If you try something 1000* times, you'll get there eventually. You will achieve your goal and become better than anyone else - this idea applies both to the manga itself and to my time with it.
A young man wakes up in front of a demon queen who asks him to kill her! After training for 30,000 years, he beats this demoness known to be invincible - but in those 30k years he has developed feelings for her and decides to break her curse and free her from her obligations as a demon queen! So when they finally return to his world together, he is suddenly
...
asked to enter an academy for returned heroes...
The most important question I ask myself for these reviews and want to answer for you is why you should read the manga. Why not all the other stories that are so similar? What sells this book? And although I tried frantically and gave this manga another chance several times because it's quite highly rated, I just couldn't find it.
This manga is simply meaningless and boring. Every aspect of this particular piece of work has been seen a thousand times before and every aspect has been done at least a hundred times better. “But that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad” - that's actually my attitude towards these 'generic' themes, but this manga proved the opposite. I made it through 17 chapters with great effort, but now I'm giving up, I'd rather rewatch all the generic isekai of the last season in one go than read another chapter.

“Sex-sells” - I always had to think of this saying with “Isekai Walking”. Generally a rather generic story, with generic protagonists, generic artwork, etc. I had fun with it - but why? What sold this manga so well?
In “Isekai Walking”, a young man named Sora is summoned and directly kicked out by the king because he only has a skill called “walking”. But what the king didn't know was that this skill has the side effect that every step you take increases your level! So when he does the obvious and walks around, he discovers how beautiful this fantasy world is - so why not
...
travel it?
And it's this journey that sells the manga. If you want a story that ignores the story and characters and simply shows the beautiful, fascinating aspects of a journey, then you'll have fun with “Isekai Walking”. The manga here isn't perfect either - e.g. the villages, forests and other places that are visited seem far too normal, at least to me, for exploring a fantastic fantasy world - but I don't know of any other manga that really focuses entirely on the journey in a classic fantasy world. Stories like “Kino's Journey” or “Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill” are better overall, but only go in a similar direction.
Other than that, this manga is very mediocre, quite detailed - or lame, depending on whether the glass is half full or half empty - and pretty meaningless.
Nevertheless, I had fun with Sora's journey, even though it felt like it had only just begun and so not much happened.

This Manga is the best.
Why? Because S H A R K.
If that's not a valid argument in your opinion, you won't have any fun with this manga either.
"Killer Shark in Another World" is about a girl who spawns a shark. It is omnipotent. It can do anything and the manga tries to explain this with a lot of logic, which makes no sense at all. But since the manga is really convinced of its garbage talk, you kind of want to believe it, you want to think that it makes sense.
Actually, I've summed up the charm of the series with my first two lines
...
and don't need to say any more. If you want a manga that talks trash from front to back and somehow twists all the tropes you know until they become new, stupid and funny, then read this.

And with that, I've also seen the "please don't let it get out anywhere that I watched this show" anime of this season - somehow one of those comes out every season.
And I have to admit, when I compare "Gushing over Magical Girls" to the other anime in this category, it was the best in years.
Hiiragi Utena is forced one day to become the bad guy and hurt her beloved Magical Girls. But somehow she seems to like it too much? As it turns out, she is a real sadist who could make a fortune as a dominatrix.
With this summary in mind and slightly drunk,
...
I started the series and really enjoyed it. It deals with all kinds of topics that would be considered taboo even among taboo topics and that is admittedly often fun, even if some of the 'things' dealt with made me look away. For example, someone played an infant and wet his pants...
But the main focus of the series is and remains the sadistic protagonist Utena and lesbian games. The whole thing goes so far in some episodes that I have to ask myself if that only counts as softp*rn. If such scenes were often unpleasant - no matter how hard the anime tried to make them funny - the series has a certain charm, especially the characters are often way too funny and at least watching it once can't hurt.
However, not everything is cake eating. As to be expected from an anime in this category, there are issues in the production quality. It's not as bad as some other cases have been, but scenes are inconsistent (e.g. characters just spawn) and the German subtitles also have some really rough mistakes.
The biggest problem, however, is the "story" that the series starts to sprinkle in at the end. I don't know why more and more anime do this, but of course there has to be a big, secret plot that could turn everything upside down. Season 1 only mentions this in passing at the end, but it turned my stomach, made my hair stand on end and almost made me stop watching the series. When I watch "Gushing over Magical Girls" for messed up characters, taboo themes and funny scenes, I don't need or want some secret evil plot interfering with the funny scenes. END.
Conclusion: If you could already stand series like "Redo of Healer" and found "Interspecies Reviewers" funny, you'll have fun with this one too (even if "Interspecies Reviewers" is much better). This is one of those shows that is best watched drunk, with friends, or drunk with friends, and which is then fun to watch.
Edit: This would probably have been more fun if it wasn't about magical girls. Japan seems to like them, but I just don't get into them. Also, the anime has my respect for never sexualizing the obviously underage "Nero-Alice" in any way, just as there are no lolis. Even if it is questionable that the magical girls are all teenagers, a certain boundary is maintained.

Unfortunately, there is too much suffering in the world. Everyone knows it and sees it often. Now there are also series that revolve around suffering and "The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash" is one of them.
In "The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash", a young girl is chased out of a village, apparently because she has extremely poor skills. Betrayed by family and friends, she has not yet given up hope thanks to a psychic who protected her until recently and a small voice in the back of her head that tells her of a past life. On
...
her escape she now encounters several monsters, which she protects and which in turn protect her.
This is a beautiful series, the music, look and characters are really fantastic so far. Especially for not having heard of the series before, I was really surprised by it.
However, I quickly understood why I hadn't heard much about the anime. It's about how desperate a little girl is and how she suffers. That's the pivotal point of the series and it throws you in at the deep end. There may be series with similar themes, but I don't know of any that are really about suffering and trauma without really softening it. The little girl is constantly reminiscing about her sad past and honestly, I can't see how anyone could willingly watch something like this. Sure, there are moments in between the suffering and it's actually about how the girl heals and finds friends and allies, but that suffering hovers like a dark shadow over her every action and makes the anime sad again and again and again in a way, if I wanted that, I could watch news about some crisis area. So I have to concede that the series isn't bad in principle, the cute monsters honestly hooked me enough to keep watching, but I still found 50% of the anime almost unbearable - at least without skipping.

Have you ever had that feeling when a series is too fast and too slow at the same time, when it somehow feels completely off the pace? I had exactly that feeling with "Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp".
Apart from the fact that I don't know where the lamp is supposed to be in the series, the anime is about a noblewoman who was executed at the stake by her husband. However, she wakes up in our world and wants to make up for her past mistakes and becomes a doctor who is considered an absolute genius. She is so talented that she
...
rescues every injured passenger after an airplane crash without having any tools. In the end, however, she dies from her own injuries, only to wake up again shortly before her engagement! In order to really make up for her mistakes and prevent all the suffering she had to witness in her first life, she does her best to break off the engagement and become a doctor here too.
I have a few problems with the series. I've already mentioned that the pacing seems slightly off. Halfway through, she's still engaged and still not recognized as a doctor, while at the same time she's undergone dozens of surgeries (or the like), all of which we get to see within the few episodes. This makes the show feel rushed when it's about her work as a doctor and too slow when it's about royal diplomacy.
Apart from that, the characters all come across as flat or unsympathetic. The king, for example, allows himself to be influenced too much by his minister and thus comes across as stupid and an asshole, as he makes life difficult for the protagonist even though he made her a promise. Everyone else often only appears very briefly and simply befriends her or falls in love with her, without much backstory or similar. There seems to be some backstory, because stuff is hinted at again and again, but the hints aren't enough to give the characters any depth.
Conclusion: Uff - why am I still watching this? The series somehow has a charm that I can hardly describe and that makes me curious about the next episodes, even though I could hardly stand the previous ones.
Edit: I've now seen the series all the way through and decided that I can leave this review as it is. The biggest problem with the series is the intrigue part, which I can only describe as strange. I admit that it has potential, but the way it's implemented is annoying 90% of the time. The last 10% concerns the finale, which took a step back from the doctors' part and focused more on the intrigue, making for a thoroughly interesting finale, even if the rather open ending is annoying.

Rishe's engagement has just been terminated - no problem, because in her 7 lives she has already experienced this 6 times anyway! So when she hops out of the window to collect a few things before her parents banish her, she meets Prince Arnold, who was responsible for all 6 of her deaths - either directly or indirectly.
- this is how my commentary on the first 5 episodes began. In it, I also explained that the series has two major weaknesses:
Firstly, I don't like the concept itself - "I'm reborn for the Xth time". 7 lives, which allow 7 times as many recaps because they
...
weren't shown, is annoying to me because I'm not a fan of recaps. Fortunately, the recaps here are less annoying, even if it's a real shame that we know so little about her previous lives.
On the other hand, the series puts dozens of questions in your head that it doesn't answer afterwards. This continues throughout the series and is annoying right to the end. Of course, the aim of a story is to use questions to keep the viewer interested in the story, but unfortunately the satisfaction of having at least some of the questions answered is completely absent here. Because when "7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!" has a story, then it revolves around the question of why Prince Arnold became so brutal in their last lives and how Rishe can prevent it in this 7th life. Aside from Rishe getting closer to the prince, there's no real progress in that direction throughout the season, which is annoying.
Otherwise, what we have here is a fairly entertaining, if not overly unusual, romance intrigue story. The protagonist Rishe in particular stands out positively as a kind of stubborn, easy-going whirlwind. So if there had been a bit more of a common thread here than "stay with Prince Arnold" and if a reasonably consistent story had been tailored with him that went beyond "stay with Prince Arnold and do my thing", I could well have imagined that the far too long name would have been one of the few serious criticisms of the series. Although the character design, especially the lip design, really bothered me, because the far too detailed lower lip looks out of place.
Edit: Where does the "Villainess" in the title come from?

The anime is so mediocre that I really had to look for a reason not to simply abandon it (which I didn't feel like doing after episode 6).
At first glance, this reason can probably be found directly in the title. After all, it's supposed to be about "The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic", but I don't see much of it. The protagonist trains until he drops and when he falls over, he heals himself so that he can carry on. As a result, he becomes extremely muscular within a few days and also masters his magic excellently. Unfortunately, this idea is almost too normal
...
to be interesting. After all, there could be some really extreme stuff meant here - too much healing and creating cancer, for example.
Furthermore, the anime is very lame and riddled with scenes where nothing happens. Conversations upon conversations upon conversations - shouldn't be bad for a series, but unfortunately neither characters, themes nor world are interesting and the animations or music aren't good enough to make you really want to listen. The conversations are so devoid of content that you can skip through them and still understand everything!
Conclusion: More mush for us. Maybe the missing episodes will be convincing, but after watching the first 6, I don't think so.

"One of the best anime of 2023" is how I described the first half of "The Apothecary's Diaries". The characters are wonderful, the animations and the look fantastic, the setting more than just interesting. But unfortunately, the series digs its own grave in the second half.
Maomao is an employee of an antique Asian brothel. She is known as a strange fox, but is popular because of her honest nature. One day she is kidnapped and ends up as an employee in the imperial palace, where she attracts attention due to her nature, but also her immense knowledge and skills in the field of medicine.
As I
...
said before, the first few episodes - let's say up to episode 11 - were worthy of being called one of the best series of the year. Rarely is a character as excellent as Maomao, she is so good that she alone carries the entire series. There isn't really a story, but there are all sorts of incidents in the Imperial Palace in which the feline pharmacist gets involved. The anime plays with the animations and thus succeeds in making scenes twice as funny, twice as exciting, twice as sad,... .
The other characters also stand out positively, but they almost pale in comparison to such an excellent character as Maomao. The eunuch, who is constantly on her tail, is sometimes annoying to creepy, but nevertheless well realized and sympathetic from time to time.
Another really strong feature of this series are all the incidents, mostly medical, in which the protagonist gets involved. Like in a detective story, she has to solve case after case.
Really, really, I can't write 'really' often enough to emphasize how weak the story really was. Within these cases, by episode 11 at the latest, it begins to slowly crystallize that the anime wants to do more than portray the ancient life of a special apothecary. I am a person who always looks at the story first and was pleased at the beginning that there is now lore after all. But unfortunately this story is always just snippets, which are usually nothing more than hints and then interrupted by other stuff.
Nothing in this series is bad in principle, it's just really annoying when the anime holds something in front of your nose the whole time and at the last moment wants to take it away again. Imagine someone promising you a chocolate bar, giving you a piece and then starting to serve you pizza before giving you another piece of chocolate. What would that do? At any rate, if the season were more or less self-contained - in other words, if most of the questions had been answered at least reasonably satisfactorily - it wouldn't be so bad, which of course isn't the case.

To be honest, I'm very conflicted about this series, which is why I don't quite know how to start.
There's the part of me that would like to say the following:
"Delicious in Dungeon is a unique series in many ways. Laios has an extreme fascination with monsters and so visits a dungeon. One day, in order to save his sister, he and his friends are forced to eat monsters from the dungeon. Thanks to the distinctive, witty and likeable characters, this develops into a funny journey in which the viewer is presented with an elaborate world. Laughing and grimacing, the characters find out more and more
...
about the history of individual races, the world and the dungeon while also revealing how monsters live and work. So if you've ever wondered "How does fantasy creature X work?" and want to experience a distinct, entertaining and cheerful cast of characters, you're in for a treat!
But the other part says the following:
"Delicious in Dungeon" is a very boring series, which has some jokes, ideas and characters that work well at the beginning, but become dull over time. Until episode 6 they could just about carry the anime, but here I lost my last interest. Apart from the fact that they conspicuously take their time and all the more serious aspects of the series are dragged into ridicule - be it death or even the fact that they have extreme time pressure to save Laios' sister - the series lacks a certain development that would keep the story, characters or jokes fresh enough to make it entertaining for longer. Even the admittedly pretty art style can't help.
In any case, I abandoned the series after 6 episodes and have little interest in taking another look, but can still recommend the series if you are receptive to such ideas.
