Fumetsu no Anata e

An Orb, known only as It, is cast to Earth to be observed from afar. Capable of changing forms from beings whose reflections It captures, It first becomes a rock and then, due to the rising temperature, moss.

It does not move until one snowy day, a wolf at death's door barely crosses by. When It takes the animal's form, It attains awareness of its consciousness and starts to wander with an unclear destination in mind. Soon, It comes across the wolf's master—a young boy waiting for his tribe to return from a paradise abundant with fish and fruit in the south. Although the boy is lonely, he still hopes those whom he holds dear in his memories have not forgotten him and that he will reunite with them one day.

The boy wants to explore new surroundings and decides to abandon his home with It to find the paradise using the traces his tribe left behind. However, with a heavily injured body and no sight of his elder comrades, what will become of the boy?

Fumetsu no Anata e illustrates the story of an immortal being experiencing humanity, meeting all types of people in many places throughout time.

"To Your Eternity"s first episode is one of, if not THE best first episodes I've seen in any show. While a bit slow, it's captivating and beautifully devastating.

This anime is fantastic, it checks all the boxes. There's great plot, cool fighting, death, an enjoyable, interesting mc and plenty of lovable side characters. It knocks it out of the park! 10/10ths! ... at least for the majority. How this anime drops off in the latter half of even the first season is so, so sad. It gets a bit repetitive and relatively predictable. Not bad, just not nearly as good.

This show would've gotten a ten ... if the entirety was as incredible as the first episode, or even first few episodes!

Despite this, it's still a very good watch, and deserves all the love and attention.

(Overall, the majority of the first season gets a 10, whilst the rest is closer to a 7 or 8; hense why I've decided to settle at a 9.)

Mixed Feelings

As others have said, the first few episodes are just, on an other level. Above all, the first episode, which is probably one of the most emotionally charged that I have ever seen, which is surprising given that the characters involved have just been introduced. Seriously, a masterpiece of an episode.

After a few archs, it falls flat. This anime had the potential to become a masterpiece, an intrincated story whith unforseen events and consequences, unpredictable due to its nature, but instead it becomes a drama, centered around the backstories of other people and losing it's touch.

I would have loved that the first episode had some ... real follow-up, but instead it is forgotten along the series even though it is so esencial for the story to exist.

Even though I had a great time watching it, I was growing more and more disappointed watching how the (for me) best character was just forgotten and the series was becoming flat.

This anime is probably the biggest fall-off I have ever seen.

The first few episodes were genuinely some of the most interesting beginnings of a show. The concept and story was very unique and fantastic to watch. An honest 10/10 show from the get-go. Then it fell off. Fell off hard. It managed to go from a 10/10 to a low 4/10 by the end. The story branched off into weird stuff and no longer had what made it so good. It became a boring show with predictable scenes, eye-rolling annoying characters, and bad/lame stories.

Highly disappointing show and very frustrating to see what could've been a ... masterpiece fall off so hard.
I would not recommend wasting your time watching this show except for the first few episodes.
