Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken

Thirty-seven-year-old Satoru Mikami is a typical corporate worker, who is perfectly content with his monotonous lifestyle in Tokyo, other than failing to nail down a girlfriend even once throughout his life. In the midst of a casual encounter with his colleague, he falls victim to a random assailant on the streets and is stabbed. However, while succumbing to his injuries, a peculiar voice echoes in his mind, and recites a bunch of commands which the dying man cannot make sense of.

When Satoru regains consciousness, he discovers that he has reincarnated as a goop of slime in an unfamiliar realm. In doing so, he acquires newfound skills—notably, the power to devour anything and mimic its appearance and abilities. He then stumbles upon the sealed Catastrophe-level monster "Storm Dragon" Veldora who had been sealed away for the past 300 years for devastating a town to ashes. Sympathetic to his predicament, Satoru befriends him, promising to assist in destroying the seal. In return, Veldora bestows upon him the name Rimuru Tempest to grant him divine protection.

Now, liberated from the mundanities of his past life, Rimuru embarks on a fresh journey with a distinct goal in mind. As he grows accustomed to his new physique, his gooey antics ripple throughout the world, gradually altering his fate.

Okay, I have to be honest, for the longest time, I completely skipped over That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime because of the title. A slime? Really? It just sounded a bit too silly for me.

But after finally giving in and watching it, I have to admit, I was totally wrong. This show is way more interesting and clever than I ever expected.

The premise is simple, a guy gets reincarnated in a fantasy world as the weakest creature imaginable. But instead of being a loser, he turns his weaknesses into strengths. The main character, Rimuru, is just so likeable and decently smart. It's ... incredibly fun to watch him befriend powerful monsters, build his own nation, and basically become the most OP leader in the world.

Mixed Feelings

I don't get into the politics of minor and major studios or who's competent at adapting novels or not(while all owned by Sony) but I'm disappointed to a great extent. I held off on watching this huge, well praised, popular series for a good while. I've got to say I'm not so happy about that delay as, over time, I've collected many isekais under my belt and developer a much broader tolerance for garbage. I've also experienced a great few isekais that are so far ahead of the rest- it's embarrassing! You'd think either we the viewers or the studios as artists would evolve and ... improve. With our feedback and raising expectations the studios adapt and strive for great new heights. In reality the consumers accepted trash as the new standard and will worship anything above a PowerPoint slideshow with tits.

Times have changed, anime changed and slime is a great example of where we came from and where we're headed as otakus. Slime is to anime what reality TV was for cable. It's proof that no matter how revolting, low effort, unfunny, obviously servicy in your face the media is humans will consume it and find pleasure in it. It's like hokers- they're of no concern for most of us, yet for a handful they are the biggest ecstacy of pleasure in their lives. I pray there's less brain rot like this in the future and more quality artistic outlets that make an impact and are more than a bunch of pixels. Thank you

Imagine a boring protagonist that does nothing really interasting the entire anime besides giving names to monsters.
Thats literally all this anime is about, nothing deep enough to make you care about anything that happens in all 3 seasons and movie, the only thing is that is cool to watch someone in a isekai with rpg like system.
Every character side history is complete cliche in every aspect, nothing really new or that really make you care about something happening, and you dont care if they are in a "dangerous" situation, the godlike protagonist will just save the day and was everything for nothing anyway.
I really ... dont get it how people like this so much but i can see people that dont care that much of what is being shown loving this silly cliche history.
The protagonist is really bad, is not like he is dislikeable or something, he is dog water in writing, he is not cool, not funny, he is just blend and strong.

IF YOU ARE SOMEONE EASY TO PLEASE, maybe you will have a good time watching this anime, if not you will just waste your time.
