What is the name of that black Layout anime? The one with a White Hair character.

Hey 😊
Valerio_Lyndon Dec 26, 2018 2:03 AM
Alrighty, here's my thoughts on it. Hope it helps.

I hope it doesn't come across too harsh, but I don't want to overly filter my feedback either. I will admit some of the first-time confusion may have been alleviated was I not an English-only scrub. :)

Wish the best on the website, hope it gets attention and a good following. :D And remember, I'm not a professional ;)

Oh that's really good of you guys then! That's fantastic if you're the first and they aren't familiar with that kinda content. I definitely take that kind of content for granted now.

How did you get involved with the blog? The idea just came to you? Also I can promote it in a future mass message in my group if you want.

Unfortunately a lot of it isn't readable - something other than English - so I can't really give a decent impression about how useable it would be. Thats an important part. Translator makes it seem ok tho. I saw some very long articles, so someone would have to really like the material. Personally, I like shorter articles and interesting news that would open me up to something new rather than the majority of anime blog content which is all the same. imo the new anime itself is interesting enough to watch but not interesting enough to read articles about it, the culture around it is.

And it doesn't look bad, which is something you do not want, and it looks useable and professional which is good. Good job! Tho I think content is most important. Knowing and learning to have stuff your audience wants. If you're making stuff they say they like, that's great! And having ratings helps to track that :D

Thanks alot! Happy holidays to you too!

Glad you think my skills are getting better. :3 Although I haven't been able to showcase them with any new projects this year, hopefully in 2019 eh.

Oo, exciting! Happy to hear you're finding new projects to work on. ^^ How much feedback do you want? I notice some things from taking a glance at the webpage which I could give feedback on, I just don't want to tear into it if all you want is a thumbs up/thumbs down. :)

I'm also working on a video with the shelter layouts, I'll be sure to include your username you in the start of the video!

Oh I just realized something. People have trouble changing pics on layouts, missing a character or deleting a parenthesis or something. Simple stuff but whatever we all made that mistake.

However, they NEVER have trouble changing the copyright section and removing the artist name or putting some snarky remark in 🙃 a lot of people seem to be fucking pros at that even when they mess up other stuff 😑 I've seen it for YEARS hahaha

Thanks! I made a topic for the layout! I called it "Brilliant" layout for now.
Shishio-kun Oct 31, 2018 10:23 PM
Anyway we can get this back please? I wanted to restore and maintain this

I just need whatever the dropbox used to link to
Shishio-kun Oct 27, 2018 2:24 PM
Did you used to use Taiga? Maybe is this a legit fix?

Yeah, no problem, I'll try to keep you updated!

Also I would like to fix up the threads you posted in creative corner with fixed versions of the layouts, if I give you edited versions of those posts, can you replace them please? I fixed up the posts in my own group with the updated codes and those layouts were working fine again.

What they've said recently is there working on some new terms of service and will start development on a new API soon. Which is kinda good because it means they aren't getting rid of it completely. But I also wonder if the terms of service will be a gate to stop people from using cover generators or other tools they don't like.

For lists, API isn't really needed at the moment for covers (but would be nice for more options) since we have the malscraper to generate covers.

Good suggestion! I have a lot of shower thoughts too lol

I actually have sent them reasons why we need @import and how invaluable it is to high level design. I should do another one tho later, I think I'll gather up some "signatures" from users.

Unfortunately they are undecided if they will take it away for good or not tho. I think the staff including Xinil care. And they may also give us a way to host big pics and fonts without import. However I am doubtful of that, seems hard to do, plus we need @import for other things anyways. But one kinda good thing is they let us at least view our own imports, which is not as bad as things could be. So we're in a bad but not completely bleak situation. Someone out there (besides us) cares!

btw did you know they shut down customizing of the MAL Top bar's basic selectors a long time ago on classic layouts? Some other selectors were blacklisted too. Guess they didn't want that or saw security risks. But we quickly overrode that with the same trick I'm using now actually. No one really noticed cuz we were always using the hack, the previous CSS community didn't customized top bar at all afaik

I'm hoping import will be a similar situation: if they want to remove @import for some non-existent security risk, fine for them, but then the rest of us will use our little trick to use it anyways since we're not using it for harm. That's not so bad (I guess) and they get their little security thing. The better situation would be they leave everything alone tho lol. The worst situation would be to shut down CSS altogether O_O but that doesn't seem to be on their mind atm (maybe a few years from now however, based on direction of the internet).
