Sentai Daishikkaku

For the past 13 years, the Nefarious Monster Army have appeared beneath their floating fortress every Sunday to advance their goal of conquering Earth. Luckily, the Dragon Keepers are here to save the day! Having defeated the majority of the monsters during their initial invasion, the heroes now routinely show up to clear away any remnants of resistance. Unbeknownst to the public, however, every fight beyond the first has been a deliberate show put on by both sides: the Dragon Keepers reap the fame and prestige from fighting imaginary enemies, while the surviving weakest monsters, altogether called Dusters, are allowed to live for another day.

Sentouin D, a Duster tired of living this life of shame, leaves the fortress in an attempt to overturn his fate. With the unexpected help of the mysterious ranger Yumeko Suzukiri, he discovers the key to defeating the Dragon Keepers lies in their Divine Artifacts—ultimate weapons crucial to the rangers' transformation and unique powers. Teaming up with Suzukiri to infiltrate the garrison of Red Keeper Sousei Akabane, Sentouin D must defy all expectations to save his species from the cruel hands of humans.

I'm not a big power ranger fan or anything. I watched it as a kid, but I haven't kept up with it. You only need to get the basic concept to enjoy this spin on it. Go Go Loser Ranger really steps it up in terms of character design, and action feeling like they have some meaning. This show keeps you guessing as to what will happen next, and the fight scenes seem purposeful and realistic as to the in universe mechanics.

There was a few things that kept me from giving this a higher score. One, some character actions seem a little illogical, but a ... lot of character are portrayed as not being mentally sane. Like just a basic thing of killing an enemy you could interrogate to find out more. Stuff like that. Also, sometimes weapon power seems inconsistent. Like a laser is powerful enough to blow a hole through someone, but then later it's just a big knockback. It could be explained possibly due to some weapons getting low on energy, but it felt a big weird. also as a side note, som character are portrayed in a big of a fanservicey way with all the tight suits, but it's not that bad.

Anyway, It's a cool premise, and there's a lot of questions that make me want to keep watching. I'm a little wary of season 2 with it's rating being lower, but I'm moving on anyway and will leave me review after. Either way, I recommend season 1.

Mixed Feelings

An anime that asks "What if those basic enemies actually tried?".

First, the bad. The anime itself is a sprinting mess. While well animated, it jumps very quickly from one arc to the next. There is barely any characterization outside of our MC. The "Rangers" themselves get some backstory, but It's not enough to redeem them.

The good: Very well animated. The english dub is great. It has a few twists that are somewhat easy to predict, but still good.

If you have time to kill and feel like rooting for an idiot to have revenge, give it a watch. But, I may reccomend anything else ... if you require more substance in your anime. Better as background noise

Not recommended if you have a working brain. But if you are one of those who "turn off" their brain to enjoy, you could like it.
If you don't like an insane amount of nonsense, incoherence and random stuff, but specially a scale of power that can change so dramatically that some weak character can beat one of the strongest without any previous explanation. Also the intentions of the characters change a lot without much sense, so, avoid this.
The mix between humor and "serious" combination doesn't work properly.
I don't mind art or music, so i judged this for its plot, which is horrendous, the premise was ... good and refreshing, but the execution was horrible and full on nonsense.
