SynopsisMichiru Kita’s a weak-spirited girl who has a hard time saying what’s on her mind. One day, she notices mysterious, ring-like markings around the necks of two of her classmates, Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana — two boys who miraculously survived a horrible accident six months before. Michiru, possessing the rare ability to see these rings, knows that they warn of impending death. Thinking that, perhaps, she can do something to save her classmates’ lives, she approaches them... but it seems the boys have already made a different kind of deal and garnered themselves a heavy debt

I wrote this review simply because there is one positive and one negative already existing review, thus i wanted to help tip the scales.
Story 7
I liked the premise for the story very much and was excited to see how they would write it. I did like the story and how it was being written, however, sometimes i found the arcs' explanation to be a little confusing. The other thing is that they tended to make an arc a couple of chapters longer than it really needed to be. Thankfully, there were a couple of fun chapters between each major plot line because it allowed the reader to take a break from the heavier side of this manga.
Art 7
The art was good, nothing amazing but it was far from bad. The action scenes were a little messy, but really not to much to complain about.
Character 7
These characters were your regular shounen stereotypes one would expect to see. You have your short tempered, act first think later type of guy, you have your cold personality aloof who has dark hair and an even darker past, and finally our weak protagonist who is constantly being saved by our male heroes yet has some abnormal abilities of her own. Nothing too special, but it is a tired formula that proves to work relatively well, at least for this manga. The one thing i liked about her was that she usually slipped into the background during the fight scenes so you didn't really see her enough to start to hate her.
The side characters were entertaining but probably my favourite character of all is zarame (even though he barely speaks). I guess i just like the concept of a mini shinigami.
Enjoyment 8
I actually did enjoy this manga, there were a few quarks that i found to be unique that made me want to keep reading. The concept was cool, the characters worked well, and even though a little confusing at times, you get the general gist of things.
i would recommend it, so hey just go for it. Will it be the best thing u ever read, probably not, but its a good enough story with a few laughs and enough character development. read more

Running around in circles...
Have you ever heard of that line?
Well, this story doesn't even do that, it goes around in loops, half finnished circles and the author expects us to get going with the story.
Contradiction, after contradiction; HOW MANY contradictions am I (the reader) supposed to ignore?!
The plot is practically a bunch of scribbles, a nonsensical pile of words. Honestly, if it were a oneshot, it would've been good but the writer stretched the story so long that there is barely any story intact; it is like a standing stick in the mud.
First, it's about a depressed girl,
THEN, it's about having fun,
AND THEN, it's a conspiracy?
How the hell, did you get from depressed girl to conspiracy? Because it's not something I can swallow well.
The plot and characters got over-complicated as the story went on, as I was reading it, I couldn't get my head into the story. It shouldn't be surprise then to learn that this story, aside from its name, couldn't attract or inspire the reader's attention.
It was like reading in monotone.
Its like...
White socks, plain and boring.
So if you'd like trying to read a white sock instead of wearing one, then do as you like. read more

Peach-Pit’s greatest series. Both are extremely good and addictive manga with amazing art and great characters. The supernatural is a focal point in both: the protagonist (Jun/Michiru) is an introverted person with a rather painful past who comes into contact (unwillingly at first) with beings who shouldn’t be alive: zombies in ZL, living dolls in RM. Also, Nori (Jun’s sister) & Michiru are very similar. Both are neither shoujo nor shounen, but take a bit of both categories, and add some tragedy and psychology.
Both by the same mangakas. They are drama series with lots of comedy elements and caricaturesque drawings. Both deals with deep human feelings, the world of dreams and the connection between all human souls and destiny.

In both there is a power called Shinigami Eyes, which in DN allows you to see both the name and life span of anyone, and in ZL makes you see a ring on people’s neck: the darker it becomes, the nearer that person’s death gets. Both can be creepy at times, and both have Shinigami, death, supernatural, mystery, blood, a dark aura, and lots of bishounen. Both are really good, worth-reading manga, and both both are (wrongly) considered shounen.
Both have a death theme, along with shinigami and "Shinigami Eyes" and both are highly enjoyable.
