Maou-sama, Retry!

Akira Oono is an ordinary working adult who manages the MMORPG Infinity Game. Fifteen years after creating the game, Oono decides to shut the servers down once and for all. However, as the clock strikes midnight, he somehow finds himself in the body of middle-aged Hakuto Kunai, Infinity Game's Demon Lord!

Soon after his mysterious transportation, he witnesses the demon Greole chasing after a little girl named Aku. Although he effortlessly dispatches the creature, Hakuto is still concerned; after all, he does not remember creating the girl or the demon! Doubting whether he truly is in the world of his creation, Hakuto decides to investigate. Bringing Aku along as his guide and companion, Hakuto sets out on a journey to find out exactly who or what summoned him to this fantasy world—all while leaving chaos and destruction in his wake.

Ok... I get it. So game player designed his character to be Keanu Reeves as Demon Lord in name only because he seems quite normal and palatable in comparison to people from this isekai realm. It's nice to see that the main character doesn't juggle between treating people like a game or taking the world seriously... I was getting tired of that trope although some other anime's did that well mind you.

Here that wouldn't have fit very well. I'm getting some Log Horizon vibes here; it started magnificently then became a SIMS game for awhile. At least it didn't make the ... OP character boast to us the viewers for every episode by rehashing victory after victory. His goals clearly need more than power and muscle to achieve so I can see the point of the direction. The comedy is awesome although they do skim close to repetitiveness. Not quite mind you so close call, I'll have to watch season 2 to fully grasp what their take is so far so fingers crossed that it doesn't flop during this half because it didn't end on a high note per say.

I wrote this because people had to know "if they didn't catch it" that he's basically Keanu Reeves, if you wanted to see Keanu in an isekai here's your chance... enjoy lol.

Mixed Feelings

This is for sure a trash isekai. You've got an overpowered protagonist who builds up a questionable harem in a generic fantasy world. I should have stopped watching on the second episode the second time he asks the young girl he saved to go take a bath, and he spanks a mage. It's trash, but the plot is entertaining enough to keep you invested. Maybe I was just bored.

I'm trying to think of something it did okay. I guess the characters didn't seem as soulless as some isekai. Maybe a little bit of thought went into their personalities/dialogue. There were a few lines I enjoyed/thought ... were clever.

Overall a few character designs are pretty egregious in terms of fanservice. They are also always taking a baths, although it didn't seem as focused as the fanservice aspect during those scenes as I thought it might. I am interested in seeing how far this goes. I may watch the next season. My review is basically I shouldn't have even wanted to finish this, but I was entertained enough to, and may even watch the next season.

Feels like the product of a studio that didn't put in much effort.

For action, it's mostly slideshow style in that there's an enemy, an attack, and then the after effects rather than actually animating combat and making things look good.

For the plot, I'm guessing off of the anime that the source material focuses on how the world is and how it's being changed. The anime seems to speed through this though so it's not very good either.

For comedy and characters, not enough animation is put into facial expressions or body movements for these to look that good either. The voice actors always do a good ... job though.

Bottom 10 of all anime I've finished. I imagine it could've been great but the people who made it didn't let it shine.

There are some good moments, but those are what clips are for when the anime overall doesn't match the quality of the clip.
