"Captivating"
This is just one of many things I can say about this anime. Right from the very first episode, this anime pulls your full attention with its visuals and fresh story.
It tells the story of a boy named Natsuki Ikaruga in a world where the sea has claimed the land. Having lost one of his legs and his parents, he is determined to bring fortune for himself. He goes down to the sea, hoping to find a "treasure," only to find a real treasure—a loving companion, Atri.
Atri is an android, seemingly mysterious at first. Her presence feels like that of a goddess sent to
...
this world to save humanity. However, we later find out that she’s just a clumsy android who can barely do anything correctly. She can’t cook, she can’t fight, she’s not superhumanly strong—she can barely do menial tasks. Despite this, her presence and existence are important to those around her, especially for Natsuki. She provides emotional support for Natsuki, being caring, comforting, and attentive during his darkest times. She strives to be his supporting "leg." Atri shows that even though she’s not human, she can be the most human. She talks like a human, she acts like a human, and she flirts like a human.
The story focuses on the daily life of a group of youngsters happily enjoying life and creating good memories despite living in a broken world.
The visual depiction of the world is what I like to describe as "hauntingly beautiful." You can see that the world they live in is a post-apocalyptic world, but you can’t help but admire the beauty of nature taking back its territory. The beautiful sea mirrors the bright blue sky, the greens crawl their way to the human-made concrete, and the abandoned buildings with thousands of stories tell more. You can’t help but appreciate the beauty of it.
Speaking of the post-apocalyptic world, this anime also portrays the struggles of people living in it. They will make you feel bad and pity them, even when it’s not portrayed as something sad. You see a kid reading a book in the black of night, holding onto a glimpse of light from a poorly made lamp; a school that doesn’t have anyone to teach; a man desperately trying to change mother nature with nothing but his will. You can’t help but feel pity.
It is also important to note that despite the happy and cheerful tone, we know very well how this anime will go. We know that anytime there’s a robot girl involved in an emotional romance like this, it won’t end in the most pleasing way. You might laugh and giggle for now, but who knows when you’ll get slapped by a painful reality. So, prepare that box of tissues because your heart and feelings might be subjected to the most horrific kind of thriller.
The animation is stunning—not movie-quality stunning, but stunning nonetheless. It gives you a sense of nostalgia while at the same time feeling fresh and new.
The music is amazing. Bringing two famous idol groups for the OP and ED just shows how much care they put into the music. The ED is cheerful and uplifting, and the OP song is beautiful. Nogizaka46 is a powerhouse in Japanese entertainment, and this song proves just how talented they are. The song feels cheerful and catchy while also heartfelt and touching. It’s as if they make sure you can enjoy and vibe to it, but at the same time, they ensure that it can spawn a sea in your eyes in the near future.
Overall, if you are into a visually pleasing slow-burn romance filled with "comedy," or if you feel awfully happy and want some tears in your eyes, give this one a try. It won’t disappoint.

"it is said 70% of high school couples breaks up within a year and almost none of them can survive They're toyed with by love. They weep for it.They laugh for it.I don't let my heart waver over such fleeting connection because i have no expectation for reality or myself. It's just sometimes i'd think...what if i were to get to experience that kind of life ? What if there comes a girl who'd cry for me ? What if i were a protagonist to a light novel ? How would i feel ?"
What If?
Rem, Kuroneko, Onodera, Nanami, Ichigo, Rei—you name it. What do they all have
...
in common? They didn't end up with their MC. It's funny and a bit sad.
The same goes for the heroines in this anime. None of them end up with their crushes—they're all dumped. And their crushes? They're just other high schoolers in their school. So, who's our "lucky" MC? Kazuhiko, another high schooler in their school. He's got zero friends, zero love experience, and his life is as straight and uneventful as it gets. He's merely an observer of our heroines, the lens through which we view their lives.
Kazuhiko is our eyes and ears; he's us. When we see our favorite anime girls losing in the battle of love, we feel sad. "If I were there, I would choose and date her!" But would they really fall for us? They don't fall in love with us; they fall for the MC. And in this anime, the heroines don't instantly fall head over heels for Kazuhiko either. Moving on isn't easy. No heart can sail to another place when its sails are still ragged.
But what if Kazuhiko could use this opportunity to create his own love story? What if he could turn these losing heroines into winning heroines? What if he could actually experience love?
That's the main plot of this anime, wrapped up in a bittersweet comedy of high school life.
The animation is breathtaking, like watching a high-budget anime movie. The lighting, the backgrounds, the fluidity of the animation—simply amazing.
The opening and ending sequences are head-bopping and eye-pleasing, again, simply amazing.
The characters feel lively and engaging. By the end of each episode, you'll find yourself rooting for them.
And Kazuhiko isn't just a soulless self-insert; he has a personality that makes him more than just a placeholder.
Overall, if you're into romcoms and want to try a different take on romance, give this one a try.

Blink blink and glitter, shiny and sparkly.
If you are looking for a feel good and adorable anime with chill and lighthearted tone, you can give this a try.
The plot is simple and straight forward so turn off your brain when you watch it,sit back, don't question about the detail and enjoy the cuteness flowing through you.
There's nothing intense going on in this anime, just overpowered adventurer going on with their lovely day in their lovely world, the only thing intense about this anime is a the amount of head pats that present, cause holy cow there's a lot of it.
The animation is colorful and bright, it's good to say the
...
least.
Both the OP and ED are enjoyable, it's serene, cheerful and fun to hear.
Overall,if you are looking for some cute and cuddly anime with that "Kira~~Kira~~" energy, give this one a try

NOW THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE AN ANIME ABOUT VTUBERS
This anime is the hidden gem of this season without a doubt—too underrated for its own good.
Imagine one day you are watching your oshi's livestream. From what you know, she's a very "seiso" VTuber: warm, wholesome, polite, and has a strong sense of dignity and elegance. After a few moments, she decides to end the stream, but well, oh well, she forgets to turn it off. Then you find her saying a lot of stuff that's not "seiso" at all.
Vtuber Legends tells the story of an ex-corporate slave trying her luck in the VTubing industry. Though
...
she doesn't seem to have much luck in this industry either, one day a happy accident happens to her, exposing her much more vulgar, bubbly, and frontal side. Instead of going with a serious tone, the creator decides to have the most wholesome outcome of this situation, where everyone actually supports and likes her real personality.
This anime has a lot of comedy and is actually funny. It's one of the few animes that can genuinely make people laugh, especially if you are a VTuber fan. There's a lot of deranged words getting thrown around, like "gooning" and "came," which mostly come from our MC, and this is very accurate to real life, as there are indeed some VTubers that act like that. There's also a lot of VTuber-related content presented in this anime, such as VTubers simping on other VTubers, Yuri shipping, clipping, and they even created VTuber avatars specifically for this anime, which is good stuff.
Aside from all the comedy and over-exaggerated VTuber shenanigans, this anime also shows a grounded and realistic side of VTubing, like monetization, collabs, content management, and so on. So it's not only entertaining, but it also gives you a glimpse into how the VTubing industry works.
This anime also highlights the bond and friendship between VTubers that is supportive towards each other, and it tries to convey a positive message to always be yourself.
Every character is likable, especially our MC. Despite the fact that she's loud and a booze addict, she's still a fun and charming character, and Ayane Sakura really gives it her all in voicing her—one of the best voice acting performances this season.
The animation is beautiful and colorful. I also love how they're more focused on animating and designing the main characters, so much so that they don't even bother designing background characters, only showing them as grey, headless stickmen.
The opening song is a bop—that is the type of music that makes you want to dance like a maniac.
Overall, if you are a VTuber fan, this is highly recommended. Even for non-VTuber fans, this anime still works well as a comedy anime.

Another season, another dungeon-exploring anime, another basic and by-the-book plotline. But here's the catch: lolis. Who doesn't like lolis? Well, a lot of people actually, but if you happen to be into lolis, you're likely going to enjoy it because it features two lovely lolis with adorable voices that will brighten your heart.
The plot is just like your average dungeon-exploring anime: go to dungeon -> kill monsters -> sell your loot -> go home. Yeah, that's basically the whole plot. Anime with this kind of story usually relies on fanservice or comedy. In terms of comedy, it's not really a knee-slapper, and in terms of
...
fanservice, not much is shown either. A lot of moments that had the potential to be decent fanservice from the source material are cut from the anime, so the only fanservice you can enjoy is the cute lolis. A lot of fight scenes, character development, and important moments are also cut, making everything feel rushed.
This anime also has very interesting world-building, a combination of classic dungeon fantasy with the modern world, which is very interesting. But again, sadly, it's not explored very well.
The animation is decent, but you can definitely see all the budget went to the first servant summoning scene.
The music is decent for the most part, but the opening song is the main interest here. It doesn't need to go THAT hard, but it does.
The character designs, sadly, are also butchered. In the source material, they are sexier and more fanservice-y, but here it's very tame. You can find more fanservice in the ending animation than in the actual anime.
So overall, if you have a lot of time on your hands and are into cute lolis fighting monsters, you might give this a try.

Anger, confusion, and pity.
Those were the dominant feelings I experienced while watching this anime.
First of all, this has one of the toughest-to-watch first episodes of the season, and not in a good way.
Imagine this: Rumi and Naori are twins, and Rumi has a crush on someone. Not just a simple crush like "yeah, I kinda like him," but a deep, intense love for Jun. Rumi sees him as perfect for her, so perfect that she feels jealous when her twin gets close to him. She feels exiled, but one day, she mans up—or womans up—and decides to confess her love to her crush. He's
...
a bit taken aback, sure, but he accepts her love. After spending time together, his love for her keeps growing, and eventually, he loves her just as much as she loves him. They do lovey-dovey couple things, they hug and kiss. At this point, a normal anime couple would keep this relationship going, eventually marrying. But nope, the girl suddenly says, "yeah, man, we should break up." And this situation isn't made any better by providing a decent reason—she doesn't even provide one. Her reason for breaking up with him is, "it's not because of you, it's just me." Wh-what the fuck? What kind of fcking reasoning is that? I'm surprised Jun didn't have a mental breakdown on the spot. And you know what makes it worse? Rumi actually says, "I want you to date my sister." Not only does she break up with him for a very dumb reason, but she also forces him to date her sister. And by forced, I'm not exaggerating here; she indeed forces him to confess his love to her sister, basically saying, "hey, why haven't you made a move with my sister yet? Don't make our breakup worthless." And Jun actually does that eventually. He confesses his love to Naori and they date. Later, we find out that Rumi broke up with Jun because she felt bad and "cheated" on her sister. It's important to note that Rumi won fair and square here. She confessed her love and initiated it first. Sure, she wasn't the closest one to Jun, but they did date, and Jun did love her. Unlike Naori, who never confessed her love to Jun but rather waited for Jun to confess to her, despite the fact that they were very close and had similar interests. And it's not like Rumi's confession had ill intent behind it; she confessed her love to Jun because she LOVES him, not to spite her sister or anything.
And if you think it's just me that thinks this is stupid and I'm taking it too seriously, no. In the show, Rumi's friend also thinks her decision is stupid:
"You love him and still dumped him? That makes no sense."
"I guess Jinguji Rumi's just plain old stupid."
And Rumi agrees; she knows it's fcking stupid because she still loves Jun. These twins treat Jun like he's a plot device and an emotional fleshlight. This romance anime is one of those rare occasions where I care more about the MC than the heroines. Usually, nobody gives a shit about a romance anime MC. If they're shit like Kazuya, people want him to drop dead. If they're kind and not dense like Rentarou, people praise them. But no, this dude is trying his best to tame two fcking time bombs.
Also worth mentioning, nobody talks like a normal human in this show except Rumi. Rumi actually feels like a normal human being. It seems like in every conversation, they have to reference some other piece of media.
"Bla bla bla The Shining, bla bla Star Trek, bla bla American machine, bla bla Black Dahlia, bla bla fcking Norwegian Woods, so lewd isn't it?"
Sometimes the references make sense, but sometimes they just mention them for the sake of mentioning them, as if the creator wants to tell us, "HEY LOOK HERE, I FCKING WATCH MEDIA THAT IS TOTALLY NOT OVERRATED AND KNOWN BY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE." And you might argue they act like that because they're otaku, but there's a character named Toyoshige. He's Jun's friend and an otaku as well. He also references some other media, but he talks about it in a very joking manner. He doesn't reference it out of nowhere; it actually makes sense and, most importantly, he doesn't do it all the time. And if you say, "maybe he's not as bad as Jun and Naori," no, he's worse than both of them. Toyoshige is very vulgar and even into p*rn. He has a crush on Naori, and his reason? She's pretty and has big tits. Funny how the most vulgar character is actually the most acceptable character in this anime.
At this point, rather than finding the one who's more likable, you're trying to find the one who's least unlikable.
Negative points aside, now let's talk about the good things about this anime.
The animation is solid. It's beautifully drawn by today's standards. While it's obviously overshadowed by other anime this season, it still holds its place.
The opening song is catchy, and the opening animation is so cheerful that it might trick you into thinking this anime has a lot of lighthearted and comedic moments.
The interaction of the characters is actually great when they're not doing the forced drama. The lovey-dovey scenes are adorable, and its subtle romance is very cute. Moments like them just sleeping next to each other or suddenly hugging actually make you say, "awwww."
The character designs are very good. The anime makes sure that you see Jun as an attractive and smart person and the twins as very cute girls despite their mildly unlikable personalities. On one side, you have Rumi, a short-haired tomboy, and on the other, Naori, a cheerful girl with a voluptuous body.
Overall, this anime belongs to the "F*ck you, I'll see you next week" type. You have many reasons to hate it, but you just can't and will always find yourself wanting more. It's not surprising if this anime gets a rating under 7 and might be dropped after one episode by several people, but if you're into teenage dramas, you're probably going to love it.

Have you ever done drugs? Especially LSD? No? If you want to feel something similar, just watch this anime.
In 2017, Yorgos Lanthimos directed a movie called "The Killing of a Sacred Deer." Just like this anime, it has "deer" in its title.
So, what's the point of me bringing that up?
Well, despite the deer in its title, the movie barely shows any actual deer. This anime, on the other hand, makes sure to show you DEER EVERY. FCKING. MINUTE.
DEER, DEER, EVERYWHERE. DON’T YOU DEER FORGET THAT THIS ANIME IS ABOUT DEER.
IN THE OPENING: DEER
IN THE TITLE FRAME: DEER
...
IN THE WALKWAY: DEER
IN THE CLASSROOM: DEER
IN THE RANDOM WAREHOUSE: DEER
And in the ending, YOU FCKING GUESS IT: DEER.
AND IT DOESN’T STOP WITH JUST DEER. YOU'VE GOT DEER BISCUITS, A DEER CLUB, A DEER GIRL HANGING ON AN ELECTRIC POLE, A GIRL THAT ENVIES A DEER, AND MORE DEAR SHENANIGANS. DEER GOD, IS THERE ANYTHING BUT DEER?
Surprisingly, there is. This anime actually has a story: a bizarre encounter of a seemingly high-profile and well-mannered student with a seemingly female high schooler with deer antlers. Then the story goes from there. We learn that she is a delinquent, a tsundere, and a virgin—a tsundere virgin. This tsundere virgin has a crazy sister who loves her too much. There are a few sprinkles of shoujo ai spices in here, but not much—too little even. Then this anime shows you that all of that is just a side plot because the main plot is and will always be DEER.
"This ain't about you girls; this is about DEER."
The animation is awesome. The character design is cute, charming, and pretty. Sometimes the animation looks like the budget jumped from "yeah, just some standard CGDCT animation" to "holy shit, how much does that cost?" Overall, very good animation—very fluid. Also, this anime has one of the best blood splatters I've ever seen so far this season, despite the fact that it's not really necessary. So, good animation, above average.
Then, there's the deer. They seem so out of place. They look like they don't even belong in this anime, but again, it's definitely made on purpose because they're trying to make the deer seems like a sentient natural forces spying on the MC's life like a watchful god.
The song is bopping. The ED song is very catchy, and adding a deer cracker-making video in the background just adds extra deer-iness to the show.
And the OP song is catchy, too catchy even. So catchy that it still plays even when I’ve already turned it off. Sometimes it appears in my dreams. Sometimes it haunts me in my nightmares. Sometimes it just digs its way into my head, making me sing it without my consent. Sometimes I bang my head to stop it, but the voices keep getting louder and louder. But overall, it's a very catchy and enjoyable song.
This show is the Deer-est deer anime that ever deer-ed, and giving it a 10 is merely a fraction of my thankfulness to the deer god for blessing me with this peak cinema.

Ah yes, the good old story of an otaku who has no interest in 3D girls yet is surrounded by beautiful, sexy girls who want a piece of him.
Does this anime do anything different from its predecessors? Barely. Almost every trope you expect in this type of anime is present.
An MC with an overly exaggerated otaku personality where he poses every single minute, saying, "I DON'T NEED REAL GIRLS, ANIME GIRLS ARE ALL I NEED." But here's the catch—he actually has a very good reason to be this way. Being left alone by your mother at 8 is pretty bad, right? Even at school, everyone
...
looks at him like he's a trash bag, so it's pretty understandable for him to act like that. Is his posing every minute and yelling "I DON'T NEED REAL GIRLS" at the top of his lungs cringy? Surely this level of cringe won't bother you. If you can handle something like Rent-a-Girlfriend, then you can certainly handle this.
The anime later introduces heroines that seem even crazier than the MC. One of the heroines is into erotic things to a level that even the MC can't match, and another heroine is a popular and cute model who looks at a chronic weeb who keeps saying how much he loves anime girls and thinks to herself, "Yeah, I love that guy."
Going in, I thought the MC would be a dense guy who keeps saying, "I don't care about 3D girls" until the very last episode. But nope, in the first episode, his entire motto and way of life shatter after he lays his eyes upon a girl doing sexy cosplay. Turns out, he still likes real girls after all, but he keeps hiding and denying it by saying, "Oh no, I don't like real girls, I won't see you with dirty eyes" (he obviously does) and "Oh no no no, I don't fall in love with 3D girls, I FALL IN LOVE WITH 2.5D girls" (there's no such thing as that).
As far as the story goes, this is pretty much the main plot: an otaku slowly realizing that he loves real girls just as much as he loves his anime girls. Sure, the anime will have its serious moments discussing his upbringing and why he shows no interest toward real girls, but that's about it. Nothing too serious or overly dramatic, besides people come to see this anime for sexy anime girls, nothing else. Which leads us to the fanservice.
The fanservice in this anime is mostly subtle and teasing rather than full-blown nudity. You won't see bare nipples or sex scenes. Rather than relying on nudity alone, they cater to using lewd moments, eargasm, and the sexy design of the heroines' outfits. And trust me, it works because the creator made the heroines' designs so FCKING HOT. They are cooking with it. Sometimes this subtle lewdness is much hotter than full-blown nudity, and this anime proves it even further.
Overall, if you are into ecchi with a light story, give this one a try.

When a harem evolves to the point that it consists of only one girl, you get Pseudo-harem. This anime is perfect for those who love harems filled with lots of girls with different personalities but just can't choose who to simp over. Or maybe you just want to see two well-adjusted and kind-hearted adolescents having lovey-dovey moments.
This anime is the equivalent of powdered sugar-covered candy. Every part of it is sweet and delightful: the colorful animation, the serene background music, and the way the characters interact. Simply amazing.
Right off the bat, though, the story doesn't have one plot. It's more of a compilation of
...
their sweet daily lives. But then again, this anime doesn't really need a plot when it's pretty much visual diabetes. It was meant to make you giggle and punch the air with joy and a slight hint of jealousy like an idiot, and it succeeds in doing so.
The animation is pretty good and well-suited for this type of anime. It's not visually stunning or anything, but it does the job of capturing the cute and wholesome tone of the show.
The OST is also much appreciated. It gives off that 2010s romcom anime feel. The OP can easily be on my no-skip list; play it on the speaker and put it on full volume.
The MC in this anime is very likable. He's not dense or annoying. He's supportive, humorous, and his voice is surprisingly nice to hear. He's not a plain beta male like in some anime. He knows he likes the heroine and sometimes even confesses his "love" to her but cleverly hides it by saying things like "Oh, it's just acting" or "Oh no, I'm confessing to one of your personalities." But I think the creator isn't very subtle about showing that he indeed really likes her.
As for the heroine, oh boy, where do I start? She's genuinely amazing. A girl that can "transform" into any type of girl that you want, but at the same time, remain the same sweet and lovable girl that she is. You can't get anything better than that. The author was definitely daydreaming when they created her. If she's based on someone the author knows, then I'm seriously envious of the author for ever meeting someone like her. Every time she smiles, I just want to get on my knees and propose to her. She radiates so much sunshine, energy, and positivity that if you put Enoshima Junko next to her, they would start pulling at each other like magnets.
Highly recommended for those with a sweet tooth.

Don't judge a book by its cover, or in this case, don't judge an anime by its title.
The title of this anime can be very misleading to modern anime watchers because, let's be honest, when was the last time you saw an anime with "sister" or "stepsister" in its title that wasn't about a brother trying to fuck his sister, or vice versa? The same goes for me, and boy oh boy, was I surprised.
Right off the bat, one of the first things I noticed was how calm and serene the atmosphere in this anime is. No yelling, no pumpy music, just two characters monologuing
...
with a melancholic background song. It really threw me off guard, especially when I went in expecting an Eromanga Sensei-type of story.
They also portray the whole stepsibling situation in a grounded and quite realistic way. None of them suddenly fall in love with each other and gushing genital juices all over but at the same time, they don't actively try to kill each other either. Their interaction is rather awkward, short, and very minimalistic, to say the least cause let's be honest, if you hypothetically got a stepsister in a very sudden way, and she happened to be your age and in the same class as you, you wouldn't be happy or sad but either confused or just "Oh... cool, I guess?",cause when you live your life used to being alone and suddenly you're not alone anymore, you can't just instantly adapt to it. It takes time, sometimes even more than you think.
Another refreshing part is the fact that their parents are actually... THERE. They're not going overseas to work for the whole anime or suddenly dying in a freak accident like in some anime. They’re pretty much normal people. None of them actively try to hook up their children with each other, and none of them act like manbabies. They actually feel like adults. Even better, they contribute to the story instead of just being plot devices or simple fanservice for hag lovers.
As for the animation, I can't say much. It's decent, or better put, average. Nothing special, but it could be better.
The music, on the other hand, is amazing. The scoring and background music are used effectively to emphasize the calming tone of the anime, and the OP song is amazing. Fhána never fails to make an amazing anime song; they just can't fail. Even in this anime, they ate and licked the plate clean.
Overall, if you are into a slow-burn romance with subtle conflict and narrative and dialogue-driven anime, this is a must-watch.
