I lost... but not in the sense you're thinking. I lost braincells. When I heard it is 18+, when I saw the first few episodes, my hopes shot up thinking imma have another redo of healer anime (yes, I enjoyed that anime and I ain't afraid to say so). I was expecting such great things from this show, especially cuz it has a few things that are pretty cool explained/done... but then... it happened... it just became mindless hentai with s*x slaves... man, each episode I hoped it would get better and get back to the vibe I got in the first few episodes, but ... no... it just went full on hentai with a bit of "simple" story to add more to it and make it into an "anime"... I saw the potential to be at the same level as redo of healer, and then I saw that potential being taken, thrown on the ground, stomped and spit on for the sake of it becoming a mindless fantasy of garbage hentai for degenerates. While I understand humans in nature are closer to being degenerates if given the opportunity with no repercussions, that there are quite a bit of people that if given the same situation, would do the same (most likely me included ;) ), that's not what I wanted to see from this show, not with that start.

First few episodes: very interesting, cool potential, wish to see more of that from the MC.
After those episodes: hentai... and more hentai... ooh, they re going to the labyrinth, finally... oh wait... they finished already?? wait, they going back to hentai???... sheesh... why not make it full hentai then????
It had potential for MC to become something really interesting, especially with the premise of the story... a slave world with bandits and stuff where killing bandits actually is encouraged, and there are quite a lot of bandits... Also other stuff that could have been expanded on and if blended right, could have brought the story to some kind of potential complex level, at least at powers, but no. God forbid that happened. Hentai is more important. I see it as a self insert for degenerates tbh, that's all there is to this anime.

For a show that has "harem" in its name, it for sure didn't show the harem until much later. Not a problem, I liked the slow pace stuff, but it's a bit too slow and then BAM, it rushes towards the end like crazy, most likely either cuz they don't think they are gonna make a second season or they just wanna show us brief moments of how he acquired them? Idk for sure, heard the manga doesn't have enough for a second season, if it's based on the manga, idk about the novel. MC seemed to have potential, but then he becomes a hentai degenerate, and not other kinds of degenerates I have hoped for, which brought the story to a dumb sh*t one for me. I'm not even gonna start the convo of s*x with slaves and its morality, seems like a rabbit hole to me... cuz after all, the slaves did put that they are open for s*x with their master and stuff... rabbit hole, I tell ya

Enjoyed the first few episodes... after that tho? Not really... I don't really like hentai (can you believe that??), it just ain't for me. I kept watching in the hope of seeing something more interesting like in the first few episodes, but I was wrong. Should have known... but I'm a bit of a completionist, so that also had a big part of why I finished it... Ig if you're into hentai, you will like it, but don't forget that it's also an anime, so it isn't as hardcore as a full on hentai show.

Right now it has 6.56 from 112.984 Ranked N/A (first time I'm seeing N/A) Popularity #949 Members 252,105 as of 03/03/2024. It deserves its mark tbh, it's a weird mesh between an isekai anime with meh story and hentai, and it leans more towards hentai, a lot more, and towards a man fantasies, some would say degenerate ones at that. If you're into hentai, you will like this anime more than I did, but for me it was like losing braincells. Wish it wouldn't ditch the plot for hentai later on... oh well, it is what it is.

I started watching 'Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World', expecting it would scratch my longing for something similar to 'Redo of Healer.' I've seen some posts predicting it as the next Redo. That was years ago.

Did it deliver? Nah, prepare to be disappointed.

1. It has different versions. One, a censored version. Two, an uncensored version. Three, a more hardcore version. (Cuts from version 3 is likely the same as the specials.)

The nudity and the amount of sex the MC gets is what makes this similar to Redo of Healer.


2. With despite all the sex, it's worse than mediocre. The sex isn't really all that exciting. The women in Michio's harem aren't exactly the best-looking girls, save for one, who is aristocratic but the title was stripped from her father.


3. Strip all the hentai in this, it is a mediocre isekai or probably worse. It's just the usual slop with gaming mechanics that don't really seem to be different.


4. Animation is fairly standard and not remarkable.


5. So far, the anime that I've watched that scratches my itch for something similar to Redo of Healer is 'Failure Frame' as well as 'The Most Notorious "Talker" Runs the World's Greatest Clan'. Both have edge lord characters that carry their respective shows.

The Most Notorious "Talker" Runs the World's Greatest Clan has a boring, generic main character. His character design is generic. There's no underlying angst or character motivation that would compel you to watch him.

Revenge was the compelling drive with Redo of Healer, and Failure Frame had this so it was a compelling watch even though it lacked the borderline aspects of Redo. Notorious Talker had a compelling MC.

No wonder this anime is missing a crucial ingredient.


6. This actually started okay. I like that Michio worked his ass off to earn money to buy his first sex slave, Roxanne. But after that, the story stagnated. They just fought monsters and had sex.

If this anime only had Episode 1 until he got Roxanne, I would have scored this a bit higher. There's no goal introduced in this anime that is driving his actions, so it's safe to say, he is just there to satisfy his lust.


7. This anime has an awesome OP and ED. Unfortunately, I don't consider them in the final score. But I appreciate how unique its ED is.


§ Conclusion

This anime failed to deliver on the hype that some people are claiming, i.e. that it might be the next Redo of Healer. This is why it falls flat in its face. With or without the nudity, it's a really bad and boring isekai.
