THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Episode preaired/screened today.

They kinda went overboard with some of the facial expressions for the first episode. Oh most parts, it has a weird humor between Listarte and Seiya. I wouldn't take this anime seriously but Seiya does have some power in that sword of his.

Listarte is a goddess and the lead guy is named Seiya! I wonder if the writer was inspired by "St. Seiya" because of the Seiya name!

The source LN author mentions in their afterwords that Seiya represents the class of RPG players who take the max-out grinding approach to gameplay (ie. those who max out their stats as much as possible before doing game quests).

Also, Seiya's personality and Lista as the POV main character appears to be a parody of isekai story-writing conventions; where the summoned hero MC is usually described as an average-looking and average-built nice guy (the better for reader self-insert) and the summoning goddess as the enigmatic divine entity who may have a longer game in mind.

Those new isekai shows are getting more and more self aware with every new season. Don't see this as a long watch for me.

Technically it's the newer isekai webnovels, which these shows are usually based upon.

Playing with genre awareness is the in thing with some writers.

so far it looks like another generic isekai with a "twist", but i guess i'll still end up watching it all the way like the isekai trash i am. LOL
oh i did like Listarte's VA though, especially when she lusts after the mc

Kinda fun episode but like kemono michi, could end up being pretty repetitive.

Oh sixpack! Sexy!

Kinda like it when females are perverted like Listarte, it's pretty funny. Her other reactions, like that with the long nose are quite nice too xD I also like the MC. They make a hilarious duo. Last shot was especially epic.

And damn, Chaos Machina is seriously THICC.
Kokoro did nothing wrong.

Directing is... wasted on an "another world" narrative, but better here than in slice-of-life. What am I even saying.
Either way, it seems to be exactly what I prophesied - a level-headed comedy that makes as much fun of its own genre as it has original humour. I might be willing to watch it although with the number of other quality series airing this season...I might not need cheap entertainment after all. Sorrey.

I believe these two are different genre, and of different quality - here we have taste, there we have... something. Remains to be seen of course, but I will not be wasting time on something like "Kemono michi" even if only to criticize it like a... bad art.

Now this is a true troll anime

Again, could end up being repetitive over time similar to Kemono Michi but so far very amusing

I enjoyed that quite a lot. It was a lot of fun and looked solid. The best part was definitely Aki Toyosaki's performance. It was just great.
I hope the show is able to maintain it's "fun" factor

Well, fuck me. I expected something new, but not that new.

Obviously it's typical isekai parody in some ways, but other than that I guess it's just gonna focus on absurd comedy and interaction between characters.

Also quite delighted how many different "faces" a voice actress can do accurately and outstandingly. That said I can not remember male voice actors doing anything but low pitch/high pitch and simply different voices for different characters, if there is a need. Females are surely giving their all inside the male-dominated industry.
Her performance is definitely the highlight of this comedy-series, do not know how classy it was on paper... But being animated by skillful people (a myriad of creatively done frames and transitions is my evidence) and voiced by someone just as skillful surely boosts the appeal of a well-concepted comedy.

I am glad that Funimation picked this up but any guesses as to why they have not announced the streaming date or time yet?

Just found out that it streams 10:30 AM Eastern Time on Wed.

I was expecting some utter garbage having dropped the manga on first chapter months ago, but it was a lot better than I think.

I particularly liked the goddess' facial expressions.

It's currently 5/10 for me but it can go higher or lower depending on whether the parody will get tired or if it's clever enough to surprise us.

Lmao I just saw glimpse of Aqua on Lista thou I don't thnk she will be useless. Seiya is pretty brutal with his words and I thnk I'm gonna like this guy and proly gonna enjoy this series too. Thou I hope his over cautiousness don't become annoying later on.

Fanservice for everyone, this is the law of equivalent exchange!!

FR though, parody isekai is just the best, this is my kind of comedy. (cough nice 4th wall breaking from Ristarte) I like both Ristarte and Seiya already too, their dynamic is hilarious, and their VA's are doing a great job! The first episode has me already hooked, hopefully this is gonna be good.

hmm that was kinda...underwhelming, I awaited a second konosuba here in terms of comedy potential and references but so far it fails at that. Listarte is the best so far tho, her facial expressions and way to talk is hilarious, Aki Toyosaki does an awesome job here. But yea I also see the cautious jokes getting repetitive very fast, I will give it three episodes

Only episode 1 but I guess this is the only redeeming isekai from last three seasons with proper humour. I guess I will watch this one.

Hard to believe whitefox pick this up.
Usually white fox always pick serious plot LN with drama, tragic or sad.

Hmmmm I really wonder what are they thinking ?

Experimenting with fantasy comedy??????

I like seiya tho, it's really rare to see mc that ignore girls or thot slayers.

That was fun to watch. Damn those lista faces after she sees hot seiya. Seiya is an ultimate thot slayer. I have high hopes for this anime.
“The sound of the Gion Shoja temple bells echoes the impermanence of all things;
The color of the sala flowers reveals the truth that to flourish is to fall.
The proud do not endure, like a passing dream on a night in spring;
The mighty fall at last, to be no more than dust before the wind.”

Not as funny as I expected, and the MC being skeptic of everything is getting old really quick. Seeing as this is the whole premise I don't think I'll be able to keep watching much further.

This is everything I was expecting plus some.
I'm surprised how well done the animation is for what appears to be a popcorn anime. Perhaps because they went for a more stylized look? Characters and backgrounds blend well together and seem above par. Lovely special effects. Of course, I don't expect much from the story, but that's not why you watch a popcorn anime.

I couldn't stop laughing at the dialogue of the main character I enjoy the fact he's more realistic than most of the isekai protagonist we get these days lol

Having read the manga up until now, I was expecting to really like it, but something feels really off seeing this in an anime format. The jokes just aren't landing for me. I can't really explain it other than it seems less self-aware and even more ridiculous in how it's laid out.

I know where it's going from here, so I'm wanting to at least catch up to the manga, but I'm wondering if I can pull it off. Hopefully the jokes land next time.

Good humour in this episode so far. The episode itself was ridiculous.

Seiya is not your typical isekai MC.

ngl I only came into this show since Aki and Yumehara were the lead VA's, but I was pleasantly surprised, this was actually pretty funny, especially that battle against the slime. Myth and Roid OP was pretty lit, idk why but lately they've been including a lot of those like thug style parts in their songs (same thing with isekai cheat magician OP)

Art/Animation was kinda ok though, loved the faces used but stuff like background was pretty bland

I do hope the show doesn't get too repetitive because it has the potential to be a real gem

Myth&Roid is such a huge hit or miss these days. Anyways, fun start. Don't remember too much of it but do remember reading a bit of it a ways back. The faces are more than I expected but hilarious nonetheless.

Rista's thirst sure is wild, even the mini goddess had a nosebleed lmao.

I thought Rista's boobs were already big enough but Ariadoa definitely proved me wrong.

Not to mention the thicc demon girl at the end, thank you Lord for that thiccness!

Hilarious start, I love the Goddess and the dynamic with Seiya is great.

That goddess is annoying as hell and kind of damages the comedy to me, I'll keep watching in hopes that she'll be put on the backburner but if she sticks around and comments on everything... it will get old real fast.

the character animation, especially the goddess', really reminded me of some trigger kind of animation. this balance between conventional and blobby style is really nice.

really hope this isn't a one episode thing. usually white fox's production level is good

A self-aware 異世界 story that's told from the perspective of the summoner, not the summonee (or at least that's how it starts out). Despite the title, the show is not very 慎重 at all, in fact it is the exact opposite: a pure comedy. Most of the humor revolves around the summoned hero being too serious and the summoner's ツッコミ. I just got done watching 旗揚!けものみち and thought it would be a decent 異世界 comedy this season, but this show makes it look like trash in comparison. This show is actually hilarious and a lot of fun to watch and the world is much more of the fantasy style that I enjoy: bright, colorful and fun. Looking forward to the next episode!
Stream of conscious ramblings.
