Zombie Loan and bleach both have shinigamis and in both the good side guides souls to another world.
Both deal with the whole undead/spirits/Shinigami thing, can be pretty dark at times, and have that supernatural/action/comedy/drama mix. Bleach is a more typical shounen, while ZL is way better.

In both there is a power called Shinigami Eyes, which in DN allows you to see both the name and life span of anyone, and in ZL makes you see a ring on people’s neck: the darker it becomes, the nearer that person’s death gets. Both can be creepy at times, and both have Shinigami, death, supernatural, mystery, blood, a dark aura, and lots of bishounen. Both are really good, worth-reading manga, and both both are (wrongly) considered shounen.
Both have a death theme, along with shinigami and "Shinigami Eyes" and both are highly enjoyable.

Peach-Pit’s greatest series. Both are extremely good and addictive manga with amazing art and great characters. The supernatural is a focal point in both: the protagonist (Jun/Michiru) is an introverted person with a rather painful past who comes into contact (unwillingly at first) with beings who shouldn’t be alive: zombies in ZL, living dolls in RM. Also, Nori (Jun’s sister) & Michiru are very similar. Both are neither shoujo nor shounen, but take a bit of both categories, and add some tragedy and psychology.

These are both really worth-reading series that can’t be simply categorized as shoujo or shounen, and (imo) can be enjoyed by both girls and guys. In both X & ZL the characters try to overcome destiny, fate, and death, and most of them has painful memories in their past. Both manga have a great and wide cast of characters, an interesting and complex storyline, and excellent character development. They have some genres in common (action, drama, supernatural), can be pretty depressing and bloody, and have a few similar characters. Also, in both there are 2 factions, composed of people who have not ordinary powers and abilities, which fight against each other: Dragons Of Heaven/Dragons Of Earth in X, and Z-Loan/A-Loan in ZL. Both are epic yet underappreciated manga, and also are the best series of 2 famous mangaka group/duo (respectively Clamp & Peach-Pit).

Both have main girls that have a special 'spiritual-seeing' ability, and guys that are working as shinigami to pay off their debts. Also, both mangas have a recurring theme of money and how the main characters suffer from some sort of poverty.

Square Enix worked on both manga.
In both you'll find eye-patches, Shinigami, contracts, death, a dark mood, and great art.
But the most notable similarities are those between the characters: in both series we have the usually clumsy meganekko (Michiru/Meilin), the gay man who provides some comedy (Hakka/Grell), the always calm and kinda tedious Chinese guy whose eyes are constantly shut (Toho/Lau), the emotionless pretty girl (Kuze/Ranmao), the weird and non-human ferryman/grave-digger (Bekko/Undertaker), the cute and cheerful shota boy (Yuta/Finnian), and even the domesticated wolf (Raika/Pluto).
That said, Zombie Loan is overall way better.
