Sword Wielding Otherworldly female main characters that are overly obsessed for their duty who eventually fall for a poor unsuspecting man who accidentally met them and feel a duty to protect the female cast. To make it even better, in both anime the main female characters have no clue how love should feel and are confused =P.

Both are have heavy shounen plot lines mixed with a variety of mythological allegories and a dash of romance. I personally find Shana to be the superior, especially in the romance an umour department, nut F/SN has better fights and mythological connections. Both are great shounens that are not to long, like some of the very popular ones, and are excellent choices if you want a lighter anime with fights and love.

In both, the boy's world is suddenly turned upside down upon meeting a supernatural being that almost had him killed but got saved by a girl, with magical powers, wielding a sword and great fighting skills. This marked the begining of a bizzare relationship.. Also you will find that the boy is also special that caused them to live in a world far from the ordinary

Both series start off featuring a male lead whose life is (mostly) normal, until that one moment where he ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time, which results in the addition of a female sword-wielding partner and a battle of life or death.  Also in both is a latent ability hidden within each of the male leads not fully exploited until the arrival of said partner, an ability that, when finally tapped, proves useful for overcoming the obstacles each side must face.

Magic, fighting, colourful art. They both have em and are great watches. Although Fate Stay Night gives off a more colder feel than Shakugan no Shana.

Both are about a high school guy with some magic inside them who has a magical girl with a big sword appear in his life, suddenly all sorts of magical monsters start attacking, and then they have to go into battles.

These two have same style, love and fantasy fighting theme. The female protagonist both starts off with "Cold Heart". Later, they start to learn what is "love".

The starting point of this two anime are pretty similar; a boy's life turned upside down after meeting a girl. The girl turned out to be some kind of a tool of war. Has only a destiny to fight. 

The boy on the other hand, is weak and desperate. But as he got to know the girl he met who changed his life, he wanted to be at least useful for her.

Both main character's battle strategy concept is kind of similar; the boy's are one who's ordering the moves for the girl.

Both plot is kind of similar too, in a way. Defeat the bad guys to keep the world save. read more

Fate Stay Night and Mirai Nikki both tells about Survival Game in which the contestants battle against each other to win the prize. They also features similar protagonists who were initially weak and pathetic, but grows as the series progresses. In FSN, Emiya Shirou is accompanied by Saber while in Mirai Nikki Yukiteru is accompanied by Gasai Yuno. Yuno and Saber are both powerful heroines able to surpass the heroes in combat.

Both animes began to unveil dark, hidden secrets as the story progresses.

The characters are forced to participate in a game where they must kill in order to be granted any one wish. There are no familiars, but the concept is similar. The main characters are both unwilling, but this anime is more horror though.

Fate/stay night and Mirai Nikki involve Emiya Shirou and Yukiteru Amano, respectively, being dragged into a survival game against their will. The games in both involve goin against a set of opponents with a certain objective. In Fate/stay night, the objective is to eliminate all the opposing servants of the other contestants. In Mirai Nikki, you must destroy all other future diaries owned by the contestants. If one were to win in Mirai Nikki, one would become god of their universe. If one were to win in Fate/stay night, one would receive the all powerful Holy Grail. Both main characters are portrayed to be weak and soft in their personalities. The two characters receive help from strong-willed, more experienced females--Tohsaka Rin in Fate/stay night, and Gasai Yuno in Mirai Nikki. Both shows can be lighthearted but can also become very dark. They were both very enjoyable to watch. read more

Similarities:
Both animes involve a winner-take-all game where the combatants have to fight one another to the death.
Both have a protagonist who is reluctant to fight unless absolutely necessary
Both have a female main character who is clearly more skilled than the protagonist (and is much more willing to play the game)
In both this female character assists the protagonist in trying to win the game
Both are quite dark and have a lot of bloodshed and deaths as the story progresses
Both have very good fight scenes and story exposition, as well as good character growth 

Differences:
Mirai Nikki uses cellphones as diaries to predict the future and the characters have to fight amongst themselves, whereas F/SN the characters summon servants to help them fight
Mirai Nikki the game is held to determine the next God of Space and Time, F/SN the game is held to determine a worthy recipient of the Holy Grail read more

Both shows have similar premises, main characters, and present a balanced mix of action & drama with a fair share of plot twists and dark undertones.  Also the main pairings presented are similar in many ways (though are both different enough to feel unique from each other as well).

However the biggest reason I have is, oddly enough, the main criticism people have for both shows ~ that they are said to have many inconsistencies and plot holes.  The underlying reason for each is different, but if you disagree/don't care about this being an issue in one, then the main reason people will tell you not to watch the other is null and void for you.  As such you are better suited to enjoy the other for the things it does well. read more

Both are very similar because of the "game" the characters are forced into : there's a war in the city, and the masters[fsn] / ashikabis[sekirei] fight with their servants[fsn] / sekireis for the title of strongest. 
Then again, lots of similarities if you pay attention: both main characters are worried about their woman and dont want to let em fight or cry about not being able to help them etc. Servants however are not all women with oversized boobs!  Fate stay night doesn't rely on the fan service, as it's a serious anime with a deep setting and storyline : less echi, more action, beautiful effects...

 I recommend it for those who liked the idea of a battle royale in the city! read more

In sekirei plot stories you will find out that it has similarity with fate stay night.The only differences is in Fate Stay Night master can only have 1 servant but in Sekirei the master can have as many servant they want and in sekirei you will find the female character have voluptuous  body and bouncing boobs(echi..)

Similar in the way that the female protagonist is the one engaging in most of the battles and they are accompanied by a weaker male role. Both guys fall for the girls and there is a heavy amount of action.

Saber is a lot like Clare. Both animes have action, a female main character which fights with a sword and protects a boy... and so on....

On the surface, Claymore and Fate/stay night share similar characters. Saber, the female lead of Fate/stay night, and Clare, the female lead of Claymore, share both attitude and fighting style. Saber and Clare act tough and speak formally, in a way, and they both use large swords to fight. They both can take plenty of damage. The male leads, Raki, from Claymore, and Shirou, from Fate/stay night, help take care of the female leads. They have more differences, but they're both supporting leads, in a sense.

For story, on the surface, they look completely different. Claymore has more violence and focuses around fighting monsters, while Fate/stay night focuses on winning a contest for the Holy Grail, so the fighters must fight each other. The more you dig into the story, however, the more alike they seem. For example, Claymore and Fate/stay night both share the same character development between the male and female leads, and it also shares the growth of the male lead through the series.

The feel of each series is different. Claymore comes across as far more violent, with richly colored blood, while Fate/stay night comes across as more dramatic violence, with less blood and more character interaction. Claymore does have it's emotional moments, but they're rare and don't really show up until the end of the series.

Through most of the differences, Claymore and Fate/stay night do share a lot, and I'm recommending this series for mainly the characters. There are other things, as I said above, but characters are really the main similarity. read more

Both Animes deal with swordsmanship, fighting, romance between the main characters, a strong woman, and weaker but then eventually strong man, who she has to protect. I think they are pretty similar anime, so if you liked one you will surely like the other. BOTH ANIMES ROCK =)

while claymore is set in a somewhat medieval setting, fate stay/night is like taking that stuff and putting it into a modern setting.

Both anime have strong sword or weapon wielding secondary female characters who decide to protect the weaker but "good" and "innocent" main male character who has latent talent and power. They inevitably begin to fall in love throughout the anime. The main characters discover their own strength as the anime progresses.

If you by any chance liked the anime of the highly-celebrated eroge game Tsukihime, there's no reason for a person who played Fate/Stay Night to not see the anime. Despite lacking the in-depth story telling present in the games, any fan should at least watch it and compare it to them. Of course that for those who haven't played both games, and loved or enjoyed watching Shingetsutan Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night should be something they should watch as well. Same universe, different place, different setting. Can you make any connections between both series or their characters?

In both animes the main character is a boy whose life is in danger. Then he gets involved with a girl from another world who becomes his fighting partner. Both animes have quite a sad, serious feeling. Fate/stay night might be a bit more flashy.

When the main male char runs into the vampire princess Tsukihime one day, his life changed drastically. Together with Tsukihime he fights against the evil guy, so in this way it is similar to Fate/stay night. It has also a similar ending.

Fate/stay night and Tsukihime plays on the fantasy world on the "modern" era. Fantasy in the sense of monsters and magic, with action and blood.
Animation style, the world in Tsukihime seems a bit more gritty, while Fate/stay series is a bit more vibrant.

From the same creators, Type-Moon
Both based on the erotic visual novel game.

However, they do not use the nude and sex scenes as a crutch in either series.  Even though they are targeting the audience of teenage males, the strongest characters are the female leads.

Both anime are about an average and boring guy who suddenly meets a strong and cute girl who has super powers. The two make a contract together and (initially) have a master-servant relationship, where the girl fights, and the guy is basically useless.
Also, in both anime the main guy is an orphan, and has a childhood friend who is clearly in love with him (Sakura in FSN, Akane in Kurokami).
Both are shounen anime which have fantasy, magic, action, and drama.
Kurokami is more fast-paced and overall better than FSN, though.

In both anime we have a  more or less normal male protagonist who makes a contract with powerful supernatural being (or more precisely a girl). As time passes both are trown into a lot of fights and they learn to how to effectively support their supernatural partners (althought they are always supporters and they practically cannot fight on their own).

These two anime have a similar air to them. Shirou can be compared to Kurokami's male protagonist Keita, as they both enter a world of fighting with beings far greater than themselves. In F/SN we have servants while in Kurokami, we have Motutsumitama. If you like F/SN, you'll definitely enjoy Kurokami

although the ambition of the protagonist in each anime is different but both protagonist character is rather similar very determined despite their lack of power and willing to sacrifice itself to save the people. theres also about forming contract however in kurokami is not a contract between ancient champions but more with a powerful race known as motosumitama.

Mai-Hime is similar to Fate/stay night because it is also a battle royal. Here normal schoolgirls are suddenly (or should I say born but not yet discovered) granted massive powers with as only purpose to destroy each other till one is left. The last one will then obtain a greater power to save the earth. Quite a dramatic story with lots of action.

If u liked Mai-Hime then i think u might like Fate Stay Night. Probably because both shows have a sort of master/servant relationships, for instance in f/sn Shirou and Saber and in Mai-Hime Mai and Kagutsuchi. Both shows have their moments of comedy and some badass moments so if u liked either of them i recommend u watch the other.

Just as in Fate/Stay Night we have several chosen fighters with powers that have to fight each other in order to achieve the final huge goal. These fights are constantly held after specific time.

Both series involve strong emotions and love.

One of the huge difference would be that in Mai HiME all fighters are females and that there is a different price to pay for a loser, which I would say in Mai HiME has more value.

A human gains control of a strong entity in which they are forced to battle others that are in the same situation. The battles are either to the death, or until the strong entity can no longer fight. The fights stop when there is one victor. The battle is supposed to be kept quiet and only amongst the participants, but the fights escalate and soon, the entire city is at stake. Outside of the fighting, they live normal lives.

Though FSN is mainly about sorcerers and BR is about alchemy, they have a very similar feel to their storylines. The main characters in each are drawn into battles they don't seem to belong in starting with the appearance of a sort of 'warrior woman.' They both also have some romance thrown in, though I think this is played upon more in Busou Renkin.

Both main characters Mutō Kazuki(Busō Renkin) and  Emiya Shirō(fate/stay night) are just, merciful and want to be responsible and protect their friends. Although Kazuki is cooler than Shirō.

Both are about a teenage boy who has a battle-hardened woman enter his life, and is introduced to a magical battle that's occurring, unknown to the general public. Despite not knowing how to fight very well, the boy keeps risking his life to protect the girl, with an almost masochistic attitude towards his own life.

The differences are really just that F/SN is more serious, a bit bloodier, a bit sadder, and has a very evil main villain, while BR is happier in tone, throws in quite a bit of comedy, almost like a parody, with a very... eccentric main villain.

Well, both of these series have quite a few similarities if you look at it carefully. Let's see here:

- both series involves the protagonist who had a normal life being thrown into a totally new one
- both series struggles to protect what they hold dear to them
- both series have plenty of action, drama, and some comedy
- both series has romance as the episodes progresses
- the relationship between the protagonist and the heroine is quite similar

Story:
I can't say that the story are similar but the moral and the ideas behind it are alike. They fight to protect others and prevent sacrifices. The actions of both anime are very good and the fighting moves are very creative. 

Characters:
The characters of both anime are very similar. Both protagonist are extremely naive, believing that they will be able to protect everyone without sacrificing some. They both are willing to fight a losing battle if it means that it will prevent others from fighting. Both the heroines are alike as well. Both having a mean streak and a someone tsundere yet kuudere field.

Both of these anime revolve around fighting other people and being the last one standing. In fate/stay night, ghosts become servants and fight with there masters. Fate/Stay night has a darker theme to it, with more blood and violence to it.

The protagonists Shiro and Touma are both all about protecting and saving others regardless of any consequences. They both have limited amount of power but somehow manage to survive many fights against most powerful villains. The character constellation in terms of romances is quite the same, the protagonist is living with his main female compagnion and has another tsundere-type love interest which is more loosely connected.

The story lines are completely different, but both anime have one of the characters summoning a male familiar spirit. Both have magic and someone who is the lone survivor of a village.
Zero no Tsukaima is more ecchi though.

These two anime are similar because of the romance in both of them. The familiar of zero does have more romance, but they prove to be similar. Both main characters have a "familiar" (familiar of zero) or "servant" (fate/stay night) which is meant to be their companion. There is definitely some romance that goes on between them in both anime. Another similarity is that the main guy character does sometimes experience romance with other girls, not just their master/servant. Although it is obvious that their meant to be companion is who they are destined for. There is also magic in both anime, and the main has a special ability that is only noticed as a surprise later in the anime.There is more action in fate/stay night, and it is somewhat more of a thriller, while there is more humor in the familiar of zero.  Another difference is that the main in the familiar of zero is a girl with a guy familiar, and in fate/stay night, the main is a guy with a girl servant. Both anime were very impressive and if you liked one, you will definitely like the other as well. read more

As both anime focus on magicians with their "summoned helper", the plots are rather different at some points. First they share the similarity of "doing what is right" which will lead to the inevitable dilemma's. In both series the main characters develop a love relationship with their "helpers".

The differences between the series are more at a sub-level: Zero no Tsukaima focusses more on humor and the main plot, so the action is more a side-show, where in Fate/stay Night the action is a bigger part of the show. Also, Zero no Tsukaima has some elements of ecchi in it. Where this usually is not a problem.

Overall, if you liked one, I do think you will like the other, even though both series have their differences. read more

Assets are like Servants and the people in the Financial district (Entre's) are like Masters. Both anime's have people who has servants/assets who fight for them and are summoned when needed to. Similarly both have the main character showing compassion and care towards their servant/asset and trying to help them in fights/duels.

Although they don't have the similar style of presenting themselves, both series follows the format in which deals with master/servants in the conflict of a game. The winner of the game will achieve not only glory but also a reward. 

Each servant from both series is unique and possesses their own abilities. It is however also up to the guide of their masters to achieve victory.

Both series also contains supernatural themes.

Soul Buster is definitely a shorter and less detailed alternative of Fate/Stay night. The start off of both anime are different, but the basic concept of the two involves teenagers playing a game and putting their life on the line for the card that they picked from their dream world. Essentially, there are other players who also chose a card and they hunt each other for the card they have to achieve whatever goal is placed for them.

Saber and Alice, (the main girls of both animes) are voiced by the same seiyuu. In both animes, a boy has a contract with a powerful girl. In both animes it happened big tragedy in the past because of a war between evil and good. Mayo Chiki! addpermalink

When watching fate.stay night I had this jarring feeling of deja-vu, everytime I heard "shirou" I wondered where did I hear that before? Why do these characters look so familiar.

Mayo Chiki and fate/stay night have almost the exact same character types, character relations and interactions, heck the names even sound the same. 
If you enjoyed Mayo Chiki and want a better plot, watch fate.
If you enjoyed Fate and want some nonsense unrelated to the nasuverse, pick up mayochiki

Both are taking place in one city/village. They also have a mystery murderer, some bloody scene and violence. Fate stay night is a lighter anime than higurashi, but if you like the other one, you probably like the other.

The Fate series are considered a battle royale masterpiece, with the main protagonist accidentally dragged into the race, after which a grand story of struggle for life and love follows, mixed with mystery, suspense and action. Darwin's Game tells a similar tale, albeit perhaps in a slightly less "epic" setting.

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge addpermalink

There is a bloodline traditional game that in order to get your wish granted you must kill. In Crime Edge you have "Killing Goods" instead of "Servants", and instead of killing all servants other than your own to get their wish granted, they must kill the Main female character Iwai. Behind all this there is an organization that oversees the progress of the "Game". That is where there similarity ends.

Both series feature "master-servant" relationships where an ordinary human being is paired with a character who possess superhuman abilities. The pair is bounded, and the death of either side will greatly affect the other.

Battles occur behind the scenes, yet the the consequences are seen in the real world.

There are mystery elements in both cases, and character backgrounds are slowly unraveled through battles.

I find that Saber (F/SN) & Sousuke Sagara (FMP!) are very similiar. The pragmatic soldier type that thinks of battle 24/7. While FMP! was more comedic because he was out of place F/SN has Saber in the right environment. The Romance story also takes on a more serious tone. While FMP! keeps the shounen inexperienced, lack of bravery in all regards romantic like confessing one's love; F/SN manages to develop romance and pay it off. Both Male & Female leads are in High School or of that age but comedy is rare in F/SN, the tone remains that of FMP! battle scenes for the most part. F/SN is kind of the medieval seinen of FMP! read more

The mood is completely different, but these anime both have the master/servant thing, a competition to reach an objective, magic, romance, super powers, and fights.
Also, both are harem and have a tsundere in them.
Believe me or not, I enjoyed Akikan! more than FSN.

First of all they both have a similar plot in that both are centered around servival of the best.

They both revolve around the characters reciving aid from an ally that is more powerful then themselves.(fate zero is reserected magical super spirit people while beatless is androids with hyber andvanced ai and abilities)

they both have a very interesting cast that all have their own objectives and desires out of these events.

finally they both have many different interesting and changing relations between each character (for fate both spirits and humans, for beatless both android and human)

The similarities are quite stunning considering how different these two works are. I've never read anything to confirm this hunch, but I feel confident that Demon City played an inspirational role in Fate. In each anime you have a young man dragged into a fight much bigger than himself by a young woman. In both cases sorcery is involved, as well as the legacy of a heroic father. On a more superficial level the antagonist of Demon City bears quite a resemblance to Archer in Fate. And both anime contain a scene of the protagonist drawing a sword from atop a small hill in reference to the Arthurian sword in the stone, both scenes are framed exactly the same way, same angle, shading, it's uncanny. Both series also make use of characters and references from classical literature and mythology.  read more

Accel World and the Holy Grail War are both settings in which the main characters have to fight and win to gain something.

Fate/Stay Night and Fullmetal Alchemist are very similar to each other. Both series are about a dark plotline: In FMA, they seek the philosopher's stone because it is said to hold to power to grant wishes without equivalent exchange; in Fate/Stay night, they seek the holy grail, which will grant both master and servant a fulfillment in any desire they wish. Both plotlines have twists and curves you don't see coming, and both end up realizing what they seek isn't all it's cracked up to be. They both focus on solving a certain mystery and to do so the heroes have to explore their world and powers, along with dealing with some very dangerous enemies. Both storylines are quite dark, and contain quite a few plot twists that will keep you guessing about what will happen next. If you like fullmetal, you're bound to like Fate/Stay night. read more

Finished all the routes? Do you want to see the characters living a happy life? Well, this is the perfect anime for you. This is a slice of life comedy cooking show which involves the characters of the original fate/stay night anime. Even though I don't cook that much, I enjoyed this a whole lot. The animation is very cute and colorful compared to the actual anime itself. This is a great watch if you just want to relax and learn cooking somehow.

The feel of both anime is similar at times, aswell as some of the styles of animation used during the action scenes. They are both pretty serious and rarely detract from the main plot for the sake of humour. They are both action packed and visually impressive. They both deal a lot with the morals and philosophy around war and fighting. Both of the main protagonists are in high school, and are chosen by a very powerful and beautiful female assistant, who begins the series far more powerful than them, but the gap bridges as the series progresses. These female assistants are similar in demeanour, as they are humourless cold, but likeble for this very fact. They also both lived in another time.Infact these female protagonists have so much in common it's a reason alone to watch both. If one of the main things you liked about one series was the female protagonist, be prepared to fall in love again. Fighting with reference to ruling kingdoms/empires, and family ties is touched upon often in both series. It dosen't seem like many, if any others have linked these series together, which suprises me, as they share a lot of good points, so i think you may find what you liked about one in the other. read more

Fate/stay night is quite similar to Shaman King while applying a relationship philosophy between a master and a servant and a Shaman and it's spirit (Fate stay/night and Shaman King, respectively). Both protagonist doesn't develop their relationship as simple user and tool but they, strongly, depends of the concept of bond. In other words, mutual respect has being a key figure to develop this fellowship and, both of them, at their own pace, build this constant trait while their protagonist tries to reach an goal. So, if you're looking for a journey of founded philosophy while understand the other ones pain and struggles and, by understanding this, work together for achieve an similar and respectful objective, both animes will be moving their story towards those aspects. read more

These two anime have lots in common:

- MC seems quite generic but he's not completely generic (but he also has flaws)
- MC is good at cooking
- Blonde main heroine
- Fateful encounter between main characters
- Main heroine is dense about her own feelings
- Four main girls, three are the main possible routes but one of those three is a third wheel while the fourth actually has more interactions (and hopes to be a lov interest) with MC
- Same four type of girls: tsundere type, useless type, obsessed type and violent type (though, the actual order between primary and secondaries differs between the two anime)
- Two or more "factions" are fighting with each other
- In one series the MC is the lock and the girl is the key, in the other the MC is the scabbard and the girl is the sword

Similarities:
Both involve characters summoning spirits (servants) to aid them in a fight against other characters. In Seirei it is to win blade dances in F/SN it is to receive the Holy Grail
The summoning marks in F/SN reminded me of the Spirit Seals in Seirei as well as the use of secondary magic
The elemental waffen of Seirei are similar to the noble phantasms of F/SN
The holder of the Holy Grail and the winner of the upcoming blade dance both get a wish granted

Differences:
F/SN is much darker and involves a game and battles to the death
Seirei is more of a comedy and is harem based, as well as being a lot more ecchi
F/SN tells a complete story in of its own right, whereas Seirei is just the introductory arc to a much longer series (3/13 light novels have been covered by the anime so far) read more

well .....although I find Hand Shaker lacks a lot compared to the Fate saga, they do have some similarities. Both anime focus on a group of people who have a servant/partner with whom they have to fight each other. The animation is unique in both anime.

Re:Creators is similar but instead of people from our history being summoned, its about a bunch of fictional characters from anime and videogame worlds being summoned to modern day Japan and, of course, they all start fighting each other.

- Everyone inexplicably loves and accepts the protagonist so the plot can move forward despite all his contextually unacceptable behaviour, which range from actively disgusting to unpleasant.
- Faux-medieval setting.
- Protagonist suffers many life-threatening injuries but never dies for real.
- Battle between factions to obtain sovereignty/legendary item.
- Factions consist of one leader and one subordinate at its core.
- Lots of blood.

Despite my personal ire for both shows, I do think fans of one will probably enjoy the other.

FSN is for sure one of the best ever, is very difficult to match, when I saw FSN for sure got a special and very uncommon atmosphere, after long time without get that special feeling I foun MADAN NO OU TO VANADIS.

In both warriors with special power fight each others, that chivalric atmosphere, involving honor, loyalty, the bounds the characters develop each others, the sense of duty and to protect the people in Madan no ou to Vanadis is wonderful.

The most make them similar are  the awesome work in developing both animations, music, voice actors, art and animation is wonderful in both series, for sure since the first episode you will have the same impression I got, If you like chivalric and Arthurian stories, go a head and give a watch to Madan no Ou to Vanadis and you will not regret of it, I can guarantee ... ;3   read more

Yugioh 5ds and Fate Stay Night are shows that have people fighting each other through battles. 5Ds fight through cards and FSN fights through masters and servants. The reason why I put this recommendation was because after watching the Dark Signers Arc, it reminds me of FSN in a certain way. 10 signers in teams of 5 and 14 participants in teams of 2 fight for the ultimate prize with marks embedded in them. Suspicious host plays in both tournaments while participants fight each other in a setting. If you enjoyed either war, you'll like the other.

X TV and Fate/stay night are, coincidentally or not, about fourteen heroes fighting each other for the ultimate prize; the heroes are the 7 Dragons of Earth and 7 Dragons of Heaven (X), and the 7 magicians with their 7 servants (Fate/S N). The stories are about destiny, power and sacrifice, and are beautifully drawn, both taking place in present-day Japan. These series feature high school students torn from ordinary life for their higher purpose, and really go well together.

Both protagonists have a strong girlfriend that they get along well with. But they stay friends with girls. 
Both protagonists have great hidden powers.  
In both anime the current situation arose in connection with the actions of the protagonist's fathers. 
The protagonists are similar in appearance, not only in character. 
The drawing is also similar, since the release dates are close.

Both male protagonist are captivated by beauty of girl wearing an armor. Ironically armor is similar too... >.>
Some lines are total ripoff from Fate/stay night.
DEEN has yet again amazed me with how much they can stain Fate series. Leave Fate alone! You are lucky they even let you make it you bastards!
If you are a fan of Fate/stay night and you like puns from it, randomness and all this is the right anime for you.
If these things make you sick, as they make me sick, for your sake, skip it, you wont suffer from collateral brain damage as I do. read more

Both series have strong, skilled female fighters.  The art style is very similar, with a noted similarity mainly in the clothing design of Princess Alita (the main protagonist).  Like Saber, Alita is also (to some extent) king (since she's the only ruler of her country).

Neither are super original, but both keep to well formed stories and character developments.

Humans must pair up with another being of mythical proportions with supernatural abilities to kill or defeat similar adversaries, fighting for survival, and ambition. The protagonists are also unwittingly thrown into the fray by chance, but end up using the opportunity to defend what they believe in, particularly the people close to them. Some characters might borrow their name from famous literary works, but may have their genders swapped (mainly male to female).  

While Z/X: Ignition is more of an apocalypse on a global scale, Fate/Stay Night is a small secret "war" within a single city, with only a handful of parties fighting one another. Despite that, Z/X: Ignition seems to only focus on one particular city with also a handful of characters as well. read more

Fate/stay Night has servants, Ayakashi has, well, ayakashi. A loli that joins the party after being an enemy, a constant damsel in distress, some blood and gore and a hint of romance in both, the similiarities are quite numerous. However, both also share the flaw of expecting the viewer to have basic backgroud of the story first, since both anime do not show fully its entire story. However, it should be noted that Fate/Stay Night is MUCH MUCH better.

Both series aren't all that alike but Fate/Stay Night has some religious themes. The music from both anime are similar to me and both also have a tinge of fantasy and magic. If you like the religious motif and magic involved, you'll like either series. While Fate/Stay Night is organized more as a game for the holy grail, 07 Ghost focuses on the journey of the main character who seeks to find the truth about his past. The main character in Fate/Stay Night also seeks to learn about his past.

Nakano Kou from Ajin reminds me a lot of Shirou from FSN. Even though Ajin 1st season is mostly about Nagai Kei, Kou has a more significant role in the 2nd season. Kou and Shirou are both redheads with similar hairstyles; and wouldn't mind risking their own lives to save others. Luckily for them they are both near immortal (Many characters from Ajin because they are an ajin, Shirou because of some kind of plot device).

Both anime have plenty of gore and epic action scenes. A major difference is that Ajin has more realistic characters IMO, while in FSN the characters are mostly archetypes (tsundere etc.).  read more

Both heroines claim to be knights that will protect and serve the main protagonist. The main protagonist refuse to see the heroine as a servant. Also in Fate/stay night, the servant is actually a knight. Romance and drama in the air.

In Fate/Stay Night, powerful familiars called Servants fight alongside their contracted Masters to have their wishes fulfilled by the Holy Grail. The Masters provide mana to the Servants so they can exist in the world. In Shikabane Hime, powerful undead corpses called Shikabane Himes fight alongside their Contracted Priests to have their wish of going to heaven fulfilled. The Contracted Priests provide "Run" energy to the Shikabane Himes so they can exist in human form.

in both the male and femlae led only work together to acomplish there goal (inuyasha)to find all the jewel shards and in (fatestay)to obtain the holy grail
but  the main charcters end up falling in love with each other 
also
there both shounen anime that will make u keep waching
evendo in both there is alot of fighting they also have a great mix of adventure romance,drama,fantasy and comedy

They are pretty similar when it comes to hero's and having magical abilities.  As well one of the main character's of Fate/Stay Night who's name is Saber, acts a little like Ferris, with the sword, and the personality. For the boy main character's Shirou and Ryner both have a mark on them that they both bury upon on. Ryner with the cursed eye, and Shirou with a magical mark on his hand.
