Synopsis

From the creator of Pieta comes the story of a connection between two women, Maho and Fujiko, who live in the same apartment building. Double House is listed as a yuri/romance on here, but it's not. It's about the friendship between two women who are neighbors, both of whom don't really fit into society's expectations. Both of them also work the night shift, emphasizing that they operate a little differently than the rest of society. The story is rather slice-of-life-y, and it does a good job of fleshing out the characters by showing little snippets of their life here and there. They feel like real people, and not just caricatures (which happens in some manga, unfortunately). The art style is simple and spare, but also gorgeous; the mangaka has read more

even though i rated this a 10 i think a fair score would be around an 8.

i truly enjoyed this from start to finish. the characters are really refreshing and relatable. it is tagged shoujo-ai which might turn off some people but really it doesn't (in my opinion) fit under the shoujo-ai genre as it is more about the characters exploring and figuring out their feelings. what i loved most about this manga is how the mangaka touch upon subjects that we normally think of taboo, like gender and family issues.

i really love haruno nanaes art so i might be a bit biased but read more
