Both characters changed way too quickly. [x] Read a manga that is a collection of short stories: Aoi Destruction - 28 Feb Thoughts: 7/10 Cute comedy stories. Kazurou's art in action scenes is surprisingly decent. I would love to see him try a battle shounen as opposed to his normal MO. [x] Read a webmanga or 4-koma: Waratte! Sotomura-san (Ongoing) - 15 Feb Thoughts: 7/10 Sotomura is adorable, but the story is progressing way too slowly. It's like Angel Densetsu if the plot never went anywhere (and if all the characters were cute girls) [x] Read an award-winning work: Takemitsu Zamurai - 17 Feb Thoughts: 8/10 Matsumoto's art is always right on the border for me between me liking it and disliking it. Interesting pacing. The art was really nice, I think I'll check out more of the artist's work. Asahi is best evil leader. Years: 1/4 [x] Read a manga that started serialization the year you joined MAL: Eiyuu Kyoushitsu Honoo no Empress - 28 Feb Thoughts: 6/10 This is clearly just a short advertisement for the novels. I like that it's not the most cliched LN story ever (although it's still pretty damn cliche), but this arc was way too rushed. Not enough buildup, so I never gave a crap about any of the characters. I love every single character, and the cooking is easy to follow and does a great job of making me want to try the recipies. I think I liked his art in this series even more, and the writer was better as well. I kinda loved it. Hope someone finishes translating this someday, I really want to see where the story goes later on. [x] Read a Harem, Ecchi, Shoujo Ai or Shounen Ai manga: Imori 201 (Translation Ongoing) - 28 Feb Thoughts: 8/10 This series is mindbogglingly stupid... and that's kinda what makes it great. It's just full-force batshit insanity and I love it. [x] Read a manga that is tagged with a genre you dislike: Fujimura-kun Mates (I don't like Harems) Thoughts: 8/10 Absolutely hysterical. This is the only way to really make harem manga work for me: It has to be so utterly brainless and absurd that the reader is forced to suspend any and all disbelief. It reminds me a ton of D-Frag, very similar comedy. I might like it more than D-Frag, actually, the art isn't as good, but the story has much more progress. The ending was hilarious too. [x] Read a manga that has a main character that is a professional in his field: 3-gatsu no Lion - Ongoing Thoughts: 10/10 Astonishingly good. Rei has some of the best character development I've ever seen, and the dialogue is consistently fantastic. This author has a great talet for creating interesting multifaceted characters. So hyped for the anime, hope it delivers. [x] Read a manga with an archetype as a main character: Kongou Banchou (Macho Guy) - 17 Feb Thoughts: 8/10 I really like the MC, in this day and age I feel like I don't get to see protagonists like this as much as I used to. The ending was a bit strange. I never wanted to drop the series though, and I don't know why. The ending comes way too quickly, and the whole thing was just not very well paced.
