Preliminary (4/? eps)
I believe that this show gets a lot of flak for its art style (yes, the main character is drawn girly) but if you move past it, the storytelling is pretty solid, the comedy is hilarious, and it has great animation chops to back up the wide variety of fighting styles seen in the first few episodes. Coming in as someone who just saw this as generic isekai xyz, I was pleasantly surprised by the light atmosphere of the show, in contrast to the main characters wicked attitude. Its complemented with good voice actors and animation choreography. The colors are pleasant to look at, and ...

Sentai Daishikkaku has a nice and an intriguing idea – without monsters, heroes cannot exist. And not all actions of heroes are good ones, shining a light exposing the industry that was created benefiting from the whole ordeal between the two parties, selling that to the normal people in their world that are unaware of it.

Such a show needs a good cast of characters that can make or break the story now that they have introduced the premise. While there are few characters (Suzukiri) that was later focused on that I would consider to be kind of thoughtfully constructed, I still feel that the majority ...

Extremely enjoyable short japanese TV animation series, Bocchi the Rock, has successfully achieved so many atention from people who already tired of waiting for high quality show to watch, Bochi the Rock has genuinely bring back the joy of watching a comedy show. Although the genre is comedy, the theme raised is quite exciting and fascinating.

Hitori Gotou, an extremely anxious and socially awkward girl who longs to become a rock musician in spite of her struggles, while fulfilling her desire to one day be able to make friends. Suddenly, she is given a chance to do so after she is taken by Nijika Ijichi, who's ...

Anime about gaming. This is a type of anime that at the first sight you won't expect anything great and gonna dropped it soon as you have a little taste of this, but unfortunately you'll then feel like, "Wow, this is interesting".

The story isn't about an overpowered main character that get strong as easy like you snap your fingers. It shows of how hard gaming actually is. You know when you played a game that so difficult but then you finally made it, you'll get a satisfied feeling. That's what you'll feel when watching this. Watching a try hard gamer playing a hard game, that's ...

Production:
Visuals are decently good.
Audio is fine.

Setting:
MC is very unsatisfying to watch and is the most inconsistent character out of the entire cast.
Supporting characters are actually interesting with unique powers, personalities, and body types (important in this genre).
Story setting is fine, but the isekai elements seem unncessary for the plot as the story almost never acknowledges the isekai elements after the initial episode.
World rule consistency is not very good at the start, but this went away as the story developed.

Single mom who wants to be more motherly, but has a rebellious son. Rebellious son's best friend, who finds the mom attractive as fuck. Friend breaks both of his wrists saving the mom from falling down the stairs. Oh no, he can no longer jerk off. We know where this is going.

A generic MILF plotline with bad animation that's kind of so bad it's sort of funny. The shot of the mom falling down the stairs actually looks like she just jumped to her death, lol. The guy also has like 2ft long dick. I assume it's meant to be a regular dick because the ...

The MC is basically an overpowered protagnist that is the only one that can keep leveling up. It's guilty pleasure to root for the weakest mercenary and see him rise to the top. Except that the plot, character depth, development and side characters are very bare bones.

The art and animation is good, and VA for the MC is great. Fight scenes are nice but nothing out of this world or unique. The pacing is poor, and some episodes just goes by without adding any value to the series. Even with an already thread-bare plot and character depth, for some reason the animation studio decided ...

This film fucked me up to say the least. It made me feel like I was falling apart or that my mind was collapsing. Likewise, it's an incredibly complex 90 minutes of abstract philosophical ramblings thought up by a very depressed man. While it spoke to me, I will never again be able to watch it. It managed to get under my skin way too easily.

I believe that most of the people hating on The End of Evangelion, while they might "get" it, are not meant to be watching it. If you can't look at something abstract and fucking depressing and say, "Wow, this is meaningful," then Evangelion is not for you.

I will ...

I paused at least 3 times in the first few episodes and said "I don't like that this happened just to further the plot". If you think too hard, the show falls apart but if you just put it in the background and tune in for the action scenes it was quite stunning. The music also fully in English is something I'm going to listen to far after the show is finished. This is an afternoon action slop show.

The worst part of the show is the fights have no arc and we NEVER hear what's inside the main character's head or their reaction through their ...

Now this one I was really excited about but the story really didn’t feel like it went any where. The art and animation style were superb really blew my socks off. But the romantic elements weren’t really there by the end of the season there relationship had not progressed at all from the first episode, this should not have the romance tag on it. Rent a Gf S1 had more romance than this. Everything was so predictable in this show, I had a really hard time finishing this one it never kept my attention. I am genuinely confused on how this almost has a 8 ...

Once again, we're plunged back into the intriguing world of our favorite psychopath in an unconventional high school setting. This season, like its predecessors, centers around Ayanokouji's tactical genius as he orchestrates victories from the shadows, manipulating events without ever taking center stage.

In terms of production, there have been no changes, which is a relief. However, a bit more action would have been welcome to spice things up.

Overall, this season serves as a solid continuation of the narrative. We delve deeper not only into Ayanokouji's complex character but also into those around him. While the storyline advances significantly, there are moments when it feels somewhat ...

tl;dr: A story about a group of juvenile cell mates suffering through life that’s full of lows and not enough highs.

This anime takes place in Japan during the aftermath of World War II, and is about a group of seven teenagers that end up as cell mates at Shounan Special Reform School. The anime has two phases, each composing approximately half of the season. The first phase focuses on what occurs at the prison school. The guard and doctor in charge are both incredibly abusive, which makes it a hellish situation in and of itself. However, things get worse when one of the inmates is ...

It is a disappointing follow-up that falls short of expectations set by its first season. This second half exacerbates the issues of the show, making it quite tedious to sit through.
The overemphasis on young, sexualized characters (loli) is deeply unsettling. It's disturbing to see such content normalized and even celebrated. It raises serious questions about the audience's taste and the intentions of the creators. Also, weird jokes about women. It's just disgusting.
Beyond the uncomfortable themes, the season struggles to offer meaningful content yet. It feels like the writers lost their direction, resulting in episodes filled with filler material that adds nothing to the overall narrative. ...

Tonari no Youkai-san is an underrated anime, and it has the potential to become a beautiful anime due to the way it presents its characters with stories that involve fantasy when using mythological characters(such as youkais and nekomatas), but seems as real as a person's daily life ordinary person, with their problems and healthy interactions.Trying to give this anime a chance, it's the same as trying to embrace a rich culture about the Japanese and their mythological legends, bringing in the plot, youkais and nekomatas, to a transparent and peaceful setting, where everything happens in a unique way and they evolve into something that helps them ...

Okay, I know you're looking at that rating and thinking to yourself "What's so bad about this children's movie that you feel the need to rate it so low? Maybe you shouldn't be watching kids stuff if you're just gonna hate it!" But here's the thing: I had no idea that The Klutzy Witch would be as bad as it turned out. If anything, I was looking forward to it! Also, there's a lot of kids stuff I watched that I legitimately enjoy, some I love to death, others not as much. I just watched the first Cardcaptor Sakura movie today, for the first time ...

This had a promising start and went downhill so fast. If you're a woman- skip this show.

First off- they didn't label this a harem anywhere, it absolutely is, and as almost every harem anime ever- the women are treated horrendously as characters. The first 2 episodes are fun, we see the MC slowly getting more powerful, using his brain and muscle to solve problems, gaining friends, and pretty average world building for a generic western fantasy isekai. The most entertaining part of this show is the concept of being reborn as a "lesser" species such as the goblin, and the MC slowly upgrading the goblin's ...

- LINDENFILMS' animation adds significant value to the show, earning it an additional 2 points in my assessment, irrespective of the material's quality.
- The evening scenes are beautifully colored, evoking a sense of mystery and awe.
- The show possesses natural, unintentional humor, avoiding the need to rely on a world filled with dim-witted or unpleasant characters like in Konosuba, which can limit the scope of humor.
- Despite their quirks, most characters remain true to themselves, adding depth and authenticity to the story.
- The show skillfully captures the complexities of human emotions, showcasing our propensity for contradiction and self-contradiction.
- Many individuals like Kou, are depicted as ...

I'm really VERY HAPPY to finally be able to write this review because it is very special! I had been trying to finish Soul Eater since 2015, when I was a teenager, but I could NEVER get past episode 10! This review is spoiler-free.

For reference, this is my favourite manga arc of all time, so I expected a lot from it. Sadly, it is also the classic case of a manga arc which isn't long enough for a 13 episodes batch, but at the same time not short enough for 90 minutes movie. This movie adapts from chapter 136 to 161, a nightmare for any studio trying to tackle the issue since there's a lot that needs to be cut.

Even without prior knowledge of the manga, I believe you will feel that the pace is a bit rushed. Scenes flow very quickly, but the movie ...

It´s a great isekai anime so far, but despite being a goblin evolving( with very human like features), Re:Monster doesn't bring anything knew to the market. Re: Monster has a decent animation, with a storyline where despite being the strongest, you use others to help you and them evolve. It gives you the perspective of a monster side very well, when interacting with other monsters and humans, for the good and the bad. The pacing is really fast some time, but always have a chronology line between the different days. There is an harem, but this time at least the interest of the main ...

Overview:
While it's a mindset I'll never quite wrap my head around, it's an indisputable fact that some people enjoy risking their lives for dumb thrills, which is where extreme sports come from. "Air Gear" is what happens when extreme sports do shonen battle anime, following teams of people racing, fighting and competing against each other with what are essentially very hi-tech rollerblades. However, while the premise is fresh, "Air Gear" sadly falls short in a number of areas, even if it is still an enjoyable series that I do not regret spending my time on.

"Air Gear" tells the story of Itsuki "Ikki" Minami, a ...

This season MAPPA is making a baseball anime which is not only good with it's production value and references, but also fun and enjoyable to watch.

When we talk about baseball anime, the likes of One Outs, Major and Diamond no Ace are first titles to be mentioned, but the way this anime is going, I believe it's going to make it's place amongst them.

Baseball is the main theme of this show, but it's comedy centered as well, the main characters are your typical anime high schoolers with nothing much that stands out in their characterstics, except for Kaname Kei, who has amnesia and ...

What a goddamn great movie. I‘m writing this fresh out of the cinema. I‘ll try to split the review into some categories, without spoiling. I recommend having seen the first two seasons of the show, but it is not necessarily required as all of the important aspects are explained again.

Animation: 10/10
Wit Studio, Toho Animation, Cloverworks, everyone working on the movie gave it its best. Spy X Family continues to have some of the best animation in the industry. The fight scenes were amazing, the camera movement, every single detail.

Story: 8/10
I‘ll try to spoil as little as possible here. Our family is going on a trip ...

This was honestly not as bad as people said it was. If you compare it to the other works of studio Ghibli such as Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke etc. then it obviously falls short, but as a whole the story was decent. For once, I prefered the dub as I felt it matched the story's setting in England more, but maybe that's just me. If you've not seen many Ghibli movies then this is probably not the best place to start as it is very different to the rest of them (animation included) but if so, you will probably enjoy at least some part of ...

One of my favorite series from long ago taught me this - 'Without love, it cannot be seen'. Frieren proves us this once again. To the viewers who are searching for excitement in the battles, suggestiveness by the characters or a bubbly love story - this won't suit their taste. I cried happy tears during the entire season just because of how pure and genuine are the characters. I love the way the author shows how small gestures can affirm love, affection, care. You must have a certain mindset to notice these things and if you are casually watching the series just because it's popular ...

Final verdict - average across the board, but not in a terrible way

A lot of the reviews here are quite dissenting so I'll offer an alternate perspective. From the fast food anime industry comes another mid banger 'Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru'. A story about how, in a futuristic world, humans must play games against Gods and win. If you win 11? games you get to make any wish you want!

"Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again" is an anime with a simple title and premise, yet it exudes an amazing amount of wholesomeness, warmth, and life motivation.

The story begins with an elderly couple waking up one day to find themselves young again for some inexplicable reason. Realizing they haven't truly experienced life to the fullest, they embark on a journey to embrace this newfound gift and enjoy life to the fullest. While the premise may seem straightforward, it's the progression of the story that truly sets it apart.

Well, if this anime were any more basic, it would come with crayons and a coloring book. It's like they took the IQ test and said, "Nah, let's aim lower." This anime appears to target ***** who may prefer straightforward narratives and uncomplicated characters.

Rudi's journey of self-improvement is commendable, yet his lingering perversion presents a stark contrast to the story's overall message. Despite his growth, Rudi essentially remains the same person from his past life, albeit with enhanced confidence and power. It would have been intriguing to explore how societal perceptions of him shift based on his appearance and achievements, highlighting the disparity ...

The plot is good, the animation, the fan service is good. There is only one thing that anime's studio has missed out in the name of avoiding age restriction, there is no blood shown or not even an injury but just some colored slight black mark

When there is no blood in a serious situation of the story, the audience will not be able to tell a character is in critical condition and you may find it weird why the character is dieing or standing up when you can see he/she looks perfectly fine after being hit. This anime is pretty cute BUT....

It falls into the telltale trappings of a male protagonist who is afraid of the romantic advances from the shows beautiful female lead. I get that this has been a common trope for the last two decades in anime to instill romantic comedy and control the content rating so that the characters don't fall into adult situations. But it's 2024 and other shows have started to reflect "healthy adult relationships" where grown ups act like grown ups and there isn't anything lewd about it. Frieren is an absolute masterpiece and from my personal view, I think, that it definitely deserves the #1 spot on this page.
I've watched many anime, but Frieren has touched me so deeply, that is my favorite anime of all time.

What I like most about the series, is the distorted perception of time. It's philosophically very deep and it gives you another perspective about life, how it passes, and how to enjoy that passing time.

Although, it is not action packed, the fights were just top notch. The animation is another level and most importantly the characters are actually strategizing and calculating how to fight. Not just ...

These starting episodes are an utter letdown, presenting a lackluster and uninspired introduction to the series.

Firstly the animation quality, which fails to meet the standards set by its predecessors and modern anime offerings. Season 3 struggles to maintain the same level of visual fidelity, with noticeable inconsistencies in character design, animation fluidity, and background art. The character animations come off as stiff, failing to effectively convey any semblance of emotion. The artistic quality resembles the work of an amateur fan artist from middle school. It often feels like watching incomplete scenes rather than fully animated sequences. Animators excessively depend on frequent ...

The second season of Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan sticks to its guns, delivering more of the same zany antics and expanding its already vast ensemble cast. Fans will find the humor familiar, with jokes that riff on both the events of the first season and broader Japanese and anime culture.

Visually, it's business as usual, with the animation retaining its signature style, limitations and all. However, there's a subtle shift in pacing. Rather than quick-fire gags, many jokes now sprawl across multiple episodes, demanding a bit more patience from viewers. While this approach allows for deeper comedic exploration, it can also make the series feel a ...

To any romantic at heart- this show is amazing. It doesn't include unnecessary lewd moments or immediately force romantic feelings. It's going to be hard to explain why I'm never going to be recommending a show that I thoroughly enjoyed, consider fairly solid, and believe exceeds in a lot of areas where most anime fail.

Metallic Rouge has all the makings of an incredible show, it is in theory a love letter to all sci-fi fans. I sort of decided on this anime on a whim. I generally prefer slice of life comedies, so this seemed about right. The first half of the series is rather bland, but I didn't hate it. All of a sudden though, things shifted in a very different direction, and I'll be honest, I don't think it was for the better. At least not entirely.
