ideas pretty well some others too, so I consider it a masterpiece...
if you are looking for something similar to the Shield hero...a Hero Merchant Mc with a lot of ladies' companions, then I recommend watching:

yeah, as I this one does follow our Shield Hero foots, going around with a lot of ladies in a cart like any proper gentleman... seriously my role model!

Our protagonist in this anime is pretty Op and also follows Shield Heros footstep to have demi human slave companion with nightmares during night sleeps... does it sound familiar?
6-Meikyuu Black Company
both mc are the boss... does business in a shady way, both have an Op female bodyguard that are always hungry...
7- Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World
in this anime the Mc bought a slave too... the same way Naofumi did, certainly but the main difference is that this anime went much much further than Shield Hero...
8-I'm Standing on a Million Lives
on this anime the mc has similar restriction on weapon that can be equipped by the hero following certain rules...

- Log Horizon is an recommend anime to watch at some point in time because is like the grandfather to some recent isekai anime. if you enjoy anime related to be isekai in a mmorpg game world.

This is the starting point for the list... for those who are looking for a good example on what a well done isekai should be... it got many things right, a true masterpiece...I heard so many comments on Mushoku to be controversial and whatever, but seriously this is very mild compared to others anime that are much more explicit on ecchi subject... at least on that matter, I consider it an exaggeration overblown... it does contains some lewd jokes, but is mild at best, anyways this is not for everyone, it does need some maturity to watch...
I watched this anime during lockdown... the first time I saw it was like amazing, so I re watched it many times... as anything... the magic will wore off over time, but I still rewatch it sometimes, still consider it very good and excellent, a very good starting point if you haven't seen anything yet

I highly Recommended it if you already like watching Mushoku tensei and also are looking into anime related to Op protagonist going into a magical school making friends and showing off his prowess with intention of hiding it a pretending to be a modest or low key. this is like a cross of Danmachi with Mushoku Tensei..Arifureta, Konosuba, Black Summoner, serei Gensuki mixed in cocktail of ideas into a new isekai. I will make short if you don't have issues with those anime mentioned above you will enjoy this one...
here you got another Op protagonist... so if you are tired of it... I wont tell what to do but be warned before just in case if you to want to skip because of hatred toward Op protagonist. but hey it uses a lot of well known classical tropes in isekai anime but, with some refreshing ideas, maybe give it a try...

this anime is like an alternative version of Rudeus, we beg the question what if Rudeus before dying was someone pretty smart and handsome and if of top hardworking we mean this guy unlike in Mushoku was a NEET... so yeah what if we make him a better person before dying what would he be like in another world...
no surprise we end up with a Nice Guy a non lewd Anime... instead of horniness at least for now.. let's think about business... and be an upstanding person for society...it also has some reminiscences of full metal alchemist with ascendance of bookworm with myne... quite interesting the author was able to pull off a story taking different elements from my favorites animes...well done...
yeah just wanted to say that this one is also a family friendly isekai for those who hated Mushoku Tensei this is a better version or at least a healthy version for those who doesn't like those more adult themed stories...

Life is about ups and downs... Yeah, if you already watched Isekai Cheat Magician and then needed some anime with more substance. Maybe even if this one is a step up, even with added complexity and more stuff, people are still hard to please. A better tada banri with a wider selection of waifu still doesn't cut it? What will?

If you complained about Isekai Cheat Magician lacking substance, then I must say that this is an Isekai Cheat Magician with added sauce. In this formula, we have the slave blonde girl similar to Elfina in Black Summoner. Then we also have a tsundere red-haired girl similar to Eris in Mushoku Tensei, but she looks more like Tomo-chan from "Tomo-chan is a Girl". For the white-haired girl, her personality is very similar to Ruka-chan from "Rent-a-Girlfriend", and her looks are like the wolf girl from "Drug Store in Another World". Instead of being the best assassin, the protagonist was the best exorcist in old Japan. This is a big salad of remixed ideas from previous isekai anime. It's been good so far, and the harem never fails. The choice of girls is not very original, but I will let it pass because they are among my favorite girl types: Elfina, Ruka, and Eris XD.

The most roasted isekai of recent memory, this supposedly the generic isekai that generic reviewers use as a punching bag for being generic. Even reviewers are guilty of being generic for repeating the same old line. But does this anime really deserve that much hate? It seems there's no way for this anime to escape criticism, even if they put a weakling crybaby as the protagonist, people will still say it's generic. And if they use a delinquent protagonist, do we still get something original? Nowadays, most character types have already been used up. In my book, having a ghost Tada Banri as the protagonist is quite original.
This isekai is the reference that most people call generic. However, besides its apparent similarities, the highlight of this anime is the elaboration on spirit magic and the explanation of the difference between a mage and a sorcerer. If this caught your attention, give it a watch. But don't hold it against me if it doesn't quite live up to the hype of Mushoku Tensei. It may not be amazing, but it's not bad either. So, enjoy it without prejudice.

We have a serious Bell Cranel from Danmachi...the magic gun wielding rabbit foot with anti magic school usagi 35 platoon... then we have epsilon and aqua from konosuba on the poster. this story has some similarities with shield hero on the betrayal narrative. overcoming obstacles and making a harem is your thing then watch this... I haven't yet but when I do... I will add some more comments about it.

this anime is a very typical story of an op protagonist pretending to be weak or hiding his amazing power. very good I do like it to the point that I'm also currently reading the manga to the last chapter that I'm aware of at the moment of writing this, just to get ahead of the anime, I'm itching to know what's coming next it can be say almost each time will have a cliffhanger or hooked to keep reading for what's next. you should watch this anime if you already enjoy watching Trapped in a dating sim or maybe if you also happen to like Black summoner, My isekai life, Knight's & Magic, Skeleton knight and also Log Horizon. if you really enjoy those anime mentioned above I certainly believe you will enjoy this one.

Therefore, if you dislike lewd jokes, be warned and consider not watching this anime. This girl is akin to the reincarnation of Taiga in an isekai setting.

I'm not certain if these people should continue watching isekai in their lives. I have yet to determine whether it's the male or female audience that strongly opposes this type of storytelling. Setting aside the criticism from the haters, perhaps I've become corrupted by watching too much isekai. If that's the case, I may need a better moral compass in order to fully enjoy the isekai genre again.

This anime is not an isekai, but I made an exception for it as reference material about goblins. This anime is like an essay about goblins, describing how repulsive or dangerous they are in a very convincing manner. I like the depth and richness that help make a fantasy world's fiction more alive. This anime is definitely worth watching. In my opinion, it is excellent reference material because it has set an example for many things that will improve Isekai anime.

I think that this one has done the isekai trope right, I saw the manga and I think the adaptation is pretty good, it seems that the story does takes inspiration in our popular culture and maybe it has a lot of things to be criticized by many people, if want to find fault should be easy, but my preliminary judgment of this,I consider it to be well done... it may take me some future rewatch and some more experience to make a more educated judgment, but for now with some rewatch the magic haven't worn off yet, so it should be considered outstanding

I'm impressed with this anime is one of the pioneering anime regarding dive in massive player online isekai anime... after watching this anime I guess maybe people will have more regards for animes inspired in Log Horizon. it came to my mind "My isekai life" that took inspiration of how the floating game interface is interacted. some others anime such as Death March and Tensura also took some inspiration from Log Horizon in many ways... even though is fun to see how this genre has evolved over the years. I highly recommend to watch Log Horizon if you are like to be more cultured in the isekai genre and also until so far this anime is pretty family friendly . even though this title is much earlier to some recent isekai this one has age pretty good as a example even Leadale is a more recent anime . the quality is pretty good.

the op protagonist harem story... I personally loves this type of stories. this quick summary for those who don't like harem nor op protagonist, and some mild ecchi lewd jokes can skip this anime. well at least if you hate introverts mc... maybe give a try.
this one... did not go overboard on slimes but you see at least got one... summoner/tamer similar concept is blended with others isekais ideas and this come out.... it shares similarities on having a game interface... I guess this one is a blend on shield hero, death march, mushoku, skeleton knight and tensura... is a good attempt

this anime is pretty good... this is anime is for everyone.. in the sence that it wont have lewd jokes and others stuff... this family friendlyfamily friendly isekai ... ok if you like isekai but don't want the violence nor the lewdness want some healthy anime this is the one to watchok this is anime is like a vegetarian meal... it doesn't rely on lewdness nor too much violence to succeed... who though a vegan could be tasty?

I have rewatched this anime many times and I never get bored. It is a very interesting anime because when it did not adapt all the material, I wanted to know what happened next. So, I went to read the manga, and when that wasn't enough, I read the light novel to get ahead of the story. My only complaint about this anime is the choice of art for the girls, which wasn't the best. At least if they had kept it similar to the manga, it would have been better. Those big eyes kind of look weird, but overall, if you look past that flaw, the anime is good and I do recommend it.

after watching Trapped in a Dating Sim I wanted to watch another otome game type isekai... this is the harem for the girls... sometimes is good to see things from a different perspective.. harem is the best male fantasy but girls too can taste the goodness of harem right? well in real life women most of the time have a harem of males, we see them too often in real life what about in anime too?
comedy on reverse harem... yeah yeah we see harem of males in real life most of the time... watch it in anime is too much of hard reality even in fantasy there's no escape... well laugh it off with this anime... what looks sad in real life now is a comedy...

ok... first impression pretty good... looks very promising recently just newly release anime. nowadays more more stories similar to this one is appearing more often the new trend in isekai of a op little girl...my expectations are high. I believe this one wont dissapoint the production quality is pretty good.

this is a family friendly isekai for those who don't like lewd stuff... watch with confidence...it doesn't even have blood splatter.
what makes this anime amazing in my book. some of my first impression is how they manage to pull off a by combining like Gundam SEED + Escaflowne + Robotech and some others anime in one package.
my only complain for now is that the story was kinda short maybe if they would have learned from Gundam to make it a at least 50+ episodes...but is comprehensible this story was made to be fitted in a 13 episode format. so the story are cut to the chase.
the Mc is a bit like Rimuru tempest because is made from the same studio, because of the white hair it reminds me of the little Rookie in Danmachi. ok the Mc has good attitude is not annoying as other characters he was hit by car and thanks god is not a subaru... xD who got the joke?
I understand what are the haters will be thinking about this anime it would be in two camp those who wants it to be a more adult themed and more elaborated plot with more conspiracy and mysteriousness. the animation and the quality of this anime is top notch. I watched Escaflowne when I was young it was amazing and disturbing at the same time I guess this one is good for starting to enjoy mecha anime without being overly serious... maybe that's why this anime is made for young people who would then buy toys and stuff...
some others complain is from people who expected to it end like a Gurren lagann something more obnoxious... some people expected it to have more tension and something more tragic to happen in the story line... but 13 episodes anime wont cut it... to make it a more obnoxious something with more calories would have taken more episodes at least 24 episodes is my estimation.
then there's the people who would say that this anime needed more fanservice and lewd stuff... is better not at least yeah, you can watch this with others without the awkwardness. is a good trade off I guess... we still have some others anime for that...
the overall feel of this anime is like a gundam anime with isekai features... Highly recommended... is hard to recommend anime that doesnt have lewd stuff these days... well for those who said that want more intense feeling in the battles should watch 86 or some gundam series... 86 is what in recent memory of watching anime that captures that part of mourning the fallen comrades... what you won't get on a kids show... or something very bombastic should try gurren lagann or darling in the franxx depends of what type feeling you are looking for...in the end the message of this anime is about healthy competition and don't stress about if it learns from other you know this anime has the best elements of many anime is kinda ahead of its time.
