Fumetsu no Anata e

Both main characters we follow as they grow into a cognitive character, and as they develop emotions and bonds. Also ties in with the supernatural, and the hardships of side characters met along the way. 

These fantasy stories revolve around beings who exist beyond human comprehension and co-exist with humans spanning many lifetimes. They wander the world learning the fragility of time; as well as discovering the mortality of their lives and others. They'll meet & leave behind people whom they shared important bonds with throughout their lifetimes, gradually learning about the beauty & plight of humanity. If you like emotionally-driven storylines with a bit of Iyashikei elements; you'll enjoy these shows. 

If you enjoyed the drama in violet's story u might also enjoy the well-written story of the immortal creature. 

Overall very similar feeling. Emotional, thoughtful, and heartwarming feeling. There's a Mushi creature that's important to the story. They both travel and encounter different people and stories. 

From that distant faraway paradise; to the land of the unforgiving realities of the broader world; humankind continues to shape the world through indiscriminate power struggles and the need to maintain supremacy over others. That said, make no mistake that the power of love is the driving force behind the motivations of Maquia's and Fushi’s actions as they face the realities of the lives of others and their fleeting, finite life. Whilst they themselves continue to simply live on evermore. Both stories are an illustration of that aspect of fleeting life and the curse of an everlasting existence. They will face tribulations, challenges and learning the beauty of humanity through familial ties. read more 

Both Made in Abyss and To your eternity are great unique stories unique/interesting characters, full of surprises and also tragedies To your eternity is the saddest one but after watching season 2 you'll understand that its not always the happy part of the stories its all about how you understand that attachment leads to suffering people come and go To your Eternity is also somewhat similar to Maquia when the promise never bloom  

In both of the animes, the main characters' dream is to travel around the world in order to learn about their culture and meeting new people. They both leave their nest and goes on a long journey with no end 

Both are broody and have moments of somberness to them as well as both having fantasy elements in them and also stylish visuals and art to look at as well too. 

Both follow the life of a young boy(ish) who has supernatural abilities and how he makes friends along the way. He has to grapple with being different and having to protect the ones he loves. 

Both shows are about the journey, both literally and mentally, for their main characters to understand their world and themselves better. Despite the different setting, the emotions which both works evoke is simillar, and the topic of life and death, as well as how you're spending your time between these two undeniable facts is the main focus of the stories, albeit somewhat concealed. 

both are supernatural themed stories and both have a somber more mature feel to its nature as well too and lots of philosophy as well. 

both are emotionally driven downbeat sad stories that also have a white hair lead in it as well too and also a focus on supernatural storytelling as well too. 

From the snow covering the first scene in Fumetsu to the wolf .. it immediately hit me with Wolf's Rain feel. and as the show progresses, I can't help but feel that both of them relate to the same genre or somber adventures into an unknown world with a vague goal. the stories may have not much beyond those two aspect in common, but the overall vibe and feels just scream related. if you finish one and want to stay in the same headspace for something else, try the other.  

both are about protagonists traveling the world, exploring different cultures and civilizations. they both have a philosophical feel to them and deal a lot in human nature and the nature of existence. 

Both feature an immortal protagonist that loses their memories when they lose a part of themselves, have an immense worldbuilding and... tearjerking, lots of it. 

Both series have ethnic themes. To your eternity is more dramatic than the other but the similarity between them is that the two male leads are just unconquerable. 

"Fumetsu no Anata e" is recommended for its unique and emotionally impactful storytelling, making it a standout anime that appeals to those who enjoy thought-provoking narratives with deep character development and philosophical themes. 

I'll be writing this recommendation based on the underlying themes that these shows both represent. Both explore the concept of learning and experiencing the plight of humanity and the lives of the people in various difficult circumstances the world has to offer. Human connections get tested and the weight of life and death echoes deeply for the main characters throughout their travels. They both also explore the nature of humanity in the cathartic journey to find their subjective form of "paradise" and freedom. In their journey through life, they will suffer; yet they continue to live, carrying the will of their predecessors that have taught them the value of living as well as carrying their hopes; Whilst facing many dangers, they will be hunted by enemies that wish for the destruction of humanity and will struggle to protect everyone they love. Fushi and Vash will have to face many tribulations such as Death, Survivor's remorse, Morality and Inner Turmoil in finding the way to save everyone; despite the possibility of them unintentionally causing collateral death of those around them; which in turn, must force themselves to live an everlasting non-sedentary journey. Both musical scores masterfully adds emphasis into significant moments in the stories; allowing them to truly shine and create emotional impact to the point of spiritual catharsism. There is also a correlation that both the protagonists are otherworldly organisms(...?) that transcends normal humanity. *I will progressively add to the recommendation as there are more elements that are at this point of time are spoilers. read more 

Both are highly philosophical tragedies that feature an immortal being who witnesses the changing eras of humanity, recommended if you like an adventure that goes beyond time. 

At the beginning both of the main characters have nothing, and by spending time and meeting new characters and discovering new things they get better.  

Both these series explore heavy themes surrounding death and how immortal main characters can comprehend seeing their supporting characters die. They also face insurmountable odds against threats mere humans cannot accomplish without the help of their abilities to remain immortal. Each new challenge and person they meet leads to growth and change in their personalities as they learn more about the people in their world. They're technically also both Isekai'd into their respective supernatural worlds along with their supernatural abilities. In Re Zero the main character comes from Earth while in Fumetsu the being is from some higher order realm (Gods?). The only difference between these abilities is in Re Zero the user can time travel into the past before they die while in Fumetsu the user stays in the present by infinitely healing despite taking many fatal injuries. Yet these have limits malicious characters taking advantage of which halts their progress. read more 

Both are of similar length and contain a similar adventurous aesthetic. I thoroughly enjoyed both and if u liked one of these I highly suggest the other. 

Especially going forward in the Manga of fumetsu no anata e, there is a similar fantasy vibe. Great worldbuilding, and a similar pastural feel at times. I feel like the two could take place in a similar universe. They also have similar themes of death. Gedo Seki has a bad reputation since it did not do a good job adapting to the source material, but as a standalone film it is quite magical.  

Essentially Immortal white-haired protagonist who gets good character development over the series, both are fantasy with great character writing.

Both of two stories characters developed in the similar way. Both of them are naive in their world and try to learn new things -Similar atmosphere -Similar art -Beautiful work of music -Both manifests happiness beside bitterness of life 

Main Characters that are only human in appearance attempt to understand what exactly it means to be human by observing both the imperfections and redeeming qualities of others. 

Both of these are about immortal characters who are up against some sort of supreme evil. 

no. 6 is very realistic whereas to your eternity dabbles in a bit of magic and the unknown, but both give off a familiar vibe 

Not only because they are by the same author (the manga), but also because of their drama and meaning. Both anime want to say something and their are beautiful. Tears guaranteed. 

Both have a supernatural element to a world based on our own Similar drama elements, very emotional Interesting cast of characters Slice of life elements sprinkled in between 

Both stories give off the same feeling of a grand fantasy adventure in a new world that's just waiting to be explored by the main characters. The vibe is similar for both especially when it came to the ost of both and the themes of both of the anime go much deeper than just the fact that they are "adventure stories". They both do a very good job in using the fantasy adventure element to expand on what the true meaning of life is and really affect the emotions that people feel while watch these 2 anime. Although on the outside the two shows appear nothing alike, i feel they compliment each other in more ways than one. Both stories are about an immortal being that emotionally grow, Fushi and Yato experience what it is like to truly appreciate what what can so easily be taken from you. 'Noragami' has a rather light hearted approach as some could argue and Yato, the main protagonist is quite playful himself. Given his past, the anime makes it obvious he grew tremendously. Every character taught him a valuable lesson and you eventually get to see how everyone impacts his feelings and decisions. Fushi from 'To Your Eternity' not having a past at all, learns valuable things from each acquaintance and not only advances on a skill level, but how he perceives love, pain, and anger.  read more 

Stunning animation, complex/long spanning timeline, wonderful and a wide cast of characters. These anime may seem different on the surface but they're both tear-jerking, beautiful, multi-season stories following a heart-broken main character trying to avenge their loved ones. 

Innocent and caring main character with a hidden power that can make him the strongest in the world. You watch as the character grow, its also very emotional and gets you in the feels. 

It’s hard to describe how they are similar to each other, but you can recognize the similarity between their symbols and themes and motifs, for example they have a unique style, the calm world with beautiful nature, the unique supernatural powers, the philosophy behind the their worlds, and many other things. 

Another show about an "immortal" meeting people and learning great life lessons. They both have a wide cast of characters that grow and learn as the main character does. The main characters both share that they have great power and later learn their responsibility with it. Although,12 Kingdoms is more about running a kingdom & the people within it.  

This anime is about a genius duo that are terrorists. Through their experiences, we see different ideals and flaws of humanity. There are a bunch of metaphors as well. 

The first few episodes are really confusing; however, it displays the faults of humanity through different lenses. Unlike with Fumetsu no Anata e, 86 is told through 2 POVs–the inside and the outside. On the other hand, Fumetsu no Anata e showcases human habits and goals through each character that Fushi meets. 

Both feature protagonists who start as primitive entities and acquire new skills and forms from their environment. 

Both feature protagonists able to absorb skills and abilities that start as a primitive organism. 

The afterglow of life and death and what is left entrusted to those who still live are the running themes both these show represents. They feature characters that unravel their own life's value and regrets that they might have left behind; and how it affects the lives surrounding them. Most of the stories told are poetic and painfully beautiful even within the darkest moments of their lives. At the precipice of life's end; the afterimage of passing on and ascension to the afterlife is portrayed beautifully on both shows. 

They both are about the main character who travels the world from city to city, place to place, in order to see what the world is like outside of where they once belonged. They meet new people along the way and learn of their cultures and history. Both seems to be very interesting and have emotional stories to tell 

Yes, they are in a completely different world setting and time line but they are so well written with so much depth to them! The lessons taught in these two shows are very valuable and some moments are even relatable - one might see themselves in the characters. I won't deny that they are rather very sad shows but will definitely bring out many emotions in you!  

I think both anime are similar in the theme and the world around. The music, authentic and mysterious understanding of the fantasy world, mixed with fear and curiosity feeling of something greater, and a psychological storytelling. For the ones who like the theme of To Your Eternity, you should definitely watch Shinsekai Yori. 

Both animes have a similar setting (pseudo mediaeval) and wolves play a crucial role in both mediums. 

Eternal beings experiencing the ephemeral phenomenon of humans  

While on a surface level the only similarity between these two anime is that they both involve an immortal character surrounded by lots of death, I believe that on a deeper level they share much more in common. I see them both as "explorations of humanity," just in different ways. Hell Girl explores the dark side of humanity, present in both the cruelty we show each other and the grudges we hold. Fumetsu no Anata e doesn't just stick to one part of humanity but rather explores human nature and society as a whole, shown from the lens of a non-human outsider trying to learn about humanity and how to fit into society. Both shows do this by showcasing the stories of many different people. I believe these shows are very similar yet very different, like inverses of each other. They do the same sort of thing but in opposite ways. Fumetsu no Anata e involves an immortal being slowly finding and trying to preserve the beauty in life and humanity, and while the show does not shy away from showing the bad parts as well, it maintains a hopeful tone full of admiration for all life. Jigoku Shoujo, on the other hand, shows only the hatred and cruelty held deep inside our hearts, and feels very bleak, though there are some moments of finding the good within the bad.  read more 

Both MC have supernatural abilities which make them stands as an observer througout the story, as they learn about their purpose through the characters they meet and their stories. 

Fumetsu no Anata e and Somali to Mori no Kamisama have a lot in common, to mention the most important, an emotional story about a long journey. They're both stylish, and utilize visuals and sound in ways that leave a lasting impression. Both will make you cry. 

Both are emotionally driven stories focusing on the main characters relationship with others as well as both having teary eyed moments from time to time. 

Two very good adventure series with expansive worlds and interesting cultures. Magi: Labyrinth of Magic more closely resembles a traditional adventure series until war and conflict becomes the primary focus of the storyline. To Your Eternity is a slower-paced adventure where the main character travels to learn about living, but always encounter conflicts. Magi will easily capture your attention, but watchers of To Your Eternity are rewarded with an anime that has depth. 

A new entity comes to earth, for unknown reasons and they are trying to find out what their existence means. At first it only lived by following its natural instincts, but as the events unfolded, this new entity began to learn to use reason and logic. Although these two anime tell a different story premise. The approach taken by Fushi is more of a drama, while Parasyte is more of a horror-tragedy.
