Kanojo ga Koushaku-tei ni Itta Riyuu

When, after her sudden death, Rinko Hanasaki is reborn as Raeliana McMillan, she is not sure whether to curse her luck. Raeliana was a minor character in a novel Rinko read, and as the eldest daughter of a nouveau-riche baron, she led a carefree life until her unfortunate demise at the hands of her fiancé, Lord Francis Brooks. To avoid her destined fate, Raeliana is determined to end her engagement with Francis.

However, when Francis refuses to break things off, Raeliana decides to seek help from someone of higher standing and approaches Duke Noah Wynknight—the novel's male protagonist. Using her knowledge of the plot, Raeliana captures the duke's interest by proposing a deal: she will not expose his secrets if Noah agrees to act as her fiancé. Little does she know that getting involved with a duke who only shows his true colors around her may lead to more than she bargained for.

Hi hello and welcome to yet another Isekai story! There are so SO many of these types of stories being released these days, and they range widely in quality from the absolute trashiest-trash to stories that betray expectations in the best ways. This one I'd say falls somewhere in the middle, and was a rather cute and a fun watch.

It has quite a novel premise (heheh) that kept me interested in the overarching story. Though I'd say the story leans more towards being a wholesome slice of life rather then being very dramatic. To keep this spoiler free I'll just say that I really enjoyed ... the moments when the world diverges from the novel that the main character keeps refering to throughout the story.

Now where this show really shines is in it's two main leads who have a fun dynamic. Here I'll say that I watched the english dub for this series, and I really loved the voices for both the Duke and Realiana. The constant teasing from both sides as they're relationship grows is definitely the biggest highlight of the show and got me smiling or even laughing most episodes. There are also some great heartfelt moments along the way that really sells the growth of their relationship.

The Art quality also impressed me alot! There are some really beautiful shots, and the lighting effects and background are handled really well. It really feels like they made the most of what budget they had. The character art especially was really charming, Raeliana really is a beauty both on the screen, and in the world of the show. And don't get me started on the Duke... just wow...

Now there are some more lacking aspects, in particular the animation never really impressed me, and occasionally was very lacking. Though I'd say that likely was because of the art, so I don't see it so much as a negative but as a trade off for having good art.
Some of the voice acting was also awkward, which would occasionally hamper some dramatic moments.

OVERALL THOUGH I'd reccomend giving this series a watch if you want to watch an isekai series that occasionaly betrays expectations, and indulges in light hearted moments, with some occasional spice :>

Mixed Feelings

“I refuse to be the disposable side character in someone else’s story.” That’s Raeliana’s opening move, and it’s a strong one. Thrust into a novel she once read, she knows she’s destined to be murdered within months, unless she rewrites the plot herself. The setup promises intrigue, romance, and a heroine with actual survival instincts, and for the most part, it delivers. Raeliana navigates high society like a chess player who already knows half the moves, while Noah, the charmingly suspicious duke, proves that charisma is even more dangerous when paired with secrets. As someone who enjoys reading manhwa, this anime feels very familiar, closely ... following the typical tropes and generic formula of shoujo romance manhwa, where the female lead is often someone who was previously rough or downtrodden, then isekai’d into a royal world and suddenly feels perfect and in control. This familiarity can be comforting for newcomers to the genre but might feel predictable or cliché for others. The story blends mystery and romance well, though its pacing sometimes flirts with filler territory, that’s more cute than plot-relevant. Structurally, it’s straightforward but dependable, anchored by Raeliana’s wit and Noah’s unreadable smirk. Side characters range from delightfully shady to instantly forgettable. The worldbuilding, all gowns, gossip, and unspoken power plays, keeps things working. The visuals pop with elegant costume designs, while the music and voice acting sell both the tension and the flirtation. At its heart, this isn’t just about avoiding death. It's about learning to control your own narrative, even if the “author” disagrees. For newcomers and romance fans, it’s a satisfying slow-burn with enough intrigue to keep you turning the metaphorical page. For everyone else, it’s a reminder that surviving a story sometimes means becoming the villain in someone else’s chapter.

Overall, this story doesn't do much different than you'd expect of these type of isekai. She must change her game character's fate, and due to that different parts of the story change. There was some interesting points in how she got isekai'd and the ramifications of taking over another person's body, but my biggest problem with this show was the male lead.

They rally push the "bad boy" angle here, and the main character being a "tsundere". She pretend to not actually like him, and he constantly does bad things to her in the vein of just "messing" with here, but it's okay since he's hot. ... Anyway, the plot did get interesting enough by the end I would probably watch another season, but it's probably not getting one. The relationship with the male lead was just too unbearable for me to really recommend this though.
