Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru

There is a popular saying: "you can never be too careful." It is very important to prepare for every situation you may face, even if it seems like an unnecessary waste of time. Also, in games like RPGs, it is good to exceed the level of your enemies to achieve total victory.

These words describe Seiya Ryuuguuin a little too perfectly. After being summoned by the goddess Ristarte to save the world of Gaeabrande from destruction, the hero prepares himself for his noble journey. While this might be normal, he spends a very long time training himself, despite having overpowered stats. He fights weak enemies using his strongest skills and buys excessive amounts of supplies and potions—all to stay safe.

While his attitude may be a bit annoying, it might just be the saving grace of Gaeabrande, especially considering that it is a world where the forces of evil dominate each and every expectation.

Came for Umehara Yuuichirou (voices Seiya), stayed for Toyosaki Aki (voices Rista)

No, really! if I were not a blind fan of Umehara, I'd have totally skipped this awesome anime - in fact, it's only because i was searching for Umehara voiced MCs did "Cautious Hero" even end up in my lap.
And I'm so happy & glad that I got to watch it! It's super! As much as I enjoyed Umehara's voice acting, I have to say that it's Rista (Toyosaki) that took the cake & hit home-run for this anime - her character and the dynamic voice acting absolutely stole me! The characters really ... make this anime worth it and enjoyable.
as far as story goes - enjoyable too! i liked it and overall, viewers will have a great time watching "Cautious Hero" is my opinion. I know I absolutely ate it up! it was delicious :P
As far as OP Hero characters go - i think Seiya is one of the few best ones created - he really embodies the OP-ness of an isekai-ed hero as well as the cautionary that is essential should you want to survive & win quests. I thought it was really well done and would love to see more of this Hero Character in anime more.

Honestly, if this doesn't get a S2, I'm ok because the ending was nice & I can live with that. But I can always wish and hope for a revival right? ^_^

Mixed Feelings

Right, so cautious hero! This is not an anime to be taken seriously, after watching so many longer anime that require attention to follow, this was an enjoyed break in between. I found myself with snacks binging the first 6 episodes, and stopped half way through to realise even though this is not the greatest anime in the world I’m actually enjoying it.

I enjoyed the quick pace of the story, the introduction of many different characters and the humour. I actually chuckled a few times.

I feel cautious hero could be better in many different areas especially the world building. Why are hero’s given game like ... stats? Why do the citizens of the world have game like stats? Why are there demon lords in every world? Is there always a sword and armour in every world to take down the demon lord? If so how and why? Where are these demon Lords coming from? What’s the story behind the realm of gods trying to save these worlds?

I think that there are many questions that need to be answered and a lot of things that would be great if there was a little more explanation behind them. Maybe s2 will clear some of these up, and maybe I’m looking a little to deep into an anime which isn’t meant to be taken seriously and is just there for a bit of fun and enjoyment.

Also I wasn’t the biggest fan of the sexual humour or when the art style changed to express a comedic emotion.

Over all the anime doesn’t have anything in it that we haven’t seen before and there’s nothing in it that’s going to blow your mind, it’s a unique (concept wise) fun little watch that I enjoyed so it gets a 7, I will be watching s2! Peace

Thanks, I hate it.

Humor is subjective and to me this one didn't go far enough in any direction to even qualify for the comedy tag.

Here is the premise:-

Japanese teens are always Isekaied so why break tradition, a goddess summons one to be this world's savior in a very Konosuba like fashion. Dude is OP and he just makes up the rules of this world as he goes to maintain OP status. The end.

And this is why this show doesn't work.

Wants to be a parody like Konosuba BUT blows through the tropes due to OP status instead of actually doing something clever or unexpected. ... So not a parody so much as a power fantasy.

Wants to be a comedy and tries to make the goddess the butt of the joke same as Konosuba BUT it's the "hero" degrading her over and over all while using her & actually hitting her. This is not funny, it's just abusive and the only one looking bad here is the hero.

Wants to cash in on the Isekai genre while being a pick me, aka "I'm not like other Isekais"... no, you're worse because others at least put the fun parts on screen. Generic as it might be other shows have world building, character arcs and plots. This one has all the good parts OFF SCREEN. Because heaven forbids we actually see those. It's just bad writing 101.

One other problem with the show is stakes. It wants to be a comedy while having the same stakes as a drama, down to that teen angst of an ending that every emo kid dreams about when they're 14. You can't have it both ways, the drama dampens the mood of a comedy while the comedy makes it so I can't take the drama seriously.

At first I was going with just bad, as in a 4 and maybe mixed feelings since humor is subjective. After that horrendous ending though it's down a point. It really came off as if it was written by a teenager during their emo phase, one that failed his writing class at that!
