The Terminator is seen using guns multiple times and picks them up many times throughout the show like when he uses the police's guns against them, the reason he isn't initially using a firearm in the police station is not to draw attention. Firearms are illegal and hard to acquire in japan which is why he makes the first weapons that he can. If you had watched the show you'd see his first attempt was without weapons and just his body, but after realizing that wasn't enough he becomes resourceful.
Reika bonds with the cat but she also sees that the cat was taken over by the terminator and used to track her which puts her, her siblings and Misaki in danger, so of course she would forget about the cat that almost got everyone she loves killed.
Misakis robot reveal is supposed to be obvious they hint at it in the very first scene that she appears, her reveal as the original free willed robot is the one you don't see coming, but I assume you missed that which is why you didn't mention it.
The kids have "plot armor" because his entire goal is to use them to force Malcolm to take Kokoro offline, he doesn't kill Kenta because he knows that definitely will not result in Malcolm offlining Kokoro as that would be getting rid of his leverage.
Kenta does not undermine Skynet, the terminator knows that if he can persuade Kenta (he chooses Kenta as he has shown to not trust the robots time and time again) to hit the EMP, he knows Kokoro won't stop him as she decided she wanted to be the best of her kind, displaying her free will as Malcolm made her to be.
Malcolm never wants to sleep with a robot, he states that from the start the most important part of ending the never-ending war is being equal and thats what he did in making Misaki and the reason he ends up killing those who were his comrades, she was a robot coded with free will not "if-then statements". He travels back in time to recreate Misaki and give robots true free will and to show them the beauty of humanity alongside the ugly, but the ugly of robotics and how they prove to be no better as Systemnet shows.
His wife's death gives reason for the children's connection to Misaki, to show grief and pain from Malcolm, to show the perfect imperfections of his plan. He calls her death bad luck, showing how horrible life can be but finding reason in life is what makes it worth living even though it was bad luck and could have happened to anyone.
Malcolm "wastes" time for Kokoro because he wants her to make decisions, he wants humans and AI to be on equal ground, rushing things would force a decision she could not have made herself, he doesn't give her reasons he shows her humanity and he shows her humans and robots on equal footing. The entire point of the show is free will, the reason he went back to the past, and the only reason it would be possible for humans and AI to coexist, as Kokoro states Systemnets flaw is that it is human-made, not made like a human.
In conclusion, it seems like you weren't paying attention at all to the show while it was playing in the background and you missed basically every major plot point and scene causing a complete misunderstanding of every character in the show. Reading your review made it so clear to me you just were not paying attention, I understand not liking this show or everything about it but it was so impressive just how much very obvious things you missed.
