It's fine, as long as you learned from it :)
Again, the D-Wheel mechanic in this show isnt even that bad, you just have to get used to it, and I did after just a few episodes.
The Synchro monsters is just another way of Fusion in Duel Monsters.

And the entire plot of 5D's is just more mature, no more friendship prevails over all that gets shoved in your face, and no more highschool kids etc. (Yusei is 18)

Durarara is far weaker than Baccano though.

While I don't have actual staff commentary to back my hunches up, it's always felt like it had that distinctive "oddball world system plus dialogue-heavy" feel that permeated a lot of comedies throughout the late 90s/early 00s (shit like Gokudo, the Kakyusei series, and Irresponsible Captain Tylor). That's my take on it, anyway. It gives me nostalgia for an age that wasn't even that great.
