Also is there a limit to how many 10's one should give out ? I'm not mad at it. It's refreshing as opposed to the people i've been on about that rate everything low. I'm going to be completely honest here when i see someone that serially scores things unreasonably i just cut them from my friends list. Based on the quantity of things you've seen, I'd say your ratings are more than fair and reasonable. 5.57 might be low if you ONLY watched the top 100 or 200 TV series on MAL, but when you mix in literally multiple thousands of shorts, etc, i mean of course your mean is going to be lower and ofc that's going to be justified.

For our mutual shows we share 4,419 entries - your mean for those is 5.7 and mine is 5.4 with a standard deviation of 1.07. So yeah I'd say that's more than appropriate tbh.

As for "mid" or "meh" for me that's a score of 6. Maybe I'm too American, but 6/10 has always just meant like, ya "you pass" but you're not anything "good". So I've been pretty happy with my system there. But I do always provide serious quality control. I actually have a running spreadsheet of every anime I've ever seen ranked in order of best to worst, so it really helps in terms of being able to rate and rank series and make sure that my ratings evolve with time. I probably could go through another QC myself, because my 6s and 7s are pretty clogged lol. But i also think that makes the most sense. Since i tend to try to pick out the 20-25 best shows per season it makes sense that very rarely am i going to have the lower scores in the same quantity as 6+. IF i did every single solitary show, then yeah my mean for full length TV series would probably be closer to 6, or below 6, than 6.60.

And hey i'm proud of you <3. LOL what's wobble hands mean D:. But yah i'm glad you rate LoGH. I gave it a 10 too, and that's score I rarely give. It is a dense series, a lot of dialogue, a lot of different political ideologies and philosophies, a lot of moving parts, but truly a rewarding story, and i love how every character- even those I hated (Oberstein, Trunicht, etc) had their own motives, goals, and ideals and ways of accomplishing them. But yeah i understand that. As long as the dialogue contributes greatly to the world building (LoGH) or character chemistry like katanagatari or the other NISSIO ISSIN series (Monogatari) then i really don't mind it.

Yeah I'm the last defender of SAO online :( but i wear that badge proudly :).

I tend to watch S;G every few years, but I've only done S;G 0 once, so yeah i could probably be due for another S;G rewatch too.

And I think you've been making great progress, especially since you've said you've been busy and stuff, you're approaching the final climax soon. <3

Yeah I really try my best, but uhhhh, as SAO's #1 most public defender on the internet, I mean I've been at "war" with elitists for like over a decade now, so yeah the hatred I have for them runs really deep. And because of that for some shows it's been hard for me to begin them with an objective mind.

But yeah it looks like you're cooking LoGH , which, I don't blame you, to me the entre series is always a masterpiece but the 2nd half like I didn't want to stop watching lol.

yeah 100%. I just always try to be objective and watch anime in the right mindset, and the core fanbase of shows like LoGH (elitists who hate on every popular title) made it really difficult for a long time. Like I have Code Geass in my top 10 all time, and I know the 2 get a lot of comparisons, so i didn't want to watch LoGH the way the elitists will watch something like Oshi no Ko and just be like "ok i'm going to go into this and prove why Code Geass is better, etc" I also tend to have an affinity for modern animation, coupled with its length, is why yeah i didn't start getting to it until recently. But yeah I'm glad i did. Steins;Gate had been my #1 all time anime pretty much since I had seen it in 2012, I never really expected it to be eclipsed, but that shows how strong LoGH is.

Yeah I never got the feeling LoGH dragged at all, and well, to me the ending is perfect. So yeah if i don't hear from you before you finish let me know your final thoughts :)

hahaha yeah understandable. I finished it too just recently, and I'm mad because I'm like the most anti-elitist person ever, and it's still my #2 anime series of all time. ;;


But yeah i love the depth of the world building, how all the characters are so well fleshed out with their own ambitions, motivations, goals, desires, ideologies and philosophies. Very introspective show.


I'm glad you're enjoying it though! If you're loving it so far, my guess is that will sustain through the end. I remember people telling me it "only gets better" and i was like "how is that possible?" D: but yeah it's a really sharp show.
