Impressions: Begins with pure cuteness overload, and as it goes on the character growth is great. I didn't expect it with how I thought this would be more like K-On!! in the slice of life aspects. There were consequences for actions and the character building mattered - my biggest issue is that it felt as if it started lacking... something once the summer arc began that it only regained in the final episode. 8/10. Impressions: Princess Tutu is a ballet in itself throughout. Following the structure of a tragedy having the light and dark acts both, it paints a picture of angst. And by that I mean it's a bit too sad for me to have been watching as much as I had of it a day. The story could have ended with the first cour in my opinion, but I'm happy with the story of the second cour going in the direction I thought the first cour would for the most part. Still annoyed it's hard to determine Mytho's personality for a good most of it and wish his change between not having a heart and as he regained one it would be a bit more dramatic to show the changes. 9/10 Mytho feels more like a plot device than a character until it was a bit too late. Impressions: Humour reminds me a lot of Gintama, and the art conveys the reactions very well. Has some great setups and pay-offs. Embodies Sunrise comedies pretty well for sure. 8/10 came for the Sugita stayed for the Gundam reference. Impressions: Adorable CGDCT anime, definitely made better since the children feel like children most of the time. Renge is especially adorable. Great humour and set up, just like with Nichijou above. 8/10. Impressions: Colourful and pretty, focusing on the main friendship between Cocona and Papika I think was the right choice. Letting their love for each other shine through and having great chemistry was for the best. The design of the series is absolutely up my wheelhouse with how vibrant and unique each world was, and how it can show off the amazing inhabitants of each. Addicting ED. Really nice action sequences too. Only wish the antagonist was bought in a little earlier and was a little less repetitive on some story beats, but apart from that 9/10. |
